Influence of animations on pupils' motivation and academic achievements in Science education
Šarboch, David
The dissertation deals with the influence of interactive educational animations on the motivation and academic achievements of pupils. Currently, student motivation in teaching is a much discussed topic (Ikwuka et al., 2017). The authors of many studies, as well as the creators of national curricula, declare that it is necessary to focus on the transition from traditional teaching methods (eg. frontal teaching) to methods that activate pupils. At the same time, we are currently observing the low popularity of science subjects among primary and secondary school pupils (Szarka et al., 2014). Therefore, it is advisable to come up with methods that, on the one hand, create an interactive environment in which students can develop their knowledge, skills and competences, and on the other hand, interest and motivate students to further work. Thus, the main goal of the dissertation is to find out how animation affects the motivation and academic results of secondary school students (especially in science subjects). A didactic tool that could help fulfill these facts is educational animation. The majority of authors who deal with the issue of educational animations agree on the positive contribution of their use in classes in many aspects, however, there is currently a lack of research that has dealt with...

Learning exercises containing chemical calculations are necessary for complex understanding of some parts of chemical curriculum. This diploma thesis deals with creation and evaluation of worksheets containing multicomponent learning tasks closely connected to reality for pupils of elementary and high school. The theoretical part consists of the summary of present valid Czech curricular documents, mainly parts focused on chemical calculations and sustainable development. The main part of this thesis is creation of worksheets containing multicomponent learning tasks focused on different topics of chemistry which were chosen according to Framework Education Programmes. Created worksheets were verified and evaluated at high school. Based on evaluations of worksheets action research focused on problems during solving chemical calculations was conducted on elementary school.

Teachers, while teaching, are facing to some sections of schoolwork which make serious problems to understand. The main task of this diploma thesis is solving the issue of organic chemistry on the field of Gymnasium. The pedagogical attitude was chosen for the selection of problem parts. New educational materials were purposed on the basis of gathered information and thanks to the research the efficiency of teaching the organic chemistry and its problematic parts should augment the undestanding of the problematic parts as well as the bettering of education. Theoretical part of the diploma thesis looks into the methodology of pedagogical research, curriculum documents, didactic methods and forms and literature exploration of defined problem parts of textbooks of organic chemisty for the high schools. Chemical thermodynamics in chemisty education at grammar schools
Tříska, Jan ; Teplý, Pavel (advisor) ; Šmejkal, Petr (referee)
This bachelor thesis is focused on teaching chemical thermodynamics at the four-year grammar school. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the analysis of current curricula. Basic document is the Framework educational programme for grammar schools. Subsequently, in a few cases of the School educational programs my work present the scope of this topic at different grammar schools and inclusion in a school year. My thesis also includes reviews of the most widely used grammar school textbooks. Practical part of my thesis deals with creating my own textbooks of chemical thermodynamics for grammar schools. These textbooks should to be actually used in chemical thermodynamics education at grammar school in compulsory and optional chemistry subjects. These textbooks include a brief explanation of subject matter and teaching tasks encouraging pupils to be more active in class. They comprise all the essentials of secondary school textbooks and present all the grammar school matter of chemical thermodynamics and thermochemistry in detail. Both textbooks contain solutions of teaching tasks for teachers.
