Ethical code and education

The theoretical part describes modern education and its outcomes. The issue of quality measurement in education on the whole is addressed while mentioning the fact that the concept of quality of education has no exact definition. Further, the basic functions of school are descibed together with their evaluation. The significant aspect of parent-school cooperation is mentioned in the context of coordinated curriculum. This theoretical framework explains the environment in which the pupil`s prosocial behaviour arises and develops further. Followingly, the standards of quality in promoting personal integrity are introduced. The standards include eleven principles which cultivate moral and ethical values in all participants of educational process. The delineation of current educational grounds and goals, along with suitable methods and sociological view of education constitute another part of the work. The sociological view ends with analysis of sustainability of morality and school role in promoting values. The ethical code is described, its definition, formation procedure, outline as well as ethical code sample for education stressing the ballance of all participants in educational process. In the next chapter, problem areas and fundamental ethical issues are defined, their solutions suggested. The...

1 Right to education under European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and Czech Republic Abstract: This thesis deals with the issue of protection of the right to education. It focuses on the conception of the right to education defined by the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms. It also compares the article concerning the right to education with other international documents concerning human rights protection such as Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union and Convention on the Rights of the Child. It partly examines the definition of this right under the Czech law. The thesis especially pays attention to the case of the Grand Chamber D.H. and others versus Czech Republic, since it is the only decision of European Court of justice concerning right to education which found Czech Republic in breach of the Convention. The aim of this thesis was to find out what influence had this decision on the Czech Republic as well as other member states of the Council of Europe and whether It was succesfully implemented into the Czech legal system. Aim: Ethical code and its application in education, provide it or not? Focus: The consequences of using ethical code. Does it change the student-teacher relationship? What does the current state of this relationship look like? Is this relationship viewed as a mutually agreed contract, or is anyone in this relationship advantaged. Is there sufficient law and specification for this relationship? How is the current student-teacher relationship specified? How has it been viewed recently, how is it viewed currently and how will it progress? Could ethical code and specification of ethical conduct be beneficient or is it to be viewed as another blind bureaucratic meassure? The comparison with other helping professions.
Preparation of beginning teachers of primary schools is solving educations problems of students

This diploma thesis is focused on solution of educational problem of students. Its character is theoretically-empirical. The first part is theoretical and is focused on explaining technical terms of this thesis topic. Furthermore it summarizes theoretical knowledge from area of teachers, especially junior, in addition education of schoolmasters and law regulation, regarding to their work. The last part of theoretical part is dedicated to authority, its establishing, education and practices in case of unappropriate student behaviour. Furthermore to discipline, its causes and to most common discipline problems in elementary schools. In the empirical part is described procedure of qualitative research investigation of this diploma thesis. There are also listed research questions as well as description of data collection and its analysis. Methodological part is followed by research investigation and answer to question, if junior teacher are ready to deal with educational problem of their students.
Issue of teaching modern history at elementary and high schools in the Czech Republic

The theme of the presented rigorous thesis is problematics of teaching of modern history in primary and secondary schools in the Czech Republic. The thesis is divided into two main parts. The first part deals with an analysis of legislative frame of educational politics of the Czech Republic with an emphasis on teaching of modern history, analysis and evaluation of curricular documents. Initially, chosen factors which affect the process of teaching are briefly mentioned. Afterwards, a didactic analysis of history textbooks, on the basis of a quantitative research rated as the most common ones, is carried out. The second part of the thesis is focused on utilization of project teaching as a convenient way of motivating, attractive and effective education of primary and secondary school students in the field of modern history. Characteristics of chosen projects realized by schools, memory institutions or nonprofit organizations are given on a theoretical level. The practical part is then dedicated to the characteristics, detailed methodical treatment and evaluation of my own authorial project Memories of the 1980s in Czechoslovakia that was created under the auspices of the National Museum's project Touch the 20th century!. Optimization of primary schools

The main goal of this thesis is to describe the current situation of capacity of primary schools in the selected area of Prague and suggest optimization options. In the first part of my thesis the theoretical apparatus needed to understand the issue of education is presented. The main focus here is on the legislation related to the issue of education. The practical part of my thesis is based on the results of questionnaire survey focused on primary schools and additional e-mail survey focused on the founders of these schools. The public elementary schools established by the Prague 1 to Prague 10 municipalities were selected for the survey. On the basis of the information found, the practical part is closed by suggestions for solving the unsatisfactory situation both from the viewpoint of individual primary schools and from the point of view of their founders.
