Kučera, Jakub ; Suchý, Jiří (advisor) ; Dlouhý, Martin (referee)
This bachelor's thesis examines the level of coordination abilities of pupils in the 5th, 7th and 9th grades of elementary school, i.e. in developmentally very diverse periods. The theoretical part focuses on the definition of coordination abilities and their division, further compares the period of prepubescence and puberty and presents test batteries that check coordination. The research was carried out using the Iowa-Brace test, which was used to verify the level of general coordination abilities of pupils. The methodological part describes the course of the testing (including a description of the preparation) that took place in two elementary schools in Prague in a total of nine classes. The measured data confirmed a statistically significant increase in coordination skills between 5th and 7th grade students, while between 7th and 9th grade their increase was less than 5%. These findings are in agreement with the theory of Prof. Karel M kota, CSc. (M kota and Novosad, 2005). Furthermore, girls showed better coordination skills than boys in all grades. Pupils engaged in individual sports also achieved higher results compared to pupils engaged in team sports. KEYWORDS Coordination, Iowa - Brace test, balance training, development, older school age

Vegetables and fruit in school lunch system
FLEMROVÁ, Karolína
My thesis is named Vegetables and fruit in school lunch system. I have chosen this topic because I think that is very important which eating habits kids are creating in childhood. The basics of nutrition are determined primarily by their parents, but also by the school in which they spend most of their time during the day. A thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. Theoretical part is focused on the nutrition of school children, especially on fruits and vegetables. There are macronutrients and micronutrients described in each chapter. Thesis also deal with fat-soluble and water-soluble vitamins. The part concerning vegetables, fruits, and their technological modifications, such as cooking, baking, cooling, and others, is also important. At the end of the theoretical part, thesis deals with school meals, consumer basket of school canteens and educational programs. For the practical part, the are two main aims. The first aim is to inspect the popularity and frequency of fruit and vegetable consumption among students attending the school cafeteria. It is made by research. Research has been done by a questionnaire survey at two primary schools. The results are showed in bar graphs. Second aim is to determine and compare the composition of school menus in selected school canteens, which were attended by children filling out a questionnaire about the popularity and frequency of fruit and vegetable consumption. The result of the practical part shows that the children do not consume enough fruits and vegetables, at the same time they are not satisfied with the choice and quality of vegetables and fruits in school canteens. The menus show that the same types of vegetables and fruits, as well as their form of serving, are often repeated in canteens.
