The impact of international linkages on the behaviour of environmental non-governmental organisations
Suchá, Magdaléna ; Weiss, Tomáš (advisor) ; Tomalová, Eliška (referee)
Master's Thesis Magdaléna Suchá Summer 2021/2022 Abstract The growing number of NGOs has also resulted in the growing interest of academics in them. However, the available literature on NGOs suffers from several weaknesses. For example, researchers do not substantially reflect the influence of international linkages on organizational behavior. The theory of sociological institutionalism, which is the theoretical framework of this thesis, assumes that through contacts and the influence of exposure to international structures, the institution changes and with it its behavior. The aim of this thesis is therefore to find an answer to the question of whether it is indeed the different degrees of institutionalization of organizations that manifest themselves externally in different behavior. The answer to the question is sought through an analysis of the behavior of two differently internationally institutionalized NGOs linked by their subject of interest - the environment. The first organization is the Greenpeace Czech Republic, the Czech branch of the international NGO, while the second NGO is Hnutí DUHA, which has its roots purely in the Czech Republic. The first part of the thesis introduces the theory of new institutionalism with a focus on its concrete form - sociological institutionalism, followed by a...

Semrádová, Eliška ; Vochocová, Lenka (advisor) ; Nečas, Vlastimil (referee)
How is the role of non-profit organizations constructed in the Czech online sphere? This diploma thesis tries to answer this question based on a content analysis of articles in the six most-read online newswebsites in the Czech Republic and users' discussions connected to them in 2015-2019. The theoretical basis of the work is the media construction of reality, which the author tries to apply in practice to the topic of the non-profit sector using the method of media framing. Qualitative content analysis in the research succeeded in revealing four main frameworks by which Czech online news views non-profit organizations. The four frameworks also emerged from the analysis of user discussions under the articles. The comparison of these findings provided the author with the opportunity to find out how the discussant brings diversity to the Czech non-profit sector's media representation. The thesis's conclusion is devoted to evaluating the most critical research findings, which the author incorporated into the context of existing academic research of media representation of non-profit organizations in the news. As non-profit organizations' role in society is mostly influenced by the public image, this work provides comprehensive information on the roles that Czech online news and its readers attribute...

Use of the internet for fundraising in non-governmental organizations
Apoštol, Ladislav ; Vávrová, Hana (advisor) ; Mikan, Pavel (referee)
The aim of this Master´s Thesis is to analyse the way in which non-governmental organizations approach the use of the internet for fundraising. The Master´s Thesis explores attitudes of non-governmental organizations towards this medium as well as the factors that motivate these organizations to use the internet. In order to achieve the aim the author carried out qualitative research based on semi-structured interview attended by representatives of a total of ten selected non-governmental organizations. The results show that non-governmental organizations use the internet for fundraising, however there are considerable gaps in their effectiveness. Online fundraising does not entail a significant financial source. Non-governmental organizations use the internet mainly to build a relationship with their supporters. Online fundraising is therefore seen as a complement to classic fundraising methods that still dominate in case of Czech non-governmental organizations.

Fundraising is one of the most critical disciplines regarding the nongovernmental organization's market nowadays. Moreover, we are going to talk about the behavioral economy and couple of ways how we can use it in terms of Fundraising. Then the last part describes a bit from the Guerrilla marketing cuisine, as we can't do anything properly since we don't have any publicity about it.

Evaluation the Effectiveness of Investments in Human Capital in Non-Governmental Organizations
KAMLACH, Jaroslav
The target of my thesis is the evaluation of the effectiveness of investments in human capital in the selected non-governmental organization (NGO). I achieve that through the simple questionnaire, which shows the number of employees of the organization, the way and the size of investment and also the evaluation of their utility. The selected NGO is compared with another 2 similar organizations in the table. The issue of the non-for-profit sector is for most people almost unknown. Even the mere inclusion into the national economy can be often an unsolvable problem, because borders between the for-profit and non-for-profit sector are often mutually intersected. Today's trend is that the greatest advantage is the human capital. The selected organization is analyzed mainly in human resources their financing, education and motivation. The conclusion of my thesis advises that organization, how to more effectively invest to their employees.
