Corporate Performance Measurement

This thesis deals with the application of Business Intelligence (BI) to support the corporate performance management in ISS Europe, spol. s r. o. This company provides licences and implements original software products as well as third-party software products. First, an analysis is conducted in the given company, which then serves as basis for the implementation of the BI solution that should be interconnected with the company strategies. The main goal is the implementation of a pilot BI solution to aid the monitoring and optimisation of corporate performance. Among secondary goals are the analysis of related concepts, business strategy analysis, strategic goals and systems identification and the proposition and implementation of a pilot BI solution. In its theoretical part, this thesis focuses on the analysis of concepts related to corporate performance and BI implementations and shortly describes the company together with its business strategy. The following practical part is based on the theoretical findings. An analysis of the company is carried out using the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) methodology, the result of which is depicted in a strategic map. This methodology is then supplemented by the Activity Based Costing (ABC) analytical method, which divides expenses according to assets. The results are informational data about which expenses are linked to handling individual developmental, implementational and operational demands for particular contracts. This is followed by an original proposition and the implementation of a BI solution which includes the creation of a Data Warehouse (DWH), designing Extract Transform and Load (ETL) and Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) systems and generating sample reports. The main contribution of this thesis is in providing the company management with an analysis of company data using a multidimensional perspective which can be used as basis for prompt and correct decision-making, realistic planning and performance and product optimisation.

Detergents market analysis and Perwoll brand analysis on the Czech market

The aim of the Master`s Thesis is analysis of detergents market on the Czech market with focus on Perwoll brand and prove or disprove the previously stated hypothesis together with the aid of the primary and secondary data from marketing research. After that it was proposed the recommendation for other brand marketing orientation. Under the terms of the analysis the thesis is looking into the consumer behaviour on the detergents market and its structure. The thesis is structured into three main parts. First part is theoretical and creates a background for the other parts. Second part primarily describes the detergents market, the structure and consumer perception. What is the brand awareness and what is the key factor during the buying decision process. Later on, it is looking into the Perwoll brand itself and its characteristics. The last part is the marketing research based on primary data and questionnaire research. In the end, the results of the research are summarized and potential solutions are made.

Gynaecological malignancy - screening and prevention

At the beginning of my thesis I am introducing the percentage distribution of malignant tumors of female reproductive tract. Outlines the possibilities and conditions of early detection of tumors, using various diagnostic methods. After the successful discovery of diagnosis follows the establishment of the therapeutic plan, which may consist of radical surgery, or the only preventive dispensarization. 2nd chapter describes the classification of tumors of female genitals, general, where tumors are divided into true and false, histopathologic, which assesse histological type of tumor, its extent and degree of differentiation, and numerical coding, which clearly indicates the tumor number. Chapter 3 shows the possible options of therapy of malignant tumors in the female genital tract. As an essential therapeutic modality for the majority of gynaecological malignant tumors is considered to surgical treatment. Chemotherapy, radiotherapy and hormone therapy have also application in the treatment of tumors. Different types of prevention, their contents and main objectives are described in Chapter 4. The Activation Programms for Seniors in Rychnov nad Kněžnou.

This bachelor thesis is aimed to the stimulating activities for seniors. Based on the Act No. 108/2006 Collection, On social services the stimulating activities belong among the basic activities when providing social services. The theoretical part consists of eight basic chapters. The first one outlines the characteristics of aging and old age. It is followed by social work with seniors because the whole thesis is engaged just in the seniors´ population. The third section contains the senior´s active life, its importance and the description of the active life in social services used by seniors. The left sections are engaged in the individual stimulating activities, such as motion activities, brainstorming, musical and art therapies. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to map the stimulating activities for the seniors in Rychnov nad Kněžnou. The partial aim is to find out the benefit of the stimulating activities for the seniors in Rychnov nad Kněžnou from the seniors´ point of view. There are two research questions in the connection with the thesis aims. The main research question is: What kind of stimulating activities for seniors are provided in Rychnov nad Kněžnou? The partial research question finds out what is the benefit of the stimulating activities for the seniors from the seniors´ point of view. For practical section of bachelor thesis I have chosen the quality research. I have used the questioning method and the technique of the semi-controlled dialoque, the secondary analysis of data, and the method of make the clusters. The selected group had 7 clients of the daily and weekly care centre of Parish charity in Rychnov nad Kněžnou where the research has been realized. The respondents have been chosen using the purpose-quota choice. The results are divided into two sections based on the research questions. The first section is concerned the data analysis of the organizations providing the stimulating activities for the seniors in Rychnov nad Kněžnou. The second section contains the respondents´ subjective opinions in the stimulating activities offered by the Parish charity in Rychnov nad Kněžnou within the daily and weekly care centre for seniors. The results are divided into the sections based on stimulating. The research has shown the stimulating activities for seniors in Rychnov nad Kněžnou are offered by two organizations ? Social services of the town Rychnov nad Kněžnou and the Parish charity in the same town. The stimulating activities provided with the seniors are as follows: motion activities, brainstorming, reminiscences, musical and art therapies, lectures, playing games, hobby clubs, learning a foreign language, social and cultural events. It results from the research realized using the dialogue with the clients of the Parish charity in Rychnov nad Kněžnou that the most visited activity are motion activities with brainstorming in which all the questioned people participate. For the question where they can see the contribution to train their memory, they answered as follows: they train their memory, they are in the contact with the others, they learn new information and so they fulfill their leisure time or this activity is a hobby of theirs. They feel training their bodies due to the motion activities. The reminiscences have proved to be a favourite activity for them, too. The reason is they like remembering the years they have lived. The musical and art therapies have shown to be less popular activities. The gained knowledge of this bachelor thesis will have been possible to use as the source of information about the stimulating activities for the seniors in Rychnov nad Kněžnou. The thesis will be used as the feedback for the facilities where the research has been realized.

