Is it possible for a theatre to become a cultural centre?
Šesták, Jiří ; Gajdoš, Július (advisor) ; Srstka, Jiří (referee) ; Herman, Josef (referee) ; Gregorini, Jindřich (referee)
This thesis ? within the efforts to research implications and range of cultural management issues employed in theatre ? attempts to answer the question in the title: Is it possible for a theatre to become a cultural centre? Gradual clarifying this aim, the connections and both immediate and oblique assumptions of such a tendency interconnected with the issues of an open-air theatre space, specifically the possibilities of Revolving Theatre based in chateau gardens in Cesky Krumlov. In my opinion the invention of the scenographer Joam Brehms owing to its original contribution to European theatre includes the possibility of how to get closer to reaching the aim I have kept thinking about through development of those which have emerged from the history of South Bohemian Theatre. The role of an artistic director and also the position of a director in South Bohemian Theatre made me consider further the issues regarding the management of a complex theatrical organism, especially on the changed market conditions. The issues of management in an artistic or cultural institution and various solutions of which I learned myself first as an actor and later on I have had to make myself in various situations in my managerial positions formed the other part of my studies.

Hugo Wolf - Life and Works ( Focus on Vocal Works)
Pochmanová, Sonja ; Hajóssyová, Magdaléna (advisor) ; Přívratská, Jiřina (referee)
In my thesis entitled "Hugo Wolf - Life and Works ( Focus on Vocal Works)" readers can learn about one of the most significant song authors of the 19th century. Hugo Wolf´s significance is often marginalized. Maybe for the complexity and demands of his works less interprets prefer to choose songs of Wolf than for example songs of Schubert. The aim of this thesis is to spread the knowledge about this outstanding composer and to wake up an interest in the interpretation of his wonderful, sensitive and expressive songs. The chapters divided according to Wolf´s life and creative periods deal with Wolf´s complicated but interesting personality. From the opening chapters readers can learn about Wolf´s native town, which he kept visiting throughout his life to meet his family, about the composer´s difficult beginnings with his studies of music caused mainly by his inadaptability and stubbornness. Hugo Wolf lived only 43 years, however, during this time he managed to compose an enormous number of songs, he completed one opera as well as numerous orchestral and chamber compositions, and thus he deserves the attention of professional interpreters. However, there is no literature about Hugo Wolf written or translated into the Czech language. Thus, I hope that this thesis might serve to those who are interesred to get more acquainted with works of this outstanding composer.

Personality and sociodemographic characteristics at drug users in institutional treatment
DAVIDOVÁ, Klára
Many Psychiatrists and Psychologists agree that researching Addictive Personality is a difficult subject. It is associated with many problems as research into the Personality traits is complex. Therefore some mental health experts find it useful to view addiction as `compulsive{\crq} and `self-destructive{\crq} behavior. By accumulating existing and ongoing research of the Personality{\crq}s role in addiction, primarily that of Drug users and Alcoholism; most scientists have concluded that there is no one set of Psychological characteristics that define all addictions. However, scientists have found that there are several Personality factors that contribute to Addictions. These include: Impulsive behavior, difficulty in relaying gratification, antisocial behavior and a disposition towards sensation seeking. They are often nonconformists and have little or no interest in the goals and achievements that society places value on. A feeling of alienation and a tendency for deviance is also found to be common among types of addiction, along with a heightened sense of stress. The first theoretical part of this thesis concerns the definition of Drugs, types of Drugs and Drug Addiction. The second part concerns Personality Traits, Addictive Personalities and Empathy. The goal of this research is to identify some Personality characteristics of drug users whom are in institutional treatment. The research was carried out in Červený Dvůr, an institutional mental home for drug users and gamblers. Research was devised through a questionnaire that was given to 41 drug users being treated at the home. For the practical part of this research six Hypotheses were stated. Hypotheses H1 claim that clients of mental home Červený Dvůr show higher level of neuroticism in comparison to equal population. Hypotheses H2 claim that clients of mental home Červený Dvůr show higher variability extraversion and intraversion in comparison to equal population. Hypotheses H3 claim that clients of mental home Červený Dvůr show higher level of openness to experience in comparison to equal population. Hypotheses H4 claim that clients of mental home Červený Dvůr show lower level of Agreeableness in comparison to equal population. Hypotheses H5 claim that clients of mental home Červený Dvůr show lower level of conscientiousness in comparison to equal population. Hypotheses H6 claim that clients of mental home Červený Dvůr show lower level of empathy in comparison to equal population.

