Coordination of operation of PST transformers in the interconnected region

This master’s thesis deals with phase-shifting transformers (PST) and coordination of electrically close devices in an interconnected region. Theoretical research is performed in the work, describing methods of power control, function and design of PST, as well as actual methods of PST coordination in the rest of the world. Based on the research there is an optimalisation algorithm designed in MATLAB, which computes recommended tap petting of PST based on the network configuration. In the second part of this thesis there are described components of this algorithm and also presented the results of three demonstrative scenarios. Algorithm is able to solve minor problems in the network; more complex problems are beyond its solving ability. For an improved functionality there is a necessity to further expand this algorithm by a network redispatch solving algorithm.
Software Guitar Looper with Remote Control

This thesis deals with creating a software guitar looper in a visual programming language called Pure Data and also building a specific remote controller for it. The remote cont- roller will be based on a MIDI protocol. As a part of the software, there will be a special aligning algorithm, that will take care of precise alignment of the created loop on beat in the way that no other intrusive rhythmical or tempo related elements are present.
Internet library of methods and algorithms used for medical image registration

Image registration is a procedure which is heading to search for a geometric transformation, which ensures same position, orientation and size of coresponding objects in pictures. How does these methods work? These methods and principies are explained in first part of this work. Second part of this work is aimed to explain theory about information systems and practical creation of the internet databaze. These practical part was realized in editorial system called Drupal.
Application of distributed and stochastic algorithms in network.

This thesis deals with the distributed and stochastic algorithms including testing their convergence in networks. The theoretical part briefly describes above mentioned algorithms, including their division, problems, advantages and disadvantages. Furthermore, two distributed algorithms and two stochastic algorithms are chosen. The practical part is done by comparing the speed of convergence on various network topologies in Matlab.
Movement Tracking in Public Transport

This master’s thesis is dedicated to user’s movement tracking in public transport, as well as to optimize route planning. In the first part, author presents information related to graph theory and graph theory algorithms, including Breadth-First Search, Djikstra’s algorithm and A*. In the second part of this thesis, author describes the design of server and mobile application including description of routing process and how individual parts works.

This bachelor thesis attends to the optimization of separated waste collection routes, the waste is being collected by the company Technické služby VM s.r.o. The solution is carried out according to the salesman's methods with farthest insertion's algorithm. This algorithm provides possible solutions in an interface of two algebraic systems Maple and Bjornson's application. The routes for separated waste collection, which are compared, constitute an output.
An algorithm for extending partial planar drawings

This thesis studies the problem of partially embedded planarity. The input of the problem is a graph G and a planar drawing of a subgraph of G. The goal is to decide whether the drawing of the subgraph can be extended to a planar drawing of the entire graph G. It has already been proved that the partially embedded planarity problem can be solved in linear time. However, all known linear algorithms are relatively complicated. This is probably the reason that no implementation has yet been published. We will introduce a new, simpler linear algorithm that solves the problem and we will prove its correctness. Next, we will enclose an implementation of this algorithm in the C++ programming language. 1
The filter bubble and its consequences

The bachelor thesis focuses on negative consequences of personalized social sites called "The Filter Bubble". As for example, bachelor thesis focuses on Facebook, the typical social media platform which tailors its services to our personal preferences. The main question of the bachelor thesis is whether we are aware of negative consequences caused by filter bubble and how filtered information effects our worldview. The aim of this work is to introduces the term "Filter Bubble", evaluate benefits and risks and map awareness of the issue within a specific group of Facebook users using semi-structured interviews. Research uses qualitative method in line with Hendl J. (2005, 2nd ed.). Presented results of the research report how is the issue perceived by respondents and whether they are aware of the Filter Bubble. At the same time, the results present basis for a future research.
Packing rectangles

This thesis studies the open problem of packing rectangles. Is it possible to pack rectangles with dimensions 1/n x 1/(n+1) into a unit square? The diploma thesis deals with the method of using computer simulations in education, with a focus on medicine. It also presents possible usage of computer simulations in other fields. The thesis presents possible usage of computer simulation to support the education, analyses of effective approaches and possible barriers that may arise during the implementation.
