Design and validation of an exercise program aimed at compensating hyperlordosis of lumbar spine
ŠVEHLOVÁ, Michaela
My diploma thesis deals with the design and validation of the exercise programme focused on the compensation of lordosis of lumbar spine. The literary research was written using the method of content analysis and synthesis. It contains the findings in the field of disorders of the locomotive system regarding football-related load. During the validation of the designed exercise programme, I used the tests of Smíšek to evaluate the scale of hip movement and the tests of Jaroš and Lomíček to evaluate the stature. 10 football players of the category U 11 of 1st FC Příbram took part in the validation. The intervention took place once a week for the period of eight weeks. The validation was realized in the form of a gradual one-group, non-concurrent experiment. Based on the results of the testing, the players improved remarkably. 80% of the tested players improved significantly on the right leg and 70 % of the players improved significantly on the left leg by the method of Smíšek. The method of Jaroš and Lomíček helped the players to move on from the extreme groups of very bad and poor posture to the group of poor and good posture. The exercise programme was validated as a suitable compensation scheme for football players.

The topic of this work is to qualify an efficiency of regular exercise on thoracic spine, hip joint and ankle improvement. There was a qualitative research used for achieving the main goal (by using questionaries and tests, created by myself, to test the mobility of these selected body segments. A positive influence of this regular exercise on mobility was found out in this resrearch, although bigger differences have been expected in individual segments. A possitive impact on mental health was also shown, as was on physical health. Some health issues, which have apeared in the beginnig of this exercise, also dissapeared after a completion of this program.

1 Abstract Title: Movement programs to affect overweight and obesity in children Objectives: The aim of the work is to design an exercise programme to reduce the weight of overweight or obese children with varying current levels of exercise skills based on exercise history. Methods: The information, data and knowledge of the chosen issues were sought by researching the scientific literature of Czech and foreign publications, I obtained further information by studying selected professional articles, from internet sources, the PubMed website and other available publications, according to identified keywords in the title and text - for example, children, obesity, exercise activities, skills, etc. The criteria also included the authors' expertise on the subject. Another inclusion criterion was obesity, prevention and movement of children, while the exclusionary criterion was adult obesity. Results: On the basis of a literary research, I have prepared a proposal for an exercise program where physical skills have a clear influence on the implementation of physical activity. Program is prepared for mildly obese children falling in elementary school age, impaired posture, no medical complications, with basic exercise skills from school physical education and no regular exercise training. I set up an exercise a...

Title: Effects of the power yoga exercise program on selected parameters of postural stability in students of the Faculty of Science of the Charles University in Prague. Objectives: The aim of the study was to analyze the effects of the power yoga intervention program on selected parameters of postural stability and to identify potential differences between the experimental and the control groups. Methods: The three-month intervention program was implemented within Physical Education subject curriculum MS730C at the Department of Physical Education of the Faculty of Science of the Charles University in Prague. The research sample consisted of 80 students of the second year of the Faculty of Science, who were assigned by drawing lots into the experimental and the control groups. Changes of the selected parameters of postural stability were assessed before and after the three-month intervention program. Measurements of the postural stability level were performed using selected tests in the Laboratory of Sport Motor Skills of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport of the Charles University in Prague. The tests were carried out on the stabilometric board Footscan. Nonparametric tests were used for statistical evaluation. Substantive significance coefficient ω2 was used to evaluate the substantive...

Title: Specific exercise program (HIIT) and its influence on body composition in men and women. Objective: The main objective of the study was to analyze changes of body composition in men and women, who completed a three-month exercise program. Methods: The work has the character of an empirical research, where the main method is observation. At the beginning of the research, the group consisted of 15 men and 15 women. The research was completed by 11 men and 11 women. The observed group were attending lessons based on HIIT method in fitness center Balance Club Brumlovka. For the input and output data (body height, body weight and parametres of body composition) were used a digital altimeter and bioelectrical impedance InBody 770. The resulting values were assessed using a paired t-test (statistical significance) and Cohen-d (substantive significance). Results: The result of the study is that during the specific three-month exercise program occured differences in anthropometric parameters (body weight) and parameters of body composition. The most significant differences in both men and women were the decrease of average weight (kg), the decrease of total body fat (%) and the increase of total body water (%) and fat free mass (kg). Key words: Anthropometry, body composition, bioelectric impedance,...

Title: A support exercise program for the reduction of children's obesity Goals: The goal of this master thesis is to outline and realize some support exercise program for elementary school children who have diagnosis of overweight and obesity. This program will be held in a medical institution Dr. L. Filipa, Lázně Poděbrady. The effectiveness of the program will be tested by anthropometric parameters. Methods: The program was held from 26.3. - 22.4. 2014. The intervened group contained 12 participants, 6 boys and 6 girls, between 10 - 12 years old. The measurement of the anthropometric indicators was made by bioelectrical impedance analysis. The abdomen circumference was measured by a measuring-tape. Results: The support exercise program had a positive impact for the reduction of the children's obesity. The average loss of the weight at the intervened group was 4,4 kg, the BMI was reduced about 1, 8 kg/m2 . The body fat was reduced about 3,1 %, the abdomen circumference was reduced about 5, 7 cm and the muscle mass increased about 1,7 %. The program had a positive reply and helped children to create more positive relation toward physical activity. . Key words: obesity in children, physical activity, exercise program, elementary school children, weight, BMI, body fat.
