Waldorf pedagogy in times of distance education

The thesis deals with distance education at Waldorf primary schools in Czech Republic, which occurred under the influence of COVID-19 pandemic. Theoretical part of the thesis describes alternative concept of Waldorf pedagogy, its theoretical background, and principles. Further on, it deals with the definition of the term "distance education" and its relationship to the period of school closure. In the field of distance education, the term "e- learning" is defined, which has become a contemporary tool of education. Empirical part of the thesis aims to examine the effect of the transition to distance education during the pandemic on Waldorf pedagogy. The method of semi-structured interview is used to determine the results of qualitative research. Prior to the data collection, a preliminary survey was conducted in the form of a meeting with a Waldorf teacher. The aim was to penetrate the situation from the point of view of a Waldorf educator and to formulate interview questions. Subsequently, one test interview was conducted. The acquisition of research data took four months, with a total of twelve in-depth interviews. The average length of one interview was less than 57 minutes. The diploma thesis "František Bakule- one of the czech school reformer" deals with František Bakule's personality and activity. This thesis shows an initial state of austrian a czech education, benefits of czech reform teachers, experimental schools and František Bakule's ideological bases. This thesis deals with František Bakule's life and his working in educational institutions. This dissertation describes educational methods and their uses in practise at schools, in the Jedlička Institute and in his choir. The purpose of this work is presentation of reform efforts of František Bakule and their overlap until today.
Experimental and educational reform school in the 20s and 30s of the 20th century in Czechoslovakia

The diploma thesis focuses on the experimental and educational reform schools, that have been developed and operated in the 20th and 30th of the 20th century in Czechoslovakia. It shows the political situation in the newly formed Czechoslovakia, as weel as monitors the development of education after 1918. The core of this diploma thesis is in the reform efforts of selected experimental schools. It presents experimental work school in Holešovice, "Dům dětství" in Horní Krnsko and "Dětská farma" of Eduard Štroch. In this part of thesis were the educational devices and objectives of these experimental schools, the organization and progress of teaching described. It also focuses on the selected individuals who were participated in their creation. The thesis analyzes the reform effort, which was followed by reform educators in the 30th, mainly the reform attempt of Václav Příhoda and his unitary educational model.
Helen Parkhurst and Her Influence on the Development of Educational Thought

The thesis deals with the life and thoughts of Helen Parkhurst. It focuses on her pedagogical career and work on the Dalton Plan. It further explains what the Dalton Plan is, what principles it is based on and how it is implemented in practise. Beside that, it describes the period of time in which Parkhurst lived and what approach to education was taken in those days. Also, the principles of the Dalton Plan are compared with thoughts of the reform education and alternative schools. Parkhurst emphasized the individualiza?tion of education and her main aim was to teach pupils how to organize their time properly and how to decide on their learning independently. The thesis follows the development of the Dalton Plan during the 20th century to the present days. It focuses on the possibilities of using it in our educational system where it could be particularly useful in fostering information literacy.

This thesis deals with the concept of education of German pedagogue and university professor Peter Petersen, on the basis of which he elaborated and verified a pedagogical concept called the Jenaplan, which is a synthesis of different lines of the international reform educational movement of the beginning of the last century. It's only ten years left, and one centuries since the first verification of this concept at the practice school of university of Jena and the first book publication of The Small Jena-Plan (Der kleine Jena- Plan, 1927). Yet it is still a challenge that encourages thinking about changes in the work of a regular school. Still again, he questions the stereotypes and serves as a contemporary model of the school as a workshop of humanity. The first chapter deal with the historical background of the reform educational movement and the basic features of reform pedagogy. The second chapter describes the life of Peter Petersen. The third chapter is devoted to the basic elements of Petersen's pedagogy and the principles of the Jenaplan school. The fourth chapter forms the core of the theoretical part of the work and, on the basis of quotes from Petersen's writings, describes and interprets its concept of pedagogical anthropology, which is the starting point for education to humanity.
