STŘELCOVÁ, Hana
Domestic violence has been an urgent problem also in the Czech Republic. The necessity to solve its complexity upon level of the state, not only through non governmental, non-profit-making institutions, is especially expressed by adopting Act No.135/2006 Collection of Laws, by which some acts in scope of domestic violence protection are amended. This Act allows the Police of the Czech Republic to banish an offender committing domestic violence from mutual residence for a period of 10 days and the Act has established a new social service the so called ``Intervention Centre{\crq}q, i.e. a specialized facility that provides help with people who are endangered by domestic violence. The objective was to find out the level of public awareness, knowledge of the Intervention Centres in the Moravia-Silesian and Pilsen Regions. Within the first year of that Act operating, there were the least banished offenders v. s. number of inhabitants, just in the Pilsen Region and there were the most ones in the Moravia-Silesian Region. The theoretical work part describes forms of violence in the family, historical relationship of violent actions with women, possibilities how to prevent them or advised help measures to victims of domestic violence. Further, it is focussed on a legislative solution of that problem area in the Czech Republic and some of European countries or the USA as well. The practical work part involves results of a quantity research that was aimed to discovery of public awareness of the Intervention Centres. The research was performed by method of questioning in a way of a questionnaire. The research was focussed on consciousness of general public relating to domestic violence, whether the research respondents have ever met that phenomenon or what is their opinion on information effectiveness of the problem area. The research demonstrated low awareness of the Intervention Centres of inhabitants in both regions. However, most respondents know what domestic violence is. Nearly one third of interviewees have got certain experience with domestic violence. Majority of respondents consider the information on the Intervention Centres and domestic violence as generally useful. This work may be used to increase public awareness of the Intervention Centres or on the other side to provide the Intervention Centres employees with general public{\crq}s reflection as to availability and activity of the Intervention Centres.

Three Essays on Local Public Finance
Šťastná, Lenka ; Turnovec, František (advisor) ; Dušek, Libor (referee) ; Horvath, Julius (referee) ; Pavel, Jan (referee)
Three Essays on Local Public Finanace Lenka Šťastná Abstract The dissertation studies spending decisions of local governments. It consists of three parts; theoretical model is developed in the first part and empirical analyses of Czech municipalities of extended scope are presented in the other two parts. The theoretical model analyzes whether it is beneficial to decentralize policy decision-making when local public goods in two symmetric regions are complements. Strategic delegation when a voter intentionally votes for a politician whose preferences do not coincide with those of the voter and in-kind transfers, used to support local public goods production in the other region, are allowed. According to Oates' decentralization theorem, centralization pareto-dominates decentralization for symmetric regions regardless level of spillovers. However, for complementary public goods and when strategic delegation and in-kind transfers are considered, the tradeoff may be exactly opposite and decentralization may pareto-dominate centralization. The second part aims to test fiscal interaction among local governments in the Czech Republic which can be driven by spillover effects, competition, mimicking, or cooperation. Spatial dependence of local public spending (i.e. whether spending decisions in neighboring...

Potential of Verbal Assessment
Svatoš, Jakub ; Voda, Jan (advisor) ; Kargerová, Jana (referee)
The thesis is focused on the topic of verbal assessment at primary school and its potential to be objectively reflective of the progress of pupil's knowledge, skills, abilities and attitudes. The predictive value is analysed through creating an image of the pupil on the basis of the casuistry of all his verbal assessments. The segments of the report are classified by making a graph with the aim to predict further progress without any contact to the pupil. Finally, I realized an interview with the pupil which allowed me to compare the image to reality. The research part of the thesis points out the limited potential of using verbal assessment as a report. The thesis also focuses on transformation of the analyzed reports using the vocabulary of RVP ZV, which I consider an objective language of all the teachers.

The Building of the Tower of Babel (analysis of hebrew text genesis 11)
Říhová, Kristýna ; Beneš, Jiří (advisor) ; Biernot, David (referee)
ANOTATION The work deals with translation and interpretation of the original Hebrew text of Genesis 11, making the use of synchronous exegetical method. The method focuses mostly on careful observation of multi-layered meanings of Hebrew terms, direct speeches, macrosyntactical markers, parallelisms and sentence constituents. To reach deeper dimension of the text, the work also takes into account the original non-vocalized text, graphical form of the text, consonances and metathesis. One of the most significant features of this work is the attention paid to the timeless nature of Hebrew verbs, which allows to read the narrative about human desire, pride, non-hearing, illusions, inner decay and the way back to God not as a story from the past, but as a lively anthropological message.

Child with Visual Impairment in Czech Classes in Primary School
Koloburdová, Anna ; Pišlová, Simona (advisor) ; Šumníková, Pavlína (referee)
The objective of this dissertation was creating tactile materials and books - K.J. Erben Dlouhý, Široký a Bystrozraký, for Czech classes in primary school. The objective group were composed of both children with visual impairment and seeing children. Learning materials mean to be by both touch and sight. The materials show one of the effective devices, how to integrate seeing and visual impairment children, because both groups can use the materials. They were drafted to be an aid for special education. The materials were elaborated from curriculum guidelines of language education according to RVP ZV. The theoretical part of this dissertation demonstrates a legislative frame work for integration children with visual impairment and the necessity of tactile education in Czech classes. It then describes rules, that are important for making tactile graphics, according to the principes of haptisation and multisensorial access for children with an impairment. The practical part of the work was creating tactile materials, that involved allowing children and try them. Six children and one adult tested the materials. they were then interviewed about the materials. Based on the interviews, the materials were minorly alfered to their final form.

