Hardware Acceleration of Algorithms for Approximate String Matching
Nosek, Ondřej ; Kořenek, Jan (referee) ; Martínek, Tomáš (advisor)
Methods for aproximate string matching of various sequences used in bioinformatics are crucial part of development in this branch. Tasks are of very large time complexity and therefore we want create a hardware platform for acceleration of these computations. Goal of this work is to design a generalized architecture based on FPGA technology, which can work with various types of sequences. Designed acceleration card will use especially dynamic algorithms like Needleman-Wunsch and Smith-Waterman.

Hrubá, Michaela ; Heranová, Simona (advisor) ; Pelc, Vladimír (referee)
The imposition of penalties on the concurrence of crimes and recidivism Abstract This final thesis deals with the imposition of penalties on the concurrence of crimes, recidivism and related quasi-recidivism. Author: Jan Procházka Title: Analysis and Comparison of Power Plays at 2022 Men's World Floorball Championship and 2021 Junior's World Floorball Championship Objectives: Purpose of the bachelor thesis is to analyse and compare the game situations with uneven number of players on the play field at 2022 Men's and 2021 Junior's World Floorball Championships. Thesis analyses the offences that lead to power plays. Methods: The main method is indirect observation of power plays from match replays at the 2021 Junior's World Championship and 2022 Men's World Championship, their analysis and statistical comparison. Results: Results of the thesis are knowledges about the power plays at the 2021 World Junior's Championships and the 2022 World Men's Championships. The results present an analysis of power plays according to their success rate and shooting areas in goalscoring situations. The resulting data highlights the formations that leads to goal score and highlights the formations to defend power play. The formation with one player on the top was the most used for power play goal. Slashing recorded the most frequent incidence for penalty box ejection. Analysis of the effectiveness of the penalty kick in "the Champions League" in 2009-2019
HUŠEK, Jan
In this bachelor's thesis, we analyse all penalty kicks that were played in the UEFA Champions League over a 10-year period (2009-2019) in terms of performance efficiency. The aim of our work is to analyse and compare penalty kicks using rating scales in the UEFA Champions League during a period of 10 seasons. The partial aim is to create a profile of the so-called ideal shooter. In the analytical part of the work, we look at the historical and organisational analysis of the penalty kick and the basic characteristics of football, as well as the structure of football competitions. In the synthetic part of the work, we then analysed all the recorded penalty kicks from a total of 1250 matches and created rating scales and categories according to different specificities. Based on the data collected, we were also able to create a profile of the so-called ideal shooter. Despite obtaining successful results, we believe that the final values cannot be applied uniformly to all football competitions because of the different quality of players, clubs, competitions, and the uniqueness of this standard situation.
A History of Criminal Law in the Czech Lands in 1848-1989
Jablonický, Tomáš ; Kuklík, Jan (referee)
1 Summary Dissertation builds an objective, transparent, systematic and yet concise interpretation of the history of criminal law in the Czech lands in 1848-1989. The aim of this work is, however, not only to chronologically present the most important criminal codes, but also to tell a parallel story of criminal law science and criminology, which to a bigger or lesser degree substantially influenced the development of criminal law and criminal legislation. Therefore, this work also includes biographical and bibliographical profiles of leading Czech educators, criminal law scientists and criminologists - the founders and pioneers of Czech and Czechoslovak criminal law science, whose lives have been closely linked with the complicated socio-political events of the given historical period. History of criminal law shows a strong interconnection of criminal law and policy, which consequently causes the criminal law without proper criminal law science and criminology to be the most politically affected branch of law. For this dissertation is symptomatic the search for critical causes and factors that lead to progress or, on the contrary, to the decline of criminal law. In such moments, the criminal law science and criminology emerge again, naturally and clearly, from a scientific analysis of historical events of...
Topics in central banking
Brož, Václav ; Kočenda, Evžen (advisor) ; Tůma, Zdeněk (referee) ; Égert, Balázs (referee) ; Martin, Reiner (referee)
This dissertation consists of three research papers dealing with selected issues relevant for central banks after the global financial crisis. The post-crisis world has seen a significant strengthening of the role of central banks with regard to the financial system as well as the real economy. Correspondingly, agendas of some central bankers have grown substantially, encompassing among others monetary policy, financial stability (macro- and microprudential policies) as well as resolution mechanisms. This dissertation thesis reflects the broad focus of some contemporary central banks in three original research articles that concern current unexplored issues for monetary policy and financial stability in the European Union, the Czech Republic, and the United States, potentially bringing policy implications for the relevant authorities. The first article analyzes inflation convergence in the whole European Union (EU) over 1999-2017 and provides comprehensive and robust evidence that the process of inflation convergence among the countries of the EU was not permanently disrupted during the global financial crisis, the European sovereign debt crisis, or the period of zero lower bound interest rates. Specifically, the convergence process did not noticeably weaken after the crisis and the occurrence of...
