Molecular identification of purebredness and kinship of the Philippine crocodile (\kur{Crocodylus mindorensis}) and the Cuban crocodile (\kur{C. rhombifer}) for \kur{ex situ} conservation management
STRAKOVÁ, Helena
The current status of crocodilians recognizes them as a group under serious threat due to their habitat destruction and illegal poaching for their lucrative products. In addition to these threats, the elimination of spatial and temporal boundaries through modern anthropogenic pressures has facilitated hybridization in crocodiles by bringing together species that would otherwise not breed due to lack of opportunity. Here analyzed crocodiles, the Philippine crocodile (Crocodylus mindorensis) and the Cuban crocodile (Crocodylus rhombifer) are critically endangered and listed in CITES Appendix I. This study deals with a significant portion of the Philippine and Cuban crocodile captive population in Europe based on mtDNA, nucDNA and microsatellites. The species genetical purity of 13 specimen of C. mindorensis was determined on the ground of testing maternally inherited mitochondrial gene cytochrome b and and D-loop loci from the mitochondrial control region as well as two nuclear markers, LDHA and C-mos. Also the purity of 11 out of mentioned 13 individuals on the basis of several (7) microsatellite loci, while possibly confirming a supposed hybrid origin of two crocodiles with mixed morphotype. Then a purity of 4 samples of the Cuban crocodile was verified with cyt b gene and nuclear DNA purity of all 7 tested individuals with LDHA gene and 13 microsatellites. Based on the obtained genetic characters I proceeded a likely kinship of the two groups of crocodiles and subsequently suggested an optimal breeding management within the ex-situ conservation

The semantics of the space in Slovenian poetry in 1918-1941
Kozár, Aleš ; Jensterle Doležal, Alenka (advisor) ; Langerová, Marie (referee) ; Černá, Milada (referee)
This study focuses on Slovene literature of the period of expressionism. This period has been frequently discussed in different ways. And even more, the inquiry into this field has been also touched with ideological pressures, especially the authors preferring catholic point of view or, even though, different avant-garde movements. Theoretical approaches were often confusing as well, because of the lack of distance to the matter of study or due to mixing the terminology. Thus, many of current studies show certain kind of misuse of differences of the interpretations of the texts. Even the most up-to-date books, that examine this period of Slovene literature, do not eliminate this problem (Franc Zadravec: Slovenska književnost II.). In this study I'm comparing both the texts and authors of its time and on the other hand historical approaches to the classification of these writers. In this way I want to prove certain stereotypes in reading and classifying them. It seems that until today new theoretical approaches do not cope with the complete change of thinking this period. Slovene literature does not even have new critical issues of some of its most representative figures (e.g. Anton Podbevšek) and that is why the rethinking of it is quite complicated.

Rationality of Human Action and Preferences
Horák, Vít ; Sojka, Milan (advisor) ; Mlčoch, Lubomír (referee)
The thesis criticizes the subjectivist-teleological principals of economics. Economics intended to work with the individual preferences without normative, or any other, bias. The neutrality is, however, distorted by deep assumption of the economic thought - the a priori causality between the preferences and action. The teleological perspective as it was introduced by Karel Engliš was sharply delimitated with respect to causality. Neoclassical and Austrian school, however, do mix causality and finality in their conceptions of action and preferences. My thesis strives to describe this mistake. It is also possible to formulate the theme of the thesis as criticism of the assumption of certain a priori rationality of human action. I try to clear up the notion of rationality, show the possibilities of its meaning and point out at the radicalism of any assumed causality it may encompass. I use the critical conclusions to outline a preference framework that would not repeat the identified mistakes, which would, however, set out from the subjectivist-teleological perspective as well.

Aldous Huxley's early novels of ideas: from Crome Yellow to Those Barren Leaves
Renner, Luboš ; Hilský, Martin (referee) ; Procházka, Martin (advisor)
The literary reputation of Aldous Huxley, the novelist, has scarcely ever been as good as that of Aldous Huxley, the essayist. In fact, as some critics claim, Huxley's novels have the crucial flaw of not being proper novels at all - they are (the critics say) 1 actually essays, some of them more skillfully dramatized than others. Whether the novels really suffer from their essayistic quality is a question to be answered by the reader; certain it is, though, that mixing the two genres, the novel and the essay, was Huxley's intention: As he once acknowledged in an interview, his aim as a novelist was ~to arrive, technically, at a perfect fusion of the novel and the essay"z. What are the main features of a Huxleyan essayistic novel? First , it is scarcity of plo t. In most Huxley' s novels nothing ever happens: people come and go, they meet and part, they (try to) make love, and - most importantly - they talk. This is, of course, true especially of Huxley's early conversation novels, a late novel like Ap e and E s s en c e probably being the most noticeable exception. Another aspect of the essayistic novel follows on the first. The scarce plot does not lead to any overall des i g n ; the novels end, as it were, in the middle of 'action'; there seems to be no single 'message' to be arrived at. Again, this...

National-Cultural Comparison of Generations X and Y in the Czech Republic and Impact on Marketing Mix
Hebersteinová, Ilona ; Čejka, Pavel (advisor) ; Matoušek, David (referee)
The aim of this work is to provide a theoretical overview of research studies on cultural differences and their critical evaluation. The quantitative research on national and cultural comparison of generations X and Y in the Czech Republic will be implemented on the basis of a reduced questionnaire used in the research of European Values Survey in 2008. The data analysis will focus both on the current research and creating a time series of selected variables, using the results of previous research within European Values Survey. The starting point for comparing the behaviour of Generation X and Generation Y will be the national-cultural model of World Values Survey, and the results will be applied to marketing mix. The conclusion provides an overview and evaluation of the particular generations in terms of cultural performance as well as of marketing.
