Use of information technology in research-oriented teaching of probability and statistics
KOPECKÝ, Jiří
This dissertation focuses on the integration of random set simulations into the teaching of probability and statistics in high schools using an inquiry-based approach. The aim is to determine whether such integration can contribute to changing the perception of these subjects among high school students. The research question is: "How does the use of random set simulations in research-oriented teaching affect the perceptions and attitudes of grammar school students towards the subjects of probability and statistics?" The study involved an analysis of the responses of 52 respondents from the control and experimental groups who completed semantic differential questionnaires. The 110 t-tests conducted showed that there were statistically significant differences in the responses of the two groups in the perceptions within the semantic space of students for probability as faster and more varied and for statistics as more useful. In the didactic reconstruction of the content for the secondary level, learning objectives were set at three levels of sophistication. The results showed that more than half of the high school students were able to create simulations of random sets with clusters or regular sets and to detect and eliminate the most common errors. Research suggests that incorporating random set simulations into the classroom can be an effective tool for improving understanding and increasing interest in probability and statistics. Moreover, this method supports the development of digital competences and programming skills, which are increasingly important in today's educational environment. The work also shows that random set simulations can help high school students to better understand the basic concepts of statistics and probability, which is important in the context of their growing importance in the modern world.
The Influence of single harmonics or formants on timbre color perception
Klimeš, Martin ; Indrák, Michal (referee) ; Jirásek, Ondřej (advisor)
This thesis is dealing with the research of the influence of individual harmonic on the perception of sound color. An application was created with a questionnaire in which respondents assessed a total of 29 samples on different bipolar scales. The samples were either modeled by additive synthesis or created by modifying musical instruments. The aim was to investigate how and what combinations of higher harmonic affect the perception of sound color. The experiment is based on the semantic differential method. The samples were divided into several groups and within these groups they were compared and related to the expected color perception.
Analysis of pitch perception depending on the spectrum
Slávik, Martin ; Indrák, Michal (referee) ; Jirásek, Ondřej (advisor)
This thesis is dealing with the research of the influence of individual harmonic components on the perception of sound height. As a part of the work has been made an internet questionnaire on a web address www.analyzavyšek.9e.cz, where individual respondents completed listening test compound of 46 samples. This experiment is based on semantic differential method. Individual samples are compound of sine wave – tone and examined sample, which respondents evaluates on three bipolar scales. The samples were either modelled by additive synthesis or modified sampled sounds of instruments. Individual samples were divided to four major groups and other minor groups for clarity. The purpose was to find which parts, combinations and harmonic components of sound and tone can affect perception of tone height.
Alternative use of Szondi test as a diagnostic tool
Pokorná, Martina ; Bahbouh, Radvan (referee) ; Niederlová, Markéta (referee)
The rigorous thesis analyzes the Szondi test and its theory in the light of current knowledge. Its aim is to examine the potential of this diagnostic method and to consider the possibilities of its application. On the basis of the free-association research, the direction of interest has divided into three studies. The first of them verifies the relationship of Szondi's theory with personality characteristics, that are attributed to individual photos (stimulus material) on the scale of the semantic differential. In most cases, the results confirm significant differences between the factors. In the second study, the narrative approach is selected, it means "telling stories" method will be used for discover the projective potential. Qualitative analysis indicates, that stories have some similarities - in the context of given factors, however, they almost never follow Szondi's assumptions. The data does suggest, that Szondi test has a potencial to insight into the important topics of the respondent's life. The third study examines the relationship between the Szondi test and selected personality characteristics measured by Szondi test. The research confirmed the connection between a choice of photographs and some of detected personality qualities. KEY WORDS: Szondi test, projection, face perception,...
Mental disorders from the contemporary society point of view
HAJSÁK, Radek
The bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of attitudes and stigmatization towards selectedmental disorders, specifically schizophrenia and depression. The work is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part first deals with the overarching topic of stigmatization and its consequences for the mentally ill. Furthermore, this part is gradually devoted to individual mental disorders and their comprehensive description. In the concluding chapter, these stigmatizations are connected with a specific mental disorder. The empirical part, which is due to the quantitative differential of the semantic method. The main goal of the work is to find out what attitudes contemporary society takes towards individual mental disorders. Furthermore, it focuses on identifying the differences between the perception of these two disorders, the differences in the responses of the respondents based on their socio-demographic characteristics such as gender, age, highest level of education and the size of the residence (permanent residence). In conclusion, I get to the differences in the answers based on personal experiences with individual disorders.
This dissertation examines the possibilities of guiding secondary school students to self- regulation in situations of challenging behavior

Mgr. Michal Dubec Dissertation The possibilities of guiding secondary school students to self-regulation in situations of challenging behavior. Abstract This dissertation examines the possibilities of guiding secondary school students to self- regulation in situations of challenging behavior. The thesis is divided into five chapters of which the first four represent their theoretical background. The first chapter is devoted to pupils' behavior. It describes different types of pupils' behavior that deviate from teachers' expectations. Challenging pupils' behavior is defined and its etiology is described on this basis. The second chapter is devoted to pupils' self-regulation. The term Challenging pupils' behavior is defined firstly and then selected concepts of self-regulation and maps of anchoring of pupils' self-regulation in current curricular documents are introduced. It is concluded by describing the individual components of self-regulation that can be addressed to teachers for developing it. The third chapter is devoted to communication between teachers and pupils in situations of challenging behavior. There is a focus directed here primarily at relational signals of communication, relationally risky statements, and impact of relational levels of communication on the development of pupils'...
The Attitudes Formed by Geographical Education
Kunová, Šárka ; Řezníčková, Dana (advisor) ; Hanus, Martin (referee)
This thesis deals with students attitudes, that are an interface between pedagogy, sociology, psychology and subject didactics. The main objective of this thesis is to zoom attitudes, refer to level of theirs processing in curriculum documents, make a suggestion of attitudes, present methods of their detection and comment examples of last research. These objectives are undermining the structure of thesis. The first part defines the available literature on key concepts. It is followed by analysis of curriculum documents from Czech Republic and selected countries in terms of completion and particular attitudes in them. Based on the analysis of curriculum documents a proposal focused on areas where the teaching of geography should be concentrating in Czech Republic is presented. The fifth chapter outlines the methods used to measure attitudes that can be used for the planned research. Then in the sixth chapter examples of studies and researches aimed at identifying the positions using the above mentioned methods are stated. The thesis is concluded with the effort to assess the status and degree of completion of the positions in the current Czech education and outline the planned investigations of students' attitudes. Keywords: attitude - classification - curriculum - semantic differential - Czechia

Kunová, Šárka ; Řezníčková, Dana (advisor) ; Chromý, Pavel (referee)
This thesis deals with the question of prestige of subject Geography. Its aim is to explain how much prestige university students attach to Geography, with the help of semantic differential method, and where they place this term in the semantic field of terms. The research was conducted with questionnaire survey which focused on the comparison between the perception of Geography and other subjects, and at the same time the comparison of value judgement of Geography students and students of different programmes. The first part of the thesis explains the key words and the methods of the research into prestige conducted so far. They were analysed and on the basis of this analysis notional parameters of prestige attached to a subject were set. The following part is the main part. It consists of the questionnaire survey, including the evaluation and interpretation of the results, which is followed by suggestions for improvement of the prestige of Geography, with the use of chosen marketing tools. Key words: prestige; social status; value judgement; attitude; geography; semantic differential; marketing
