The decrease in alcohol consumption and smoking in the Czech Republic between the years 2010 and 2018 in relation to the family environment
Krásná, Anna ; Soukup, Petr (advisor) ; Petrúšek, Ivan (referee)
Since 2010, sociologists have noted that teenagers drink less alcohol and smoke a smaller number of cigarettes each year than in previous years. This paper analyses the association between family background and the decline in alcohol and cigarette use in the Czech Republic between 2010 and 2018. The data are from the international HBSC (Health Behaviour in School-aged Children) study, from the years 2010, 2014, and 2018. The bachelor thesis only discusses cases from the Czech Republic, the data have thousands of cases, so they are robust enough to perform quantitative analyses. The analysis focuses only on alcohol and conventional cigarettes as the two most common addictive substances consumed by adolescents. Family background is examined in terms of parental presence in the household, ease of communication between parent and child, and family wealth. Secondary analysis showed an association of family wealth with the amount of alcohol consumed and cigarettes smoked. Children from wealthier families drink alcohol more often than children from the opposite end of the spectrum, and conversely, children from poorer families smoke more cigarettes. The data does not have the potential to observe causality, only correlations could be observed. The main conclusion of the paper is that the decline in...

Relationship between the frequency of patient's visits to the Outpatient Addiction Treatment Clinic for Children and Adolescent depending on the presence of dual diagnosis
Svobodová, Barbora ; Jandáč, Tomáš (advisor) ; Rolová, Gabriela (referee)
BACKROUND - The area of addictological care, which focuses on children and adolescents, has moved forward considerably in recent years, yet this target group is still insufficiently described in comparison with, for example, the adult population. The presented thesis deals with the issue of dual diagnoses in patients of the Outpatient Addiction Treatment Clinic for Children and Adolescents. AIMS - The aim of the diploma thesis is a more detailed view of the types of diagnoses occurring among patients of the Outpatient Addiction Treatment Clinic for Children and Adolescent and the search for the possible regularity of the occurrence of the same pattern of these diagnoses (psychiatric diagnoses of patients associated with the use of addictive substances or non-substance dependence). Furthermore, the thesis focuses on the number of patient visits, i.e. the number of visits to the facility achieved by patients with different diagnoses. METHODS - The obtained data were processed using correlation analysis and descriptive statistics. The research included all patients who visited the outpatient clinic in 2015-2021. RESULTS - The most common major diagnoses in ADDA patients are pathological gambling (F63.0) and cannabinoid dependence (F12.2), the most common associated diagnoses are behavioral disorders,...
Adolescent views of ethnic bullying by peer exclusion
Jarolímek, Matouš ; Kollerová, Lenka (advisor) ; Lukavská, Kateřina (referee)
This bachelor's thesis examines adolescents' attitudes towards ethnic bullying by peer exclusion. Bullying is still widespread in Czech schools, and the increasing diversity of school classrooms can sometimes bring with it an increasing incidence of bullying among children with different ethnic backgrounds. For these reasons, it is necessary to know the attitudes towards bullying based on the ethnicity of those most affected, i.e. adolescents. In the theoretical part, the main concepts are defined and then placed in the context of the topic of the bachelor thesis. The following practical part aims to use quantitative methods to describe the attitudes of adolescents towards bullying by peer exclusion, which include the willingness to stand up for the bullied, the evaluation of bullying by peer exclusion or its perceived effects, and to verify whether the role of these attitudes is played by the fact that the bullying is directed by a Czech student against a classmate of the same, Czech ethnicity, or against a classmate of a minority, specifically Ukrainian, ethnicity. The assumption that adolescents rate bullying of minority ethnicity by peer exclusion as more acceptable than bullying of majority ethnicity by peer exclusion was tested. As further objectives, it was tested whether the gender of the...
The difference of students movement abilities depending on the type of attended school
Závěrková, Eliška ; Kašpar, Ladislav (advisor) ; Hájková, Jana (referee)
The main aim of this thesis is to determine and compare the movement abilities of ninth-grade elementary school students and students of the same age from high schools called "gymnázium". The UNIFITTEST 6-60 test battery was used to determine the level of movement abilities. The sub-goals of the thesis are to compare the obtained results with population norms, compare somatic conditions of both research groups, and compare movement abilities with respect to gender. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and research part. In the theoretical section, we first focus on the definition, classification, and description of movement abilities. Then, the history and composition of the UNIFITTEST 6-60 test profile are presented. Furthermore, the theoretical section includes chapters on age-related specifics of youth aged 14-15 years, differences in physical education and sport lessons in both types of schools and a review of available literature. The research section is devoted to the measurement process, description of research groups, and analysis of results. The conclusion of the thesis includes a discussion and evaluation of the obtained data. The results of this thesis confirm the hypothesis that students from gymnasiums show better movement abilities than elementary school students. However, the...