Locus standi of non-privileged applicants to bring an action for annulment
Moravcová, Eva ; Svoboda, Pavel (advisor) ; Král, Richard (referee)
Locus standi of non-privileged applicants to bring an action for annulment Abstract Every developed legal system is bound to have a mechanism for checking the procedural and substantive legality of measures adopted by its institutions. In the European Union it was of significant importance to create a system of control over the acts of the EU institutions given the democratic deficit within the Union and the limited supervisory role of the European Parliament. Binding acts of the EU institutions are subject to review through a number of routes provided by the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU) and the Treaty on the European Union (TEU), namely action for annulment (Art. 263 TFEU), the plea of illegality (Art. 277 TFEU), the preliminary reference (Art. 267 TFEU) and the action for damages (Arts. 268 and 340 TFEU). The Court has consistently endeavoured to treat the several strands as a complex and coherent system of judicial review within the Union based on the rule of law. The action for annulment under Art. 263 TFEU plays a crucial role for individuals as it is in practice the only direct way open to individuals to challenge the acts of EU institutions. The main purpose of my thesis is to examine whether the current wording of Art. 263(4) TFEU provides for individuals a sufficiently...

Treatment of neurogenic detrusor overactivity using botulinum toxin A
Šámal, Vladimír ; Morávek, Petr (advisor) ; Zachoval, Roman (referee) ; Krhut, Jan (referee)
2. Summary Treatment of neurogenic detrusor overactivity using botulinum toxin A Introduction: The treatment of neurogenic detrusor overactivity (NDO) is still a serious medical, social and economic problem. Using onabotulinumtoxinA (onaBTA) is the first choice in patients who are refractory to standard anticholinergic therapy or with the occurrence of serious adverse events from this treatment. The standard way of applying onaBTA is intramural injection into the detrusor of the urinary bladder. Aim: To evaluate the effectiveness of the NDO treatment with submucosal applications of onaBTA with regard to the complex mechanism of the action of onaBTA on the urinary bladder. Methods: A randomized, prospective open-label study was performed. The study population consisted of patients with neurogenic detrusor overactivity due to spinal cord injury. A total of 23 patients, in which urinary incontinence persisted due to NDO despite anticholinergic therapy, were included. After randomization, patients were treated with 300 U onaBTA applied in 30 injection sites, sparing bladder trigone. In group A the treatment was carried out using submucosal applications and in group B with intramural application into the detrusor. The length of the study was 12 weeks. Urodynamic examination was performed before and after the...

Autophagy in the heart
Šprláková, Katarína ; Hlaváčková, Markéta (advisor) ; Tomšů, Eva (referee)
Currently, it is growing evidence that autophagy is involved in the prevention of various diseases, which of course also includes heart diseases. This thesis is therefore aimed at clarifying the role of autophagy in the heart, especially during ischemia and subsequent reperfusion. Autophagy is a physiological cellular process by which the cell maintains homeostasis by eliminating long-lived proteins and damaged organelles. The role of autophagy during ischemia/reperfusion in the heart is complex. Predominantly it functions as a pro-survival pathway, because it protects the heart from ischemia or hypoxia. However, when triggered over, which happens during reperfusion, it may lead to cell death. In the heart autophagy is activated in response to various stimuli, such as decrease in ATP and subsequent activation of AMPK, protein Bnip3, reactive oxygen and nitrogen species, the opening of mitochondrial permeability transition pore, endoplasmic reticulum stress or unfolded protein response.

Mesial temporal epilepsy: comparison of morphological changes after different neurosurgery approaches with clinical seizure outcome
Malíková, Hana ; Vymazal, Josef (advisor) ; Kršek, Pavel (referee) ; Hájek, Milan (referee)
Background: Mesial temporal lobe epilepsy (MTLE) is the most surgically amenable epilepsy diagnosis and the results of epilepsy surgery are clearly superior to prolonged medical therapy. Stereotactic radiofrequency amygdalohippocampectomy (SAHE) is an alternative therapy of MTLE to the open neurosurgery approaches. In our hospital SAHE has been used since 2004. We produced lesions from the occipital access with a single trajectory in the long axis of amygdalohippocampal complex (AHK) using the probe with a flexible active tip. The aim of this study was to correlate the morphological changes after different neurosurgical approaches including volume reduction of the target structures / the hippocampus, the amygdala, entorhinal (EC) and perirhinal (PRC) cortices/ with the clinical seizure outcome. Methods: We included 26 consecutive patients, who underwent SAHE using Leksell stereotactic system and 10 patients treated by microsurgical amygdalohippocampectomy (AHE). MR volumetry of hippocampus, amygdale, EC and PRC was performed 1 year after the procedure. The clinical outcome was assessed 2 years after the procedure according to Engel's Classification. Results: No serious adverse events occurred after both procedures. One year after SAHE, the hippocampal volume decreased by 55.5  18.0% (p<10-4 ), the...

Procedural time-limits in Roman law
Pešková, Jana ; Skřejpek, Michal (advisor) ; Falada, David (referee)
Procedural Periods in Roman Law Submitted thesis is focused on chosen questions of procedural periods in Roman law. It is too focused on chosen institutes of roman procedural law. Firstly the thesis dissertates about general information and about and progress of roman procedura law. The single chapter disserts on prescription of rights, preclusion and temporal character of some actions. These law institutions are very important. It is also crucial in contemporary law. This chapter follows on discourse about executory periods. The final part of thesis is created by question of time and its computation, especially in law and in standing roman life. It was also very necessary to bring in some information in which is not visible relation to the topic because of creating of logical complex instead of lonely collection of articles without sequence. Only due writing of the...
