Šestáková, Gita ; Nigrin, Tomáš (advisor) ; Mlsna, Petr (referee)
The red - green coalition in German national government agreed in the autumn of 1998 on a phase - out nuclear strategy, a conclusion made after long - term public debate. This thesis works with agenda setting and advocacy coalition theory in order to discover the efficiency of Green party's attempts to realize its vision of nuclear phase - out. This goal of the Greens has remained unchanged since the establishment of the political party; yet the promoting of the concrete aspects was strongly influenced by other actors interested in the energy policy. The position of the Greens in the final agreement process was disadvantaged and the party had to agree on many compromises. After the disaster of Fukushima, German government decided for a quicker nuclear exit. In this perspective, the Greens use their stable anti - nuclear image as a positive aspect for the latest national elections campaign.
The Rise and Fall of the Green Party
Sklenářová, Zdeňka ; Bureš, Jan (advisor) ; Polášek, Martin (referee)
Anotation The thesis' purpose is to analyse the evolution of Green Party between 2006 and 2010. Thesis is concentrated on the period when the party recorded under the leadership of M. Bursik its greatest electoral success and managed to not only exceed the electoral clause to enter the Chamber of Deputies, but also participate in forming a government together with the ODS and the KDU - CSL. Soon it became clear that the party was splitted in opinion and there was a struggle between realists, realizing that if they wanted to enforce their policies they would have to accept many compromises, and ecological radicals, who wanted to impose all or nothing. The thesis also describes the work of the Green Party in government and growing conflicts between members of Party, which resulted in the establishment of intra-party fraction "Democratic challenge" and consequent elimination of MPs O. Zubová and V. Jakubková of the Green Party parliamentary group. Particularly, intraparty conflicts and the inability of its President M. Bursik to unite the party meant a slow but steady decline in party preferences. This observation was confirmed by the electoral failures in regional elections and following elections to the European Parliament, after whichM. Bursik resigned. But finally even his successor O. Liška didn't manage...

Ireland is generally seen as one of the biggest supporters of the European Union. Irish public opinion researches have been showing long-term and extremely positive attitudes to the European integration. The pro-European consensus is also known among the local political parties. Moreover, at the end of the 20th century, a strong economic growth had started and the Ireland quickly became a model example of how positive impact the European integration may have on its Member states. Kaisner, Jakub ; Bartoň, Petr (advisor) ; Šustrová, Denisa (referee)
Do local currency initiatives rise in poorer regions with preference of green politics? That's one of the questions, that paper focused on regional currencies in Germany tried to answer. Analysis was performed on the sample of 29 districts, where the local currency project has been attempted. Research revealed the uneven concentration of projects in the country in favor of the wealthier areas with lower unemployment rates, a result opposite to that of similar research in the U.S. The assumption of higher preference of green politics in these districts was strongly proved. After comparison of active projects, and stopped, it became clear that projects in large cities are significantly less likely to succeed.
