Beetle armour
Polášková, Lucie ; Ryška, Pavel (referee) ; Vaněk, Vojtěch (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis deals with the creation of an author's accordion book, examining the relationship between textual and pictorial communication of information. The narrative is thematically set in the stylized realm of insects, where it works with the metaphor of the exoskeleton of the beetle as a portable armor, architecture, or outline. The fictional story deals with the life cycle of a beetle. He wonders how beetles are born and how do they leave the world? The aim of my bachelor thesis is the realization of an atypical prototype of an accordion book, which is located on the border of a building kit, a toy and a book. The realization of the prototype will use traditional techniques, including digitization and image post-production.
Childhood and toys in ancient Egypt
Wollnerová, Dorotea ; Krejčí, Jaromír (advisor) ; Bareš, Ladislav (referee)
The aim of the thesis is to record and evaluate archeological, written and iconographic evidence that may be used for the study of toys of ancient Egypt. Chronologically, the thesis focuses on the times from the Archaic to the Roman Period. Based on the evidence, the author attempts to reinterpret the findings that are traditionally, in Egyptologic literature, considered to be related to play and games. She also strives for detailed understanding of the context in which games were played as well as identifying the position of children within this context. The thesis discusses general problems with conserving and interpreting such kinds of evidence in archeological materials.

Play Style of Girl Gamers
Rosendorfová, Johana ; Hrabec, Ondřej (advisor) ; Smetáčková, Irena (referee)
The goal of this bachelor's thesis is to contribute to further development of the concept of a play style of both male and female video game players, and to highlight the relevance of studying video games in relation to the female population. The target of this work was to uncover the play styles of adult female video game players, for which I propose approaching the play style as an element of the interaction process between the player and her environment (fellow male and female players and the general public). In the main part of the work I propose a contextual model of play style and arrive at a categorization of gender specific play styles and their relation to the concepts of agency and communion. The results were reached by in depth analysis of interviews with female video game players.

The part of the thesis is complex of 11 precific games and toys, which are prepared for teaching chemistry at the primary and high schools and universities uncommonly. This file contains the rules, methodological instructions, time allocation, and everything needed for the teaching of games. The practical part will also find a list of many previously published and unpublished games and toys, which can serve as inspiration for teachers of chemistry. Making an inquiry carried out in two elementary schools to confirm the presumption that the study results achieved through gaming activities, are more satisfactory than the results, in which gaming activities were not used.
