The introduction to philosophy at general upper secondary schools as a didactic problem

This diploma thesis is devoted to the didactics of philosophy, specifically focusing on the topic of teaching introduction to philosophy at general upper secondary schools. It views this issue as a didactic problem, thereby establishing a central perspective, which is a didactic perspective. On the basis of the literature, the thesis first unpacks the basic aspects of the didactics of philosophy, which include the teaching objectives of general upper secondary school philosophy, models of teaching according to the way the curriculum is structured or the didactic principles of teaching philosophy. Subsequently, the thesis focuses directly on the issue of initiation and names the key moments of initiating the teaching of philosophy. Next, the thesis focuses its attention on selected philosophy textbooks for secondary schools. It analyses their introductory chapters, focusing in particular on whether the textbook's conception respects the theoretical suggestions made in didactic-philosophical publications. Specific examples from the textbooks are commented on with references to the theory presented in the previous chapters of this thesis, while presenting possibilities for variations in the textbook texts and exercises. Elementary chemical calculations in Chemistry education at primary and secondary schools

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of teaching chemical calculations and with processing of this topic in chemistry textbooks and overviews for secondary grammar schools. The theoretical part consists of the summary of present valid Czech and selected international curricular documents and technical norms which deal with processing of chemical calculations. The aim of the practical part is the selection of criteria for analysis of content, extent and processing of chemical calculations, an analysis of individual textbooks and chemistry overviews, evaluation of the topic of chemical calculations in individual textbooks, comparison of textbooks and recommendation of suitable adjustments of processing of this topic.

Racial prejudice at the secondary school students in Prague

(in English) The thesis main focus is to research racial prejudice of the secondary school students in Prague. Firstly, the theoretical part analyses adolescence as a specific developmental period. Secondly, it describes the profile of secondary school student based on an analysis of Framework Education Programme for Secondary General Education (Grammar Schools) in relation to the formation and consolidation of a set of beliefs, attitudes and value orientation of the students. Finally, it examines the area of prejudices and prejudicial thinking. The practical part is devoted to the research of prejudicial thinking of students from two secondary schools in Prague, the methodology of the research and the results evaluation.

Possibilities of the didactical use of the Jewish Museum in Prague for educational purposes concerning civics and humanities as a part of the Framework Education Programme for Secondary General Education

This diploma thesis is focused on possibilities of civil and social/scientific basis education along with use of activities of the Jewish museum in Prague and its action. Theoretical part of the thesis compares three different perspectives of the museum as an institution and represents museological, pedagogical and museum- pedagogical knowledge. Furthermore, this part describes the relation between the museum and school as well as the museum and society. This part also contains characteristics of the Jewish museum activities and its history. Last passage of theoretical part includes a presentation of project education as a form of teaching. Practical part involves education project on human rights subject for students of secondary school. Theoretical part of the diploma thesis is based on study of technical literature, practical part comes out from Framework Education Programme for Secondary General Education. Application of The Historical Atlas of Czech Towns in geography lessons

This Bachelor thesis was created for the purpose of producing a set of tasks with the historical atlase of Czech towns which would outline the possibility of incorporating historical maps into teaching methods at secondary schools. There were defined certain sub-goals that approximately correspond to the structure of the whole study. With their assistance, a set of tasks with the Historical Atlas of Cesky Krumlov was created and the primary aim of the work was thus completed. At first, the content of the historical atlases was analyzed and the possibilities of their utilization were outlined. The didactic material contained in the atlases was described as well as the opportunities of using it. Using the secondary literature, there were outlined general areas of the skills, which develop the solving problems competences and which ought to be used while addressing the tasks. In order to create these tasks, the Framework educational programme for secondary schools was analyzed together with some of its expected outcomes, which might develop the historical atlas.
