The thesis focuses on school media that are created by students and teachers at schools. The project's introduction briefly defines basic terms and main types of school media. Specifics of the single school media and their content are shortly described. Following chapters are devoted to history and development of school media in the few past years at our territory. The theory part lists the most frequent topics chosen for school media along with factors of motivation that influence media creation. Part of the thesis deals with selected school documents, specifically 'Educational Framework Program' where stress is put on possibilities to use school media during the lessons of media education at elementary and secondary grammar schools. Second part of the thesis focuses on a specific case study where results from the research are presented. In the research it selfone type of school media, school TV of Secondary Grammar School in Pribram, is deeply analysed. The goal of the research is to investigate the course of preparation, planning and realization of the school reporting. At tempt of the thesis is also to describe what kind of students are becoming school reporters and why, last but not least what is the technical equipment of the school and what is the response of the school media audience.
Regional reporting of Czech Television in years 1992 - 2012 by internal staff

The main aim of this work is to describe the history and development of Czech Television's regional news coverage in years from 1992 till 2012, using the testimonies of direct TV staff involved in this reporting beyond the available resources, thereby expanding the amount of information on this issue. To achieve this information, the oral history method was used and the subsequent verification of the information obtained was done using the literature, diploma theses, annual reports and other sources in this work specified. The result of this work is the extension and addition of new facts and information about the history of Czech Television's regional news, especially of internal character, not yet obtainable from available professional publications or public reports and data. These include information on the nature of interpersonal relations in regional news, the attempt to influence the outward processing and thematic focus of the editorial offices and the specific technical and structural development of individual regional editorial offices. The role of embedded journalism in reporting on Medecins Sans Frontieres missions

Médecins Sans Frontières is one of the most respected humanitarian organisations in the world, they focus mainly on providing medical care in places of emergency and war. These places are also interesting for journalists who can take advantage of the protection on the missions while also acquiring unique stories. Working in conflicted areas under a protection of an organisation is called embedded journalism. This concept has been until now studied in connection with army when journalists travel with soldiers. Therefore, their view of war can be distorted. However, a journalist who travels with Médecins Sans Frontières may also have a distorted view of world. Twelve journalists from around the world, who visited the missions and documented the work of doctors, gave interviews for this diploma thesis. In the interviews, they described their experiences, the advantages and disadvantages of being embedded, and how the organisation may have influenced their work. Several Médecins Sans Frontières workers have also shared their experience. The interviews were put in context by a content analysis that focused on the articles and photographs made on missions by these journalists.
The first year of operation of Newsweek magazine on Czech media market

This bachelor thesis is focusing on functioning of Czech language edition of Newsweek, which started its production on local media market in November 2015 and was closed down after thirteen months in December of upcoming year 2016. The goal of publishers and editorial staff was to offer potential readers information from foreign countries under famous and licensed American brand. Aim of this thesis is to introduce beginnings and functioning of Czech Newsweek, as well as to compare it with its original model and likewise focused magazine Reportér. Content analysis of Czech Newsweek and Reportér is also a subject of interest of this bachelor thesis. Due to unexpected termination of production was researched sample extended to all published issues, in order for this text to properly reflect the process and possible reasons for stopping the circulation of this Czech licensed magazine. Theoretical findings, utilized to classify Newsweek within Czech media market in first chapter, were gained from professional publications connected to media functioning and history. Slow journalism and its Czech manifestations on the example of the Reporter magazine

Slow journalism is a trend that stands against the current forms of journalism. It doesn't need to get the stunning and sensational news first. Instead, it puts information into perspective, offers deeper insight into the aspects of journalism and carefully crafts the contents of each issue. The concept of slow journalism is attracting more followers still and all the new press emerging especially abroad can be considered a proof of this trend. This bachelor thesis first offers a short insight into the history of journalism and analyzes the current media environment which is influenced mainly by advances in technology. Subsequently, this thesis introduces the concept of slow journalism as a trend that diverges from the current fragmentary and abbreviating journalism and returns to the roots of the traditional journalism itself. In the next part of this thesis its main characteristics are introduced as well as the most important representatives of slow journalism abroad. The last part of the thesis describes the origins and business operations of the Czech magazine Reporter which has been established in 2014 by the former editor in chief of MF DNES Robert Čásenský, with whom also a few of his former colleagues joined the magazine. The Transformation of Radio Report between 1926 and 1989

