Evaluation of the Financial Situation of an Internationally Operating Company and Suggestions for its Improvement

The diploma thesis focuses on the evaluation of the financial situation of a selected internationally operating company. The work consists of a total of three parts, while the theoretical part mentions concepts related to the assessment of financial health. The analytical part includes an analysis of the current state of the company and the market. And in the last part, a proposal to improve the financial situation of the selected company is addressed.

Influence of press agencies on the Foreign News of Czech dailies Lidové noviny and Hospodářské noviny

Diploma thesis Influence of press agencies on the foreign news of Czech dailies Lidové noviny and Hospodářské noviny deals with influence of the press agency ČTK and Reuters on the foreign news, March and April 2012 were being analyzed. The Research used quantitative content analysis and describes the way, how editors work with the news from ČTK and Reuters, how much space get the agencies′s news in newspapers and how the journalists mention authorship while taking news from the press agency. This thesis also contains agenda-setting principles, gatekeeping theory, news values and media routines as a theoretical base.
Phenomenon of Home

The main theme of this dissertation is the phenomenon of home. The dissertation is intended to be thought-provoking about the issues of home. The aim of this paper is to clarify the phenomenon of home in relevance to present day and to find the answers to home-relevant questions and relating to the housing of man on this Earth. The dissertation itself is arranged into five chapters. The first chapter is dedicated to the ancient Greek roots of the term "home" and briefly describes how the subject is viewed by linguistic scientists and how it is defined by selected social sciences. The second and the third chapters are at the core of this dissertation and describe in detail the phenomenon of home in the conception of two significant phenomenological thinkers, Czech philosopher Jan Patočka and German philosopher Martin Heidegger. The fourth chapter describes the issues of home through a reception of poetry by famous Czech poets. Instruments of foreign policy of small states - Taiwan's economic and public diplomacy

Taiwan is still in partial diplomatic isolation. As a small country with a limited share in world affairs is not only limited by his specific requirements, but also to the instruments that are entitled to use. The only way to escape from this situation means expanding the number of diplomatic allies and efforts for integration into international structures. Recommended tools for small state foreign policy used to achieve its objectives, primarily by soft power. Based on the classification of Taiwan as a small state, the recommended instruments are of public and economic diplomacy. They act through creating a positive image of the country abroad and various forms of foreign assistance. Taiwan needs to gather as much support from the general public in different countries. A strong motivation for him is his effort to build its own space and fixed position for national survival and growth in China's shadow. By defining each of the central concepts, integrating Taiwan into the actual facts and the application of selected instruments for Taiwan's foreign policy terms there is built a connection between the small states issue and areas of economic and public diplomacy as soft power tools of Taiwan's foreign policy.
The use of foreign players in Czech extraleague baseball

Title: The use of foreign players in Czech extraleague baseball Objectives: The thesis aims to determine the contribution of foreign players who were active in the Czech baseball extraleague at the game and club level for the seasons 2015-2020. The diploma thesis compares the effectiveness of game performance of foreign players with Czech players. Conducting statistical analysis can show how many foreign players were on individual teams, and how effective they are for the team. Methods: The thesis analyzes secondary data obtained from the information system of the Czech Baseball Association and data collected by the baseball-stat web portal. Furthermore, semi-structured interviews were conducted with representatives of six Extraleague clubs. The number of foreign players in 2015-2020 and their national composition was examined. Central to the thesis were statistics such as Wins Above Replacement (WAR), Number of innings pitched (IP), Earned run average (ERA) and Batting average (BA). Results: In conclusion, the thesis analyzes secondary sources compared with an analysis of interviews with representatives of Extraleague clubs.