Changes in the education of history in Czechoslovakia 1948-1956
Bimková, Dana ; Beneš, Zdeněk (referee) ; Pullmann, Michal (advisor)
The education of history has always been influenced by society and by the political establishment. After February 1948, the Communist party in Czechoslovakia directed everything; the education was no exception. The objectives and contents of the education were directly subordinated to the political control that did not allow any changes proposed by teachers or scientists. On the other hand, in the special educational serials was given surprisingly big space for discussions about the forms and the methodology of education of history. These discussions were led by educational scientists and by teachers. They were suggesting changes that would purge the education of history from formalism and would improve the overall quality of students' knowledge. At the beginning of the period under consideration (1948 - 1956), these discussions were only few and not very sophisticated. However, in the end of the period they were making basic part of the educational serials and they were on high scientific level. The main covered topics were: the using of literature, maps, pictures, films, and noticeboards in the lessons; teaching of regional history; going on some excursions; teaching of historical facts and datas; writing notices in the lessons; etc. The space, where these discussions took place, looked like a space for...

Patients and obstetricians attitudes associated with caesarean section on maternal request
Paltiel, Monica ; Křepelka, Petr (advisor)
Medicine is changing, especially in obstetrics. We now have to involve patients in decision making. In this partnership we have to try to educate women about risks and benefits for both her and her child for both vaginal and cesarean sections. Women today want avoid risks and decrease uncertainty. There is no guarantee that a woman will deliver without complications before the onset of labor, and many feel that they decrease the risks and uncertainty by opting for a cesarean section. But cesarean sections have their own risk profile. Many studies have shown that a planned antepartum cesarean section has less risk than intrapartum cesarean sections. Some would say that a planned cesarean section is as risky as a vaginal delivery, but the risk profiles are different. Different countries have different approaches towards allowing cesarean sections on maternal request. In Italy a woman has the right to choose, while in Norway the woman has only the right to decide together with the physician. This is also reflected in the numbers of cesarean sections in the different populations. Some countries deliver babies with help of mid wives and other places obstetricians have to deliver the baby. In the world we live in time is of the essence and there is no exception when it comes to obstetricians. If the obstetrician...

Rozšíření SOA do platformy Cloud Computing
Qylafku, Denis ; Svatá, Vlasta (advisor) ; Toman, David (referee)
The aim of my diploma thesis is to introduce cloud computing as an alternative to traditional internal information technology and its benefits for a company. Diploma thesis focuses on three main goals. The first one concerns advantages and disadvantages of cloud computing in comparison to internal information technology. The second one is identification of possible processes and services available for migration into cloud computing. The third goal of the diploma thesis is development of investment analysis which compares not only initial costs on internal information technology and cloud computing, but also costs of both variants within three years. The main contribution of the diploma thesis is to define whether the cloud computing is economically beneficial for the company or not. The argument for categorizing cloud computing is in the reason that the company does not have to use all services within the cloud computing but only these, which the company considers as the most beneficial from cost and operation point of view. Another contribution of the diploma thesis is deployment of data, services and processes into a chosen cloud computing platform. Investment analysis allows through cost comparison of both options understand whether it is more beneficial to choose cloud computing or internal Information Technology platform. During this decision making the company also considers its business character and the fact whether the company operates locally or globally.

Study of differential potential of spermatogonial stem cells via transplantation in vertebrates
Kodedová, Barbora ; Krylov, Vladimír (advisor) ; Pšenička, Martin (referee)
Spermatogonia, or spermatogonial stem cells are necessary to maintain male fertility. In the complex process of ongoing spermatogenesis in the testes these pluripotent stem cells proliferate and differentiate into sperm cells. In 1994 the first spermatogonial transplantation technique was described in rodents to allow the study of male germ cells. The following series of studies of intra- and inter-species transmission of testicular tissue revealed the regenerative capacity of transplanted spermatogonial stem cells and their possible usage. Recently, spermatogonia transplantation systems are developed in many vertebrates making it possible to study the development of sperm as well as artificial production of male and female gametes derived from germ cell donors. The differentiation potential of spermatogonial stem cells enabled the creation of transgenic organisms by genetic manipulation of isolated spermatogonia and subsequent transplantation into a suitable recipient. Spermatogonial transplantation in the future may find their application in regenerative medicine, the treatment of disorders of spermatogenesis, or serve to preservation of genetic stock of endangered species.

Immigration and Integration Policy of France - at the Supranational, National and Local Level
Seidlová, Markéta ; Drbohlav, Dušan (advisor) ; Uherek, Zdeněk (referee) ; Rozumek, Martin (referee)
The thesis analyzes immigration and integration policy of France at the three different levels (supranational, national and local), while the choice of France was inspired by the fact that this country has among the European ones the longest tradition of receiving immigrants. The work is based on theoretical and conceptual approaches to international migration as well as on immigration and integration policies. In case of theoretical and conceptual approaches, it was mostly inspired by the concept of Heckmann' four dimensions of the process of social integration (Heckmann and Schnapper, 2003; Bosswick and Heckmann, 2006), by the Entzinger' and Biezeveld' (2003) assessment of integration as the resulting state and especially by Alexander's (2007) classification of policies implemented by local authorities, which allows as one of rare concepts to compare policy-making at the national and local level. From the methodological point of view, two regions which best suited the preliminary requirements on different share of immigrants in population on each territory and the difference between "city in rural area - metropolis" were chosen: Paris (or more precisely its 14 districts) and seven cities in the region of Basse-Normandie (Caen, Hérouville-Saint-Clair, Cherbourg-Octeville, Flers, Alençon, Argentan...
