The impact of a chronic disease on the choice of study field and subsequent employment

The thesis consists of a comprehensive introduction to the problems of individuals suffering from inflammatory bowel diseases. The main topics comprise of the impacts of the disease on the process of education, the field of study and the highest achieved level of education and furthermore, the issues of employment as well as social and psychological aspects of these diseases. The thesis has focused on the detailed understanding of everyday and long- term problems encountered by the disabled people. The aim of the thesis was to provide information crucial for the decision-making in regards to the selection of the future field of work for individuals with inflammatory bowel diseases. The recipients of the information would be the individuals themselves, their families, as well as the professions of engaged or special teaching. The qualitative methodology implemented by the technique of semi- structured interviews was applied with ten randomly selected respondents diagnosed with inflammatory bowel diseases. An open coding method was used after the examination of the research data. The analysis of the acquired data has shown that most respondents felt a negative influence of the disease on the course of their education, the selection of their field of study or their highest achieved level of education....
Preparing children for planned surgeries

The aim of this thesis was to find out how much and in what way children are prepared for surgical procedures. For the research were selected children at the Department of Paediatric Surgery of the Kolín Regional Hospital, from February to June 2018. In the theoretical part, risk factors for developing anxiety disorders in childhood are described. In particular, anxiety and nervousness, fear, phobia, situational anxiety and mental resilience are defined. A mixed method was used in the research. The main tool was a written questionnaire. In the case of unclear answers, an oral interview was used. In the practical part, two types of questionnaires were used. One is for hospitalized children aged 7-15 and the other for their parents. The research found that seventeen children, out of seventy, were not informed at all, or immediately before surgery. All these children were restless, or even hysterical, they were screaming and crying. The children who were informed of the operation in some way tolerated it quite well. So we can say that most of the children were prepared. Mostly it was only by conversation with parents. The educational material was not used because there is not currently appropriate one.
Development possibilities of the fine motor skills and grafomotorics of an individual suffering from a central mobility disorder

This thesis is occupied with the issues of development of the fine motor skills and graphomotorics of an individual suffering from the central mobility disorder. The main aim of the thesis is to discover and describe what development possibilities of these abilities and skills are. The theoretical part deals with basic terms related to diagnosis of Cerebrovascular accident (CVA) and its rehabilitation options. There are also described the fine motor skills, graphomotorics, grasping process, classification of grasps and their development. There is a separate chapter that is engaged only with development of the fine motor skills and graphomotorics. The thesis also contains evaluation surveys that are applied in practice and that are important for comparison before and after a therapeutic intervention. The practical part is based on qualitative oriented methodology and it operates with data gained from five case studies. Based on comparison of values gained from the entry and control examinations, particular data have been elaborated. Support of education of a preschool child hospitalized with the Morbus Perthes diagnosis

The diploma thesis deals with hospitalisation of a preschool child and the importance of education during this challenging period. The goal of the thesis is to find out if parents are aware of the importance of preschool attendance while their children are hospitalised. The thesis also aims to supply teachers and parents with activities they may use to develop and support the child suffering from Perthes Disease. The thesis has been divided into two main parts. Part I is based on expert sources. It contains characteristics of a preschool child and specifies his/her needs and interests during hospitalisation, including the description of family, its function and co-operation with the hospital school. The final section of Part I provides information on Perthes Disease. Part II focuses on the family of the child suffering from the disease. This part is based on qualitative research results. The research investigated the families' attitudes to preschool education of hospitalised children and the importance of family when coping with the difficult life situation. The analysis of the collected answers resulted in a proposal of specific activities designed as a programme supporting education of the child suffering from Perthes disease. The programme is included in the final section of the thesis.
Obstacles in socializing a preschool child with a diagnosis of diabetes mellitus

This bachelor thesis is interested in the issue of socialization of a preschool child. The main goal is to find out the problems that kindergarten teachers encounter in integrating children with type 1 diabetes mellitus, how the disease affects the status of individual family members and the overall family status in society. The theoretical part describes the basic characteristics of diabetes, the basics of its treatment, the complications that can occur in diabetes. Furthermore, the theoretical part deals with socialization of preschool age and characteristics of pre-school education facilities. The results of the research on examining a certain girl in a particular kindergarten could be beneficial both to parents of diabetic children who are thinking of starting a child in kindergarten, and to the teachers themselves, who are waiting to receive a child with type 1 diabetes in their equipment.
Function of positive reinforcement in a learning process.

Diploma thesis focuses on effect of positive reinforcement and it's application in the learning process. The thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and analytical. Theoretical part describes importance of positive reinforcement in a learning process and behavior overall. How organisms acquire new skills and how effective teaching methods look like. Analytical part provides practical use of positive reinforcement in an effective teaching method called Discrete Trial Teaching. It's application, use, and correct implementation is provided through an example of teaching a motor imitation behavior. Role of teacher assistant in the kindergarten class for children with speech and language disorders

The diploma thesis focuses on the role of teacher assistant in the nursery class. Its aim is to capture the activities that the assistant teacher performs in this class through qualitative research. The main aim of the research was to describe the activities of the teacher assistant that support pupils directly in the logopedic class of the kindergarten. The research was carried out at the nursery class of the kindergarten. The case studies of five pupils were processed on the basis of documentary analysis and observation and teacher assistant activities were categorized. It has been found that pupils has disruptive communication skills that has been shown since the beginning of development and, besides communication skills, involves in other areas of development. Teacher assistant pays attention to all pupils in the class. Activities that encourage them to engage in education and all kindergarten activities do not differ in content. His work focuses mainly on ensuring understanding, orientation and involvement of pupils in every situation.
