Reinhard Heydrich and Final Solution of the Czech Question
Vrabcová, Klára ; Rataj, Jan (advisor) ; Martínek, Miloslav (referee)
The person of Reinhard Heydrich was one of those fateful to the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. The first chapter of this paper attempts to prove that Heydrich's impact on the "Czech Question" is much greater than the eight months he spent in office as Deputy Reich Protector. It analyses different approaches to the solution of the Czech Question in Nazi plans and particularly, towards the end of the chapter, Heydrich's tendency towards one of these plans -- the memorandum of Secretary of State K. H. Frank. This memorandum anticipated two things: the temporary preservation of the Protectorate, the assimilation of people of suitable race and disposition and the expatriation of people of unsatisfactory race and of those opposing German rule. This thesis also attempts to prove that although Reinhard Heydrich planned the solution of Czech Question as a long-term process, the fulfilment of which could be considered only after a succesful war, he started the first steps already during the war. Great attention is given not only to his racial survey of the population, but also to his policy concerning Protectorate youth, who were meant to be caught up and reeducated within the Curatorium for the Education of Youth in Bohemia and Moravia. To ensure calm and economic health throughout the Protectorate, he applied his carrot-and-stick policy on the population. The occupation policy required a combination of short-term and long-term goals and application of the former to ensure the consequent accomplishment of the latter. The final chapter lays bare the reaction of the Czechoslovak foreign resistance to the situation in the Protectorate -- the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich. This act was supposed to empower the Czech underground movement and improve the status of the exiled government among Allies. Even though this operation of the foreign resistance caused a torrent of arrests and executions within the Protectorate, its foremost effect was to draw the attention of the world and the Media and to excite Allied recognition for the Czech domestic resistance.

Dangerous Products on the Czech Trade and System of International Exchange Information RAPEX
HONDLÍKOVÁ, Zuzana
My bachelor's thesis deals with problems of dangerous products on the market in the Czech Republic and with rapid alert system providing international exchange of information (RAPEX). The import of dangerous products to EU countries, which means also our country, is increasing because of the trade liberalization. Therefore, I wanted to find out in my thesis if non-proffessional public is informed about these problems and if people are interested in it. The aim of this thesis was to find out and analyse dangerous non-food products on the Czech market in 2011. As the Czech Republic is a member of the European Union, it is essential to see the analysis of international rapid alert system outputs in European standards. Furthermore, I focused on countries of origin that mostly import dangerous products and I monitored the usual kind of products. The data from Ministry of Health, Regional Health Protection Agencies and European Commission were used as a source of information for my research. By means of questionnaires I investigated knowledge of a specific group, namely mothers of preschool children. The problems of products dangerous for preschool children concern especially the mothers. The bachelor's thesis contains a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part deals with European Union and Czech legislative requirements for objects that are commonly used, included materials and objects coming into contact with food, toys, cosmetics and products for children up to three years old. Non-proffessional people play the role of product consumers, so their rights and obligations are also included in the theoretical part. Equally, activities and competences of Health Protection Agencies are involved. I chose a combined attitude to data collecting and analysing in the practical part of the thesis. At first data collection was accomplished, then it was studied by the method of side data analysis. Subsequently, a quantitative research was applied, where a feedback from non-proffessional public was gained. There I found out public's attitudes, knowledge and customer behaviour. Particular aims of the bachelor's thesis were met. It was established that respondents have not enough information about the problems or rather they do not pay much attention to them. Respondents also do not trust Regional Health Protection Agencies. However, their customer behaviour can be assessed positively. The side data analysis showed that products from China often come to European market, especially clothes and toys. The presence of carcinogenic hydroquinone seems to be the worst danger that can appear in cosmetic products. The biggest risk of toys and products for children up to three years old is asphyxication as a result of technical imperfections. The bachelor's thesis could be used as a helpful source when teaching hygiene of commonly used objects. Or it could be used in the mass media as a source of information for non-proffessional public.

From Libussa to Wlasta - from Vyšehrad to Děvín. Tale about Libussa and "the Woman's War" in the Literature of the 19th Century
Futtera, Ladislav ; Petrbok, Václav (advisor) ; Maidl, Václav (referee)
This thesis concentrates on the capturing of the portrayal of the Czech prehistory in the German literature, by the German-speaking authors originating from the Czech countries as well as in the Czech literature. The term 'Czech prehistory' is approached in terms of the Czech tales, with emphasis laid on the character of Princess Libussa (Libuše). The span of the thesis reaches from the Englightenment to the argument about the authenticity of the Rukopis královédvorský (Manuscript from Dvůr Králové) and the Rukopis zelenohorský (Manuscript from Zelená hora) in the 1880s. The thesis is divided into two parts. First, the development trends of the representation of the Czech prehistory are chronologically presented. The literary-historical development is discussed in relation to the changes in the concepts of German and Czech patriotism and nationalism. There is also a focus on the development of poetics and the shifts in the reception of prehistory during the periods of Enlightenment, Romanticism and Biedermeier. The changes in the character of Princess Libussa are compared of the possibilities of literary portrayal of Rübezahl (Krakonoš), the mythical ruler of the Giant Mountains, in literary works claiming allegiance to German or Czech patriotism and nationalism. In the second part, the portrayal...

Fatigue crack growth in 316L under uniaxial and torsional loading
Karol, Michal ; Chlupová, Alice ; Mazánová, Veronika ; Kruml, Tomáš
A study of fatigue crack initiation and growth in 316L austenitic stainless steel is reported. Fatigue experiments were performed at room temperature on full cylindrical specimens cycled axially (tension-compression) and on hollow cylindrical specimens tested in reversed torsion. Microstructure and damage evolution (crack initiation and growth) on the surface of mechanically and electrolytically polished specimens were observed using light and electron microscopy. An analysis of the orientation of microcracks and macrocracks which led to failure was made. Axially loaded specimens exhibited presence of several microcracks which resulted in macrocrack propagating perpendicularly to specimen axis. In the case of torsional loading, orientation of macrocrack propagation was dependent on applied load and presence of notches. High amount of short cracks initiated parallel to specimen axis. Long cracks exhibited a tendency to bifurcate with crack branches oriented at approximately 45° to the specimen axis.