This thesis focuses on the historical development of radio reportage. The topic includes both political and technological aspects which radio reportage underwent within the Czech environment. All historical periods are described using concrete radio reportages which were broadcast during given terms. The reader can imagine how the radio reporters dealt with first the Germans and then the Soviets. It was the Czech Radio and its reporters who helped Czech people to overcome certain periods in our history. And so in this thesis we can find reportages broadcast during the second world war, right after the end of this war and during the highlights of the communist era - 1968 and 1989. This publication considers the original sources which are kept in the archive of the Czech Radio which is called Archivní a programové fondy Českého rozhlasu. However, this thesis also includes some contributions of contemporary journalists who are interested in history. It should help readers to improve the knowledge of this topics and to organize the development of radio reportage.
The Image ofa Journalist in Hollywood Films

The objective of this thesis, The Image of a Journalist in Hollywood Film, is to interpret the images of journalists created in Hollywood films in the period from 1997 to 2007 by means of qualitative and comparative analyses. The analysis is carried out based on journalist characters appearing as protagonists in thirteen motion pictures from the given period. The comparison of the characters is executed within three groups, classified according to the type of journalist - investigative journalists, celebrity and lifestyle journalists and television anchormen and reporters. The characters are compared to each other from the point of view of physical appearance, character traits, family and social relations, their attitude towards authorities, the most common stereotypes and other character's perception of them. The summarization and data evaluation of the analysis confirms that journalist stereotypes do not often occur in this period, the protagonists are predominantly portrayed as heroes and that the differences outweigh the similarities.
The Case of Rudolf Barák in the Media in the Period of Prague Spring

Bachelor thesis "The Case of Rudolf Barak in the Media of the Prague Spring" deals with the liberalization of the media in 1968 in Czechoslovakia and demonstrates this on a media affair of former Interior Minister Rudolf Barak. It describes reform trends and their consequences in the political and media spheres during the sixties, political and social changes, major adjustments in media legislation and changes in the media organization, rehabilitation processes with political prisoners. It summarizes the major events that shaped the career of Rudolf Barak, his work in the Communist Party and the Ministry of the Interior, his struggle for power, his arrest, investigation and imprisonment, and finally his release and efforts for rehabilitation. This thesis analyses media contents of three representative printed periodicals from this period and evaluates media coverage of the process with Rudolf Barak in 1962 and of his release from prison in 1968, it also compares the media image of Rudolf Barak in selected periodicals.
NEWSROOM OF TV NOVA AT THE BEGINNING OF THE 21 ST CENTURY

Bachelor thesis "Newsroom of TV Nova at the Beginning of the Second Decade of the 21st Century" describes everyday life in a modern private television's newsroom in the age of speed, technical achievements and visual attraction. It also defines important aspects of daily work in the newsroom and interactions among its members. TV Nova's newsroom produces the most watched news cast in the Czech Republic; however it does not contain tens of reporters. Chamber character of the newsroom reflects in friendly relationships and close cooperation among all its members. This limits rivalry to a certain degree. Newsroom TV Nova, considering several news cast produced during the day, works constantly. Except of the weekends, news for Breakfast with Nova are prepared during the night and there are preparation for afternoon and evening news casts running since early morning. Therefore, the newsroom is never empty. Demanding everyday working hours have built a certain routine in numerous reporters. Those, who work here for many years, even suggest feelings of "burn out". Freshmen on the other hand consider working scheme appropriate.

The thesis deals with the polarization of Czech media landscape after 2013 as a discursive construct. Our topic is the emergence of new media projects, responding to the takeover of MAFRA by Andrej Babis. Three of these are being discussed: Echo24.cz, Reportér and Neovlivní.cz. The thesis aims to describe the discourse of the alternative media, its own representation in current situation. The subject is based on several concepts. First of them is the theory of social responsibility, which is a strong social value despite being quite questionable. Then, we discuss the trend of media ownership concentration and the development of Czech media after 1989, which has come to important changes, such as the change of the overall model of media ownership and the polarization of the media landscape itself. The first part of the thesis serves as a contextual background for the critical discourse analysis. The analysis verifies the hypothesis as follows: Alternative media is defined in opposition to the mainstream and uses the arguments based on the principles of the social responsibility theory to represent its own position, goals and interests.
