The construction of social workers' reactions of OSPOD (Authority of Social and Legal Protection of Children) to the dilemma to intervene or not to intervene in situations where a court petition may be filed to remove the child from the family

8 Abstract The Diploma thesis focuses on the construction of the reactions of social workers of OSPOD (Authority of Social and Legal Protection of Children) to the dilemma to intervene or not to intervene in situations when they deal with cases related to the possible removal of a child from the family and the related initiation of a court petition. In the theoretical part, the concept of dilemma is explained, including its setting in the framework of everyday dilemmas. Next, I discuss the setting in which the construction of reactions to the dilemma of whether or not to intervene occurs, which is the OSPOD (Authority of Social and Legal Protection of Children), and lastly, I present the structure of the construction of discourse using Gee's categories. The aim of the research was to answer the primary research question - " How do social workers of selected OSPOD construct reactions to the dilemma to intervene or not to intervene when filing a court petition to remove a child from the family?". The findings showed what specifically plays a role in these dilemma situations for social workers in their thinking about the dilemma. Social housing policy towards families with difficult access to housing market

This thesis is focused on social housing for families as a specific housing policy instrument for securing housing of families with children who are for various reasons disadvantaged on the free housing market. In the thesis social housing is understood as a way towards fulfilment of the right to adequate housing and at the same time as an instrument for supporting families in their function of securing healthy development of their children in a safe environment. The aim of the thesis is to contribute to the actual debate on the creation of the state policy of social housing. It is done mainly by the mapping of housing and social policy on the state and local level. Local policy of social housing is explored particularly in five city districts of the capital city of Prague. The research draws data from documents of the city districts and interviews with the officials from property departments and social departments, in particular with the heads of child welfare sections. The research shows that the access of families with children to the instruments of local housing policy is always in some way limited. The city districts vary in the level of these limits. Master's Degree Thesis. The object of this work is to identify the weaknesses of the current system of the alternative care by comparing casuistry with the standards of quality. I use casuistry of the current or former clients of foster care. In the first part I put the topic of social and legal protection of children into context of international and constitutional documents. There is also a chapter about the Standars Quality4Children. Then I focus on the situation in the Czech republic. I start with the descripction of the current system and finish with the process of transformation of the system of care for children at risk. The bill changing the Act No. 359/1999 Coll. on the social and legal protection of children was published. This thesis deals with children from orphanages. The content of the theoretical part consists of the legislative framework of the issue, explaining basic concepts, description of historical development of institutional care and the scope of institutions of social and legal protection of children. The main objective is to monitor the situation of children's home of clients in the institutional education. Approach the situation before the regulation of institutional care during their stay in institutional care, not only in the orphanage itself, but also diagnostic facilities, and also after leaving the facility and must be included in everyday life. The practical part deals with how children stay in foster homes also affects their lives. Temporary Foster Care in the Czech Republic and its Situation as a Result of Political Changes

Bachelor thesis "Temporary foster care in the Czech republic and its situation as a result of legislative changes" deals with current situation of foster care after amendment of Act of Child protection, which came into force in 2013. First part is aimed to explaining terms, which are necessary for the work. Descriptive part deals with foster care description, because foster care and temporary foster share a lot of characteristics. Descriptive part is also aimed to the temporary foster care. There is explained, what this type of family care means and who is designed for. It also defines, which condition must interested person fulfill, to become foster parent. Insignificant part of the work are also financial conditions of both types of foster care. Analytical part is aimed to foster parents and professionals opinions. Essential part is these people opinion about the amendment. It is researched if the situation after amendment was improved, and if conditions of foster care are now better or worse. Another part is aimed to opinions of temporary foster care. There is discovered if it was well established, if there is place for improvement and if there is a lot of people, who are interested in temporary foster care.

Social work for an endangered child

8 Abstract In my thesis, I study the topic of social work with an endangered child. I was trying to bring up the subject of those children who find themselves in a dangerous situation for them and also how situations can be handled. I describe what constitutes an endangered child and what groups they divide into. I also deal with the issue of abused children and also with the CAN syndrome, which is very important for me. I also mention here the disruption of the attachement, which is not so often taken into account by us and it is important for me to talk about it and know about it. A big chapter in my thesis is the subject of the Child at Risk System, which contains facilities for children requiring immediate assistance, child welfare facilities, specialist counselling facilities, social educational activities, facilities for children in need of immediate assistance, as well as education camps for children. I list the services that are provided to children and families at risk. At the end of the theoretical section, I focus more closely on the topic of family surrogacy and institutional care, which I have chosen to process the practical part. The diploma thesis "A journey of a child from own family to a foster family - Substitute family care in the Czech republic" deals with the problematics of substitute family care focusing on foster family care. Institutional education is being taken into account as well, since it represents one of the possibilities of a child's placement out of own family. Because it is a priority and for the good of a child to grow up in a family environment, institutional education should be used only as the last possible solution. The Czech republic has been often criticised for having too high amount of children growing up in institutions and for infringing the rights arising from the Convention on the Rights of the Child. In this context foster family care and possible establishment of professional foster family care has currently been discussed in the Czech republic. Even the nowaday's system of foster family care is not spared from criticism. The solution for this system of care for children without family background inheres in establishment of professional foster family care which allows children, who cannot grow up in their bilogical families and who are not (for legal or actual reasons) suitable for adoption, to grow up in family environment.
