Monitoring the possible occurrence of patellar tendinopathy using diagnostic sonography in the under-19 floorball team: a clinical observational study
Šmíd, Vojtěch ; Routner, Petr (advisor) ; Katolický, Jakub (referee)
Introduction: Knee pain is a common issue among floorball players, often associated with overuse of this area. This condition is known as patellar tendinopathy and belongs to overuse injuries. The occurrence of patellar tendinopathy is examined in this study using diagnostic sonography in adolescent floorball players. The main objective: The aim of this study is to determine the prevalence of patellar tendinopathy in floorball players using diagnostic sonography. Furthermore, the occurrence of other pathologies of the patellar tendon, such as tendon thickening, disruption of its continuity, and the presence of hypoechogenicity, is investigated. Methods: Seven individuals from the ACEMA Sparta Prague floorball club aged 13-16 participated in the study. Participants provided their medical history and completed The Victorian Institute of Sport Assessment (VISA-) Patella (P) (VISA-P) questionnaire. Subsequently, the group underwent patellar tendon scanning via diagnostic sonography of both lower extremities. Results: Patellar tendinopathy was detected in 3 out of the total of 7 individuals (42.86 %). Additionally, disruption of tendon fiber continuity occurred 6 times out of the total of 14 cases (42.86 %), with patellar tendon thickening at a distance of 2 cm compared to the contralateral extremity in...
Assessment of the energy cost of florball and flag football
Máchal, Tomáš ; Bunc, Václav (advisor) ; Jandová, Soňa (referee)
The thesis elaborates the difficulty of flag football compared to floorball using heart rate measurements. Measurements for each sport were taken with six players in the age range of 18- 37 years old for twenty minutes of the game. Players are active in these sports and were selected after consultation with coaches. The measured values were processed using statistical data analysis and presented through bar graphs. Five load zones were determined for data analysis, using Polar application. The first zone of 50% to 60% of maximum heart rate and each subsequent zone covered values ranging 10% higher. The measurements showed that floorball players reached a significantly higher average heart rate during the game, 153.1 ± 9.4 bpm, compared to the average heart rate of 131 ± 6.7 bpm achieved by flag football players. The floorball players also measured a higher average maximum heart rate, which was 190.5 ± 9.4 beats/min. In flag football players, this value averaged 173.8 ± 8.5 beats/min. Furthermore, the measurements showed that the flag football players spent significantly more time in the lower load zones during the game than the floorball players. Specifically, flag football players spent 25.2% of the time in the first zone, 32.8% of the time in the second zone, 28.5% of the time in the third zone,...

Author: Bc. Adam Balatka Title: Postural stability of the trunk in relation to floorball players' lower limbs injuries Objectives: The aim of this diploma thesis is to investigate the level of postural stability by evaluating the quality of the deep stabilization system function in elite floorball players. Then, take into account its relation to the occurrence of lower extremity injuries in the anamnesis of each player. The next goal is to compare these results with evaluation of the stabilizing abilities of the lower extremities. Methods: 28 elite floorball players from fhe FBC Liberec club took part in this research. The players were 16-35 years old. Testing and data collection were done in Semptember and October 2023 before practise unit in the gym of the floorball club FBC Liberec. Anamnestic data focused mainly on lower extremities injuries were taken at first from each player. Subsequently, the level of trunk stability was examined using the diaphragm test and the hip joint flexion test according to Kolář. Then was measured the Y-balance test. Finally was done the evaluation according to the Return to activity algorithm Level 4 (90ř balance hop and square hop test). The MS Excel 365 program and statistic software Jamovi (version 2.3) were used for data evaluation. The results were processed...