Chování spotřebitele na trhu s knihami
Očenášková, Martina
The diploma thesis deals with the behaviour of adolescent consumers on the book market, more precisely on the book market with a literary fiction. The aim of the diploma thesis is primarily to examine the influencing factors, which affect these consumers and, based on them, to suggest recommendations for entities operating on this market. The literature research introduces the theoretical basis of consumer behaviour, the factors that affect them, the purchasing decision-making process or the marketing communication mix. It is also possible to find a closer look at the adolescent consumer in the digital age in this part. Furthermore, an overview of the Czech book market and the current situation on this market is given. The analysis of both secondary and primary data obtained by a question-naire survey is performed in our own work. On the basis of our findings, market-ing recommendations are suggested for entities, who operate on the book market.
Substance use and evaluation of prevention activities of students of Secondary School Vimperk
JINDRA, Jaromír
This work deals with the use of addictive substances by high school students and with the evaluation of preventive activities. I´ts task is to find out the opinions and experiences of students with addictive substances and preventive activities. There was chosen following goal of the work: "Identification of risk factors of students behavior due to substance use and evaluation of primary prevention of risk behavior." The work is divided into theoretical and practical parts, where the theoretical part briefly describes the prevention of risky behavior and the most commonly used addictive substances. Specifically, the areas of risk and protective factors, primary prevention of risky behavior, school and drug prevention, the effects of addictive substances and their relationship to risky behavior were described. The practical part is processed with a quantitative strategy by the statistical method, where the technique of data collection was used a questionnaire survey conducted among students of Vimperk High School. The results of the research show, that the most fundamental risk factor affecting students is their closest social environment, their family, friends and peers. Prevention is effective in the use of hard drugs, which is not the case with tobacco cigarettes, alcoholic beverages and marijuana. The results of the work can serve as a mapping of the current situation of risky behavior due to the use of addictive substances used for further research and as a comparative material. They can also serve as a basis for practical use in creating prevention programs and to improve primary prevention.
Participation of Children at the Funeral
RATAJOVÁ, Eva
The thesis deals with the topic of children's participation at funerals from younger school age to adolescence and examines the significance of personal participation or non-participation in funerals of close persons. He comments on the rituals of children. In the practical part, the empirical research reveals the lived experience of the respondents, from which we have the opportunity to find out the significance of personal participation or non-participation of children at funerals of close persons in the context of the family environment.
The Verification of the Use of the Heart Rate Variability in the Management of Training Process in Adolescent Mountain Bikers
KADLEC, Jakub
Cross-country Olympic (XCO) is one of the endurance sports. The training process of mountain bikers is very demanding because the rider must be complex in endurance and anaerobic skills. Alfa and omega of the training process is a periodization of training load and recovery. Heart rate variability (HRV) can help us assess body's condition and readiness for training. In the practical part of the work, an experiment was carried out, which was attended by eight adolescent mountain bikers. The intervention took place during the training camp. The total intervention time was four weeks. The participants were randomized into two groups. The first experimental group (ES) (n = 4) was a graduated training camp with a heart rate variability guided training load. The second group was a control group that used a classical predefined training plan. For evaluation of HRV training efficiency a VO2max test and 20 minutes time trial (20TT) on an ergometer were used. The results showed an improvement in mean power output during 20TT in the experimental group (PRE 303.5 W; POST 317.5 W) and relative values (PRE 4.58 W.kg-1; POST 4.68 W.kg-1). On the other hand, there were no changes in average power (PRE 308 W; POST 305.7 W) and relative values (PRE 4.20 W.kg-1; POST 4.20 W.kg-1). From a statistical point of view, there was no effect of HRV training on performance indicators (p <0.05). Our experiment failed to confirm the usefulness of HRV training for cyclists.
Nursing care about adolescent with asthma bronchiale
HERCOVÁ, Martina
My thesis is focused on adolescents with bronchial asthma. I described bronchial asthma, pathophysiology, treatment, regimens, nurse education and the specifics of communication with adolescents. First goal was to find out how adolescents abide by regime, whether they have encountered alternative methods of treating asthma, and whether there are gender differences. Questioning method has been used, where I created the online questionnaire and placed it on the social network Facebook. Second goal was to map the role of a nurse in an allergology clinic. Online questionnaire method has been used via online Skype communication. The results show that there are only minimal, even negligible differences in compliance with the regime's measures in relation to gender. Furthermore, it has been shown that, thanks to medication and appropriately selected adjunctive therapy, the patient can have considerable control over the disease. It has been found that there are patients with experience in alternative methods of treating bronchial asthma. During interviews with the nurses were apparent, that their role in the allergology clinic is irreplaceable and fulfills an important function, without which doctors would find it difficult to do. For practice, I would recommend to adolescents and their parents education about the issue of the disease, the symptoms of the disease and treatment options.
