This thesis deals with the issue of school readiness and procedures for the assessment. It focuses on achieving individual developmental areas for children before they enter school, the conduct of the assessment of maturity and option diagnostic tools. The objective of this work is to identify most vulnerable and high-risk areas for school children before entering school and the possibility of stimulation. It also presents the possibility of using screening tests and presentation of their results. The aim of this thesis is based on the utilization of available screening tests in a sample of children, including the latest diagnostic tools maters, the practical part of the work and the conclusions of this thesis, which dealt with the appropriate options stimulation attenuated developmental areas. Role of the teacher and his/her responsibility in assessing student's maturity when enrolling in the first grade of primary school

The topic of this diploma thesis is devoted to the issue of a children enrolment to the first form of a basic school as an important milestone in their life. The theoretical part deals with the topic of the enrolment in its full scale. The author presents an overview concerning the issue of school maturity, school preparedness and their diagnostics. Further she deals with the topic of a postponement of school attendance and legislation. The main chapter of the theoretical part is the topic of competencies which a teacher of primary education should have at disposal during enrolments. In the practical part of this diploma thesis the author gives space to teachers, who, by means of a questionnaire and an unstructured interview, reflect their opinions and feelings concerning their role during enrolments. The author deals with their pedagogical competency. The teachers have an opportunity to present their opinions about the current form of the enrolment procedure. The outcome of this thesis is a discussion about usefulness of the current enrolment procedure and concrete suggestions for a change.
Using of NTC method to the development of partial functions of preschool children

This dissertation is focused on the development of skills of children in preschool age. The work is split into the theoretical and practical parts. The chapters of the theoretical part deal with the characteristics of child's progress in preschool age as well as with partial function development, personal growth and upbringing in the preschool age. The work is focused on the education of children in preschools and on the monitoring of school maturity. The practical part of the dissertation concentrates on the implementation of the NTC Stimulation Programme into the pedagogical and educational activities of the Salomon Preschool, a private education center for preschool children. In the practical part, the NTC method is evaluated based on the comparison of the research group with a control group consisting of children attending state preschool. Furthermore appropriate activities for preschool children are recommended. The recommended activities are focused on the support of specific key competencies and skills. Integration of boy in the regular nursery school

A dissertation "Integration of a boy with atypical autism into regular kindergarten" has the aim to present a particular process of integration in the regular kindergarten. It gives you a brief characteristic of preschool age, education in preschool age and a procedure of integration and related circumstances. A theoretical part brings you a view of child development in preschool period, specifics of preschool education and a process of integration in the Czech Republic. A research project has the aim to chart how is the integration perceived by three people who are involved in the integration. It is about the attitude of a mother, a headmistress and a class teacher who has been teaching the boy this year. Next there are given the tests that have the aim to determine the boy's current school maturity. These diagnostic tools were used - Orientational graphic test of the school maturity (Jirásek, 1970), Observational scheme for assessment of the school maturity (Kondáš, 1984). Options of development of partial functions of pre-school children Abstract This thesis is focused on issue of the development of partial functions in preschool age and mapping of the course of development of partial functions in kindergartens in Karlovy Vary Region and Prague. The task of the theoretical part is to define the notions of partial functions and partial functions deficits and to explain their relationship to specific learning disabilities. It describes the characteristics of preschool age and options of development of partial functions in its course. It includes basic information about school maturity, pedagogical- psychological diagnostics of children in kindergartens. It mentions also the child's enrollment in the first grade of primary school and school attendance delay. The aim of practical part is to map the access of kindergarten teachers to options of development of partial functions in Karlovy Vary Region and Prague, comparing the survey results obtained in these two regions and supplement obtained data with the information gathered from the interview. Parent's Motives for Postponing Child's Compulsory School Attandance

In my Master Thesis, I am dealing with the issue of posponing child's school attendance with a special regard to the motives of parents leading to suspension. The Thesis is bothe theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part is mapping the theme of suspended school attendance and socio-pedagogical aspects related to the decision making process leading to suspension. The empirical part offers selected examples of parents' motivation apllying for postponing of their child's education. My research is based on interview and questionnaire. I used available Czech materials as a source of expert information and I draw from the experience of my empirical research in the last chapter.
Diagnostics and eligibility of students upon entry to primary school

This thesis deals with diagnostics of school maturity. It inquires to what extent the screening test of school maturity is able to predict the future school success of a child. Furthermore, it describes the problems of influence of gender, age, city and countryside environment, parents' education and completeness of a child's family on their success at school. The thesis consists of two parts. The first part defines the main characteristics of preschool age, deals with problems of school maturity, its diagnostics, it indicates possible impacts on school maturity. Finally, it describes school immaturity and school attendance postponement. The research part focuses on children's results from the screening test of school maturity and compares them with their marks in the first grade of primary school and indicates the predictive validity of the screening test using statistical methods. Moreover, it statistically evaluates the influence of the chosen factors on school maturity.
