Molecular simulations of organic-inorganic hybrid materials.
Novotný, Radek ; Pospíšil, Miroslav (advisor) ; Drahokoupil, Jan (referee)
Layered double hydroxides (LDH) are a promising material for use as a drug car- rier thanks to their capacity for the intercalation of various anionic species, as well as their very low toxicity for the human body. Atorvastatin (ATS) is a drug used for blood cholesterol level lowering and cardiovascular disease prevention. Current methods of ATS delivery are quite ineffective, leading to the need for prescribing high ATS doses, which may cause discomfort to patients due to the drug's adverse side effects, most commonly including nausea, indigestion, joint pain or muscle pain. The intercalation of ATS into LDH could facilitate a controlled, targeted release of the drug into the patient's body, making a lower dose of drug more effective and thus alleviating the side effects of ATS. Molecular simulations utilising the COMPASS force field were used to assess three dif- ferent models of ATS intercalated into Mg2Al LDH with ATS concentrations of 61.99 %, 73.64 % and 70.64 %, corresponding to basal spacing of LDH layers of 3.751 nm, 3.808 nm and 3.823 nm, taken from X-ray diffraction experiments. Different starting orientations of ATS anions in the LDH interlayers were explored. The highest concentration of ATS appeared the most promising and lead to the most stable structure. Ab-initio study of surface energies and structural influece of vacancies in titanium nitride nanolayer
Lebeda, M. ; Vlčák, P. ; Veřtát, P. ; Drahokoupil, Jan
The surface energies of 8 crystallographic planes and effects of nitrogen vacancies on the lattice parameter in rock salt-like structure of TiN (σ-TiN) were studied using ab-initio method of density functional theory (DFT) with the generalized gradient approximation functional (GGA) as parametrized by Perdex, Burke and Ernzerhof (PBE). The linear decrease of lattice parameter with the increasing presence of nitrogen vacancies up to ca. 80% was observed.\n
Europeanization and the State in Central and Eastern Europe: Political Economy of European Structural Funds
Šitera, Daniel ; Barša, Pavel (advisor) ; Drahokoupil, Jan (referee) ; Bohle, Dorothee (referee)
This Dissertation explores the impact of the European Union's (EU) Cohesion Policy (and its structural and investment funds) on the transnationalization and subsequent transformation of state in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). The Cohesion Policy is commonly known as a redistribution framework which transfers developmental aid from the West European core to the less developed periphery of South Europe and CEE through the EU budget. The dissertation explores the impact of this core-peripheral redistribution from a critical perspective in the Comparative Capitalism (CC) scholarship. More concretely, it focuses on the so-called Visegrád states - Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia - and their dependent market economies between the EU eastern enlargement in 2004 and the mid-2010s. This generates the first main contribution by bringing the EU structural funds into the CC debates on CEE which are mostly preoccupied with the impact of foreign direct investment (FDI) on the transnationalization of Visegrád states. The contribution is impossible without historicizing the role of Cohesion Policy in shaping the EU historical core-peripheral relations since the late 1980s. Such a historization facilitates the second main contribution when examining how the post-2004 CEE integration transforms these...
ZnMg0.8Ca/Sr0.2 ternary alloys - the influence of the third element on material properties
Čapek, Jaroslav ; Pinc, Jan ; Kubásek, J. ; Molnárová, Orsolya ; Maňák, Jan ; Drahokoupil, Jan
Zinc-based materials alloyed with the elements of the 2nd group of the periodic table have been studied as potential materials for the fabrication of various biodegradable implants. In this study, we prepared two ternary alloys: ZnMg0.8Ca0.2 (wt.%) and ZnMg0.8Sr0.2. The microstructure of both ternary alloys was similar, the main difference was in the size and morphology of the Ca/SrZn13 phase. The SrZn13 phase formed fine particles with a submicron size and had more significant hardening effect in the as-cast state compared to the CaZn13 phase. The annealing led to a transformation of the eutectic structure into the “massive” Mg2Zn11 phase which caused a significant increase of both hardness and compressive yield stress. In the annealed states, comparable hardness was observed for both alloys and higher compressive yield strength for the Ca-containing alloy.

Goal of this Bachelor thesis is to explore and evaluate the possibilities of web analytics tools and their influence on marketing decisions. The application part shows the differences between web analytics tools using the analysis of specific website and evaluates the suitability of their usage with emphasis on correct interpretation of data and their influence on decisions about the website improvements.
Microstresses and x-ray diffraction
Drahokoupil, J. ; Čerňanský, Marian ; Ganev, N. ; Kolařík, K. ; Pala, Z.
The description of an influence of microstresses and macrostresses on diffraction line profiles. Depth distribution of residual stresses in the shot-peened steel obtained by X-ray diffraction.
Microstrains and x-ray diffraction
Drahokoupil, J. ; Čerňanský, Marian ; Kolařík, K.
An attention is paid to the microstrain – its effect on X-ray diffraction and a method to its estimation from a broadening of diffraction lines. Especially, the single line Voigt function method is presented for the estimation of the microstrain and crystallite size from a single diffraction line.

Kopeček, Jaromír ; Jarošová, Markéta ; Jurek, Karel ; Drahokoupil, Jan ; Majtás, Dušan ; Sedláková, Silvia ; Heczko, Oleg
The cobalt-based shape memory alloys (SMA) are expected to be the new kind of socalled ferromagnetic SMAs. The presented abstract describes the progress on the structural study.
Kompletní rentgenové studium pole zbytkového napětí způsobeného balotinováním ocelí
Ganev, N. ; Čerňanský, Marian ; Drahokoupil, Jan ; Kolařík, K.
The contribution informs about a contemporaneous depth profile determination of both, the macro/ and microscopic residual stresses insurface layers. The results obtained indicate that depth distributions of both the quantities in surface layers are dissimilar.
Contribution to diffraction analysis of macroscopic and microscopic residual stresses in surface layers of shot-peened steels
Ganev, N. ; Čerňanský, Marian ; Drahokoupil, Jan ; Kolařík, K.
The description and the results of the study of depth profiles of residual stresses in surface layers of shot-peened steels. The influence of the intensity of shot peening and correlations between the absolute values of macroscopic and microscopic stresses on surfaces of materials were studied.