Segmentation of Generation Y in the consumption of alcoholic beverages

The main objective of the thesis was to divide the Generation Y, a group of young people between 18 and 32 years, into segments depending on the types of alcoholic beverages consumed. Subsequently the aim was to recommend for these segments suitable product innovation for the Czech market of alcoholic beverages. By analyzing secondary data in MML-TGI there were identified four segments with usage of factor and cluster analysis. The segments are: Rather...something lighter, Beer and shots, Liquorer and Wine and sweeter drinks. Then a structured questionnaire was created by using qualitative research (group discussions with the specified age group) and afterwards used for quantitative research. Data gained in the research was divided into equal segments which were identified in MML-TGI data and then there were recommended suitable product innovations in the branch of alcoholic beverages based on the preferences of the respondents identified in the research.

Transparency of grant policy in towns of Czech Republic

The (Master's) Thesis deals with the process of awarding the grants to the municipalities. The main emphasis of the Thesis is put on the following questions: who (political representatives in particular committees, councils and local authorities, or clerks), under which standards and in what way decides about the funds distribution. The research will be made in chosen municipalities. There will be given certain standards that will serve as a base for the research analysis of the transparency of the process of awarding the grants. In the primary phase, the data will be collected by the means of standardized interview of particular municipal employees concerned with grant policy. The secondary phase of the research will be based on desk research method. The research will challenge the hypothesis that the grant programmes in municipalities are transparent. Among the analyzed variables, there are objectives of the grant, requirements for awarding of the grant, authors of the grants, people responsible for awarding of the grants, grant beneficiaries, the amount of contributions, supervision over funds distribution and release of the grants.

The emotional intentions in the interwar political cartoons (1918-1939)

Diploma thesis "The Emotional Intentions in the Interwar Political Cartoons (1918-1939)" deals with the view of selected events and personalities, by which is expected a highly emotional (she had: emotionally heady - laden) public evaluation. This view of political themes is followed in the period October 1918 - December 1919 and May 1938 - March 1939, in the objectively politically dynamic periods and within the field of collective emotions hypertrophic periods. The basic thesis states: Caricatures exude mainly negative emotions (though at the same time - secondarily - may involve in the perception positive emotions too, the overall tone of the caricatures and their persuasive intention is primarily an evaluative negation of the shown). Aim of my thesis is to try - by using semiotic analysis - to identify what emotions could be excited by recipients and to provide the emotional agenda. 1 also mention stereotypes in the representation of individual phenomena, but their representation is not the core part of the work. The working method is an innovation of traditional approaches to the interpretation of the cartoons, their forms and contents. The secondary objective is the research, which characters in advetisement are givet to women in magazine focused on economy and business. The research is quantitative analysis of data which are from advretising and monitoring foundout.

Competitive Intelligence in small and medium enterprises

This diploma thesis deals with integration of Competitive Intelligence and Business Intelligence into one solution, which would provide small and medium enterprises with maximum amount of information to help them make the right decision. The primary goal of the diploma thesis is to define user's requirements for such system and find for these requirements suitable information resources. Secondary goal is to analyze new Microsoft service called Windows Azure Marketplace Datamarket and its information resources, which could possibly be beneficial for this thesis. Gained information will be used to design the integrated solution. This diploma thesis could be used by companies, which are interested in solution like this, or by companies, which develop these solutions.

The Organizational Culture and Self-reliance and Responsibility of Employees

The subject of this text is the organizational culture and the work behaviour. The aim of a dissertation was to identify an elements of the organizational culture that support self-reliance and responsibility in the work behaviour. The second aim was to make a proposal of implementation of desirable organizational culture standard. The organizational culture structure was analysed and the culture standards were described accordance with its effects on work behaviour in the theoretical part of the dissertation. The secondary analyse was realised and described in the empirical part. It was analysed five empirical survey realized in years 1998 -- 2008. The objects of this survey always were the organizational culture and the work behaviour. The results of this dissertation is negation of a thesis that the organizational culture supporting the self-reliance and the responsibility of employees exists.
