The policy of inflation targeting

This bachelor paper deals with theoretical aspects of inflation targeting and with estimating of executing this policy in conditions of our economy. I mention important conclusions of economists, like Ben Bernanke and his conception of inflation targeting like a framework for constrained discretion, than strict rule, in the first part. Than, in the second part, I focuse on detailed analysis of periods, when specific target was not achieved. I notice both my own conclusions, and reasons, which Czech national bank found in her Inflation reports. The analysis is replenished with wide prism of graphs, which are either assumed from Inflation reports or created on the basis of data provided by Czech national bank or Czech statistic office. Graphs created on my own are condensed in supplement at the end of my paper.
The changes in the localization of the extractive industry and the political consequences.

The bachelor thesis analyzes the global changes in the territorial structure of the extraction of the mineral resources, especially the energy resources and less some precious metals and diamonds and related political consequences. This bachelor thesis describes also the importance of these resources for human society and their deposits. There are also outlined possible future development of the extraction of these resources. The first chapter illustrates general characteristic of the extractive industry. It introduces the ranking of the extractive industry, main mining regions and the biggest producers of some minerals. The second chapter closely presents energy resources, i. e. mining of energy resources, their deposits, their usage and possible future developments. The third chapter focuses on the mineral resources, i. e. their extraction, deposits, usage and possible future trends. The fourth chapter introduces the political consequences related with global changes in the territorial structure of the extraction of the mineral resources.
Information, knowledge and communication as a system implements for development of european community

The main goal of this essay is to have a closer look at functionality of the European Union from the perspective of usage information, knowledge and communication. These three instruments are the main elements in presented analyses. The essay is divided into three parts which have logical order. The first part deals with definition of system instruments - information, knowledge and communication. There is mentioned their meaning with link to the European Union. The second part is dedicated to the system of the European Union, its policy, especially in a field of information society, communication within the European Union, information and communication technologies. There is a history, enlargement and principle of working of the main institutions described in a system of the European Union. There is deep analysis of main programs eEurope and i2010 in the part describing information society. The part dealing with communication describes the most important communication linkages running in the European Union. The third part is dedicated to the comparison of technology usage, information literacy and outlines future development of European Union.
Regional disequelibrium and solution of this by INTERREG IIIA program

The bachelor thesis focuses on problems of regional and structural policy. In theoretical part there are described the reasons of the creation of regional policy, substance, principles, tools and historical development. This thesis deals with international cooperation which is supported by the program called INTERREG IIIA, in Czech republic. Another part deals with comparison of programmmatic differencies on czech-polish borders during the 2004-2006 and the 2007-2013 period. Practical part analyzes results from all five borders (Saxony, Bavaria, Austria, Slovakia, Poland) during the 2004-2006 period. The target of this thesis is tio analyze the significance of regional policy in Czech republic by using INTERREG IIIA program.

Development Policy of the European Union with Focus on Colombia

Bc. Malá, Václava: Development Policy of the European Union with a view to Colombia, Prague. Department of World Economy, Faculty of International Relations, University of Economics in Prague, 2009, 68 pages, Head: Ing. Josef Abrhám, Ph.D. The thesis focuses on the issue of the evolution of development policy and administration of development aid by the European Union as whole (i.e. the European Commission) as well as by individual member states. The case study looking into Colombia analyses putting the development policy and development assistance into practice. The thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter defines historical links between the European and developing countries, stipulates basic notions connected to the issue as well as defines the European Union institutions having development policy and development assistance in their respective agendas. Various forms of development aid are described at the end of the first chapter. The second chapter deals with prospective trends in the progress of development policy and development aid. Therefore, the Lisbon Treaty and the 10th European Development Fund are analysed in particular. The third chapter focuses on how development policy and development assistance are exercised in the Colombian case. The conclusion of the thesis contains a statement about a substantial importance of European Union in the field of granting international development assistance.
EU and OPEC: energy dialogue

Oil is a strategic raw material for many sectors of national economies. For oil extracting countries it represents a comparative advantage to those who do not have this privilege. The European Union is by 80% dependent on oil imports and OPEC has a 40% share of the world oil production. In the same way regular and safe energy supply matters for the EU, export markets are equally essential for OPEC. The EU-OPEC bilateral cooperation started in 2005 in order to enhance producer-consumer dialogue during a period characterized by growing crude oil prices and uncertainties on oil markets. Concerning the strategy, EU aims at more stable and transparent crude oil prices and markets, more attractive investment climate, better analysis and cooperation in developing new technologies. OPEC seeks to assure regular oil supply to consumers and to contribute to stable oil prices. Five meetings have taken place so far. Among some of the discussed topics were: crude oil prices, carbon capture and storage technologies, biofuels and others alternative sources of energy, investment in oil sector, human resources and data transparency.
Export promotion in Brazil

This bachelor's thesis is dedicated to the analysis of Brazilian export promotion. The first chapter is focused on Brazilian commercial policy, covering the evolution of balance of payments and territorial and commodity structure. The second chapter covers the export promotion programs that are running in Brazil nowadays. The third chapter is dedicate to evaluate a performance of those programs.
Drug policy of czech republic: myths and dearly paid reality

The thesis aims to make reader acquainted with basic principles of economical theory applied to drug prohibition and to describe the substance of government based on reducing reducing drug offer in Czech republic. Affinity between expenses and resulting effects that prohibition bears is being analyzed based on available data. We can notice that tax payer pays not even for battle against drug dealing , but even for drug addict healthcare, lawsuits penitentiary , whereas effects of these correctional measurements might be weak.
Main insurance processes and its supporit by TIA and SAP appliactions

The thesis describes insurance, its main processes and support of the processes by SAP and TIA applications. The goal is to analyze and describe policy management and claims management processes, find out to what extent are these processes supported by TIA and SAP and compare the applications in conclusion. Description of the processes is based on author's working experience and experts' advices. The comparison of TIA and SAP applications is made according to ISO 9126 and other more specific criteria. Rating of the characteristics was made by TIA and SAP experts. Benefit of the thesis is description of support of main processes by SAP and TIA applications and its comparison.
