Glosová, Tereza ; Žáčková, Magdalena (advisor) ; Mengozzi, Chiara (referee)
The bachelor thesis La Calisto by Giovanni Faustini - Ovid and elements of commedia dell'arte aims to compare the libretto of La Calisto opera with the original story from Ovid's Metamorphoses, which serves as its inspiration. It examines Faustini's authentic portrayal of character personalities and actions, while also highlighting the character typology consistent with the main theatrical genre of seventeenth-century Venice - commedia dell'arte. The thesis aims to familiarize readers with the libretto's story, demonstrate the similarity of the work to the mentioned phenomena, and point out the deviations present in it, which make it authentic.
Who is homo sacer?
Staněk, Filip ; Petříček, Miroslav (advisor) ; Švec, Ondřej (referee)
In the work of Giorgio Agamben, the enigmatic figure of homo sacer appears. The life of this "sacred man" can be killed with impunity, but not sacrificed. Using the method of philosophical archaeology, Agamben dusts off the origin of some philosophical, political and religious concepts in order to shed light on the hidden mechanisms and structures of the Western political system. We live in a permanent state of exception, in which the space of bare life is increasingly identified with the political space. In this zone of indistinction, the fundamental categories on which modern politics was based lose their meaning. At the same time it covers the aporia of modern democracy: although it has devoted all its efforts to the liberation and happiness of human life, it is unable to protect this life from destruction. The thesis declares the task of analyzing the role of the "sacred man" in the dynamics of modern politics and at the same time trying to outline possible exit strategies from this prison of the biopolitical machine. Key words: state of exception, sovereignty, biopolitics, camp, sacredness, form-of-life, potentiality

PerfEval: Marrying unit testing with performance evaluation
Hrdý, Dominik ; Tůma, Petr (advisor) ; Hnětynka, Petr (referee)
When developing software, unit tests are commonly used. This thesis proposes Perf- Eval, a tool that performs performance testing in a similar way. The PerfEval tool is designed to compare the performance measurement results of two software versions and evaluate whether the performance of the newer version differs. The tool uses the results of measurements from common benchmarking frameworks. By comparing the results of measurements from these frameworks using statistical methods, it detects changes in performance between versions. Just as unit tests alert the user if their code is incorrect, PerfEval also alerts the user to changes in performance. PerfEval is a console application, so it can be easily controlled from scripts just like unit tests.
Analysis of heart rate variability (HRV) during simulated operational stress in military personnel
Velda, Jan ; Maleček, Jan (advisor) ; Hráský, Pavel (referee)
Title: Analysis of Heart Rate Variability (HRV) During Simulated Operational Stress in Military Personnel. Goal: To analyze the effect of a three-day simulated operational stress on Heart Rate Variability (HRV) in individuals without the presence of sleep deprivation and caloric deficit. Methods: This bachelor's thesis combines empirical and theoretical approaches. The research sample included four students from the Military Department at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, Charles University (FTVS UK) in Prague, divided into control and experimental groups (two students in each group). All participants were physically fit and healthy individuals with an average age of 22.5 ± 1.91 years, an average height of 185.75 ± 4.19 cm, and an average weight of 89.5 ± 7.59 kg. Before the actual measurement, participants filled out the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS10), and the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD RISC), and their baseline HRV values were measured. Then they underwent a three-day stress protocol of simulated military operational stress (SMOS), designed to simulate conditions that soldiers may encounter during combat deployment. This protocol included the "Tactical Mobility Test" (TMT) battery, consisting of seven tests: reaction speed, shooting,...

This study covers the indirect impacts of the Iranian Nuclear Deal, which was negotiated between Iran and several world powers and EU, which played the major role in the negotiation. The thesis evaluates the European Union's approach to the negotiations after the Nuclear Agreement through the perspective created framework of Sewell's Structuration Theory and Theory of Security Complexes. In its second part, the thesis provides a brief overview of the major events that accompanied the negotiations as well as those that occurred during the subsequent period. Furthermore, this case study focuses on events and activities that can be considered indirect effects of the abovementioned diplomatic negotiations. The thesis sets out to analyse the less obvious impacts of the negotiated agreement, which may be overlooked in the...
Analysis of marketing and monetization models in mobile videogames
Ždímal, Matěj ; Koblovský, Petr (advisor) ; Vranka, Marek (referee)
This bachelor's thesis describes the history of videogame evolution, which culminates in mobile videogames. This thesis focuses on commonly employed monetization practices in such games. The context of their conception is necessary to allow the reader to truly understand why an how these practices came to be. This bachelor's thesis also focuses on dark patterns and manipulative game design that is often incorporated into these games as a way of enforcing their monetization. Some of these practices are widely known, such as lootboxes. Many other mechanics that are also questionable in regards to their ethics are relatively uknown. This thesis aims to inform the reader about some of the the more obscure practices. The presence of such malicous design will be investigated in a series of case studies, which will also shed light onto the fact, that some of these practices might seem innocent to the uninformed. A survey has been conducted to determine to what degree the public is informed about what a dark pattern is, and wether they came into contact with such mechanics. The survey also examines whether the public would be inclined to accept laws, that would protect minors and adults alike against manipulative techniques and dark patterns. In the summary a suggestion was proposed, aimed towards those...

The Effect of Language Perception and Production on Conceptualization of Motion Events
Sloupová, Tereza ; Gerwien, Johannes (advisor) ; Chromý, Jan (referee)
The Effect of Linguistic Context on Conceptualization of Motion Events - Abstract EN This thesis reviews the methodology of experimental research of thinking for speaking with focus on studies of so-called "seeing for speaking."Within these studies, the effects of language on thinking are typically interpreted in connection with the act of verbalization; the thesis argues why it may be good to consider the role played by linguistic context of the verbalization, which may already pre-activate the conceptualization patterns in question. We conducted an experiment focused on the effects of grammatical aspect on visual attention in motion events, which piloted a possible method of involving context: Czech-English bilinguals were tasked to describe clips of motion events in a Czech or English block, while at the same time listening to unrelatedbackgroundaudiointhe respective language. This was then compared toa third block, in which the verbalization language and the language of the background audio were incongruent. The experiment does not lead to a conclusion on the effect of context as it did not show significant differences in visual attention in the first two monolingual blocks, potentially due to cognitive demands of the task or to the mixed conceptualizations of bilinguals. There are, however, interesting...
The impact of positioning on consumer perceptions of co-branding campaigns in the FMCG category with a focus on Gen Z
Hofmanová, Kristýna ; Průša, Přemysl (advisor) ; Konrádová, Marcela (referee)
This paper examines the impact of brand positioning on consumer perceptions of co-branding campaigns in the FMCG category from the perspective of Generation Z. Specifically, it focuses on the influence in linking brands with functional and hedonic positioning, and also looks at the perception differences between local and global brands. The theoretical part of the thesis analyses existing research on branding in general, but also in relation to FMCG and Gen Z preferences. The practical part includes the analysis and interpretation of interviews with members of Gen Z, in which they were asked to evaluate fictional collaborations of existing brands that were designed to tap into all the aforementioned types of positioning. The binding element of the fictional collaborations was the Czech ice cream brand Prima, which appeared in all the proposals. The results showed the importance of the presence of a common brand attribute and its use in joint communication in all fictional collaborations. The authenticity of the cooperation, the added value for them or their surroundings was also important for the respondents, and they also evaluated the linking of local brands very positively.
