Qualifications according to the needs of the time

This bachelor thesis Qualifications according to the needs of the time deals with the lifelong learning, its main idea and the main signs of the society of knowledge. It deals with the kinds and division of lifelong learning. Further the strategic documents are pointed out, on which is the main conception of this thesis, based on. The second part describes the concept of lifelong learning in Czech Republic. Here the main goals of lifelong learning are described and the way of cooperation of the systems and organizations, which are involved in its realization. The last part of this bachelor thesis is directed on the interview analysis. Here is shortly characterized the methodology of quantum research followed by its evaluation. The interviews were made with the employers in security services, who have the biggest experiences with lifelong learning in Czech Republic.
Overqualification: real or artificial problem?

The imbalance in the labor market between the supply of and demand for skills is a widespread phenomenon that may contribute to unemployment and lower productivity and competitiveness. This diploma thesis aims to explore and understand the complex phenomena of skill mismatches on the labor market. As skill mismatch manifests itself in various forms, there exist different but also related concepts of educational or qualification and skill mismatches. In the first part a clear distinction between skill and qualification mismatch is made, the links between different types of mismatches are described and the debate of using each of the concepts is situated as well as the comparison of advantages and disadvantages of different concepts. Next part of this thesis concerns also with potential causes of mismatches in the labor market as well as its consequences and implications for individuals, businesses and society as a whole. In the next section, the information on possible measures of educational or qualification and skill mismatches is offered and the comparison of these measures is made. Success of school leavers in the knowledge society

The thesis concentrates on unintended consequences of putting emphasis on education in the current society and their impacts on labour market success of school graduates as well as on fulfilment of employers needs from the perspective of occupying job positions in accordance with the demographic aging of the population. The thesis is trying to answer the question, if education has an adequate influence on the social mobility as it was in the recent past. The author is also trying to suggest possible solutions of the situation occurred on the labour market from the viewpoint of the qualified labour shortage with lower educational level, especially in the secondary sector. Possibilities are seen in the consistent assertion of the LLL conception, increasing the relevance of the education content and adapting to the changing requirements of qualifications through of cooperation between schools and employers. Last but not least the thesis also draws attention to the need of relevant information about the labour market development and chances of graduates to find a job in the chosen field.

The concept of lifelong education and lifelong learning in the context of European integration

This bachelor work deals with an area of lifelong education and lifelong learning within the context of European integration. Lifelong learning is a natural part of every individual and it also becomes a necessity for a constantly growing group of people. The goal is to introduce the concept of lifelong learning, its origins, development and significant partial aspects in European conception of the 20th century. Problems of an originating system and priorities of lifelong learning since 60's of the 20th century are covered in this work as well as relationship of European policies, position and possibilities of an individual, some accompanying phenomena and difficulties of the process. Even though some questions concerning the lifelong learning concept and its current shape are left opened because concept realization is still alive, proceeding and discussed process, an attempt for complex and frame description of the situation in the European Union and the Czech Republic has been made. This work is supposed to briefly and transparently resume the development in past decades and the current state and also bring reader to deeper reflection.
The issue of further education and its implementation in the conditions of a particular company

This bachelor work deals with the issues of further education. The theoretical part describes the situation of conceptual and systemic further education of employees in the Czech republic. It also deals with the role of the government in supporting the further education, typical features characterising the in-company education and general motive and attitude to further education of adults. The practical part deals with description of the state of further education within a specific company. It is also focused on analysis of problems which follow the process of education.The outcome of this work is recomendation of the realisation to the company where the research was made.
