Physiotherapy options for children with obesity
MARTINCOVÁ, Petra
This bachelor thesis focuses on the physiotherapy of obese children. It is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part includes information about obesity, its influence on health, its diagnosis as well as etiopathogenesis, and its prevention and treatment. This part deals with obesity within the epidemic context of the 21st century, as it is predominantly called in the world. Moreover, the theoretical part discusses the financial costs that are necessary for treatment, it also opens the topic of stigmatization and normalization of obesity or shows the relation of childhood obesity with Covid-19. The theory presents us with a way to approach physiotherapy. Furthermore, we will learn about the motivation of the children, the natural age relations, kinesiotherapy for obese children, and about possible physical activities suitable for obese children. Part of the practical part is research in which I was regularly exercising with a group of obese children aged 6-11 and giving them physical homework. Then, these results were qualitatively gathered and processed based on kinesiological analyses and both entry and concluding questionnaires. This thesis aimed to optimize the children's locomotor apparatus, improve children's relationship with movement, and inform both parents and children about childhood obesity and its impact on health in adulthood. This thesis describes the importance of motivating children to do physical activities, the possibilities of physiotherapeutic interventions, and lists of suitable exercises for an obese individual. For the educative part, this bachelor thesis includes a handbook for children and their parents about childhood obesity, its risks, and possible solutions as well as an exercise unit with the description of individual exercises. This thesis can be beneficial for anyone interested in the topic of childhood obesity as well as physiotherapists, for example, serving as an inspiration for working with obese children.

MÁTLOVÁ, Denisa
This bachelor thesis deals with the nutritional literacy of high school students. The main goal is to map students' nutritional awareness, what knowledge do students have about racional nutrition, whether they are interested in it and where they get informations from. The theoretical part describes the period of adolescence, including nutritional recommendation for adolescence, the problematic of eating disorders, children obesity, causes of obesity, prevention and treatment. The last chapter of the theoretical part describes other eating disorders. For the research part of my work, I chose the quantitative method, for data collection I chose questionnare and the collection of three-day meal plans. 84 students participated in the research, out of which 60 were women and 24 were men aged 16-20. Questions 1-5 divided respondents by age, gender, school and field of study, by height and weight. Questions 6-18 asked students about their nutritional awareness, questions 19-29 asked about students' lifestyle. In the second part I compare the three-day meal plans of 8 respondents, including the evaluation of one sample meal plan. The meal plans were calculated in the Nutriservis Professional program and evaluated after. The research shows that students' awareness of rational nutrition is at a good level, students are interested in nutrition and they stated internet as the main source of information. Furthermore, the research showed that boys have better nutritional knowledge than girls and high school students do not have better knowledge than vocational school students.

The influence of school meals and family on the development of overweight and childhood obesity
Skřivanová, Eliška ; Kytnarová, Jitka (advisor) ; Weidenthalerová, Edita (referee)
Currently childhood obesity has reached epidemiological levels and can be considered one of the world's biggest problems. The probability of an obese child becoming an obese adult is dangerously high. These children are also more likely to develop health risks. The mechanism of development of obesity is conditioned by a number of factors. These are most often genetic factors, whilst their environment also plays a large role. In this case the influence of the family and the preferred lifestyle, which plays a significant part in the development of obesity, may be a factor. Early treatment and detection is important to prevent future issues with weight and serious health risks. However in order for obesity to be treated, it must first be diagnosed, the so-called diagnosis of childhood obesity. School meals in Czech Republic are considered to be one of the most advanced in Europe. It is not about providing a sufficiently strict diet, it also pays attention to variety, balance of dishes and dining culture. School meals must comply with the legislation, comply with financial limits and follow nutritional standards, respectively a consumer basket that sets out the required quantity of ten food commodities per pupil a day and these have to be adhered to within one month. The environment of prevention...
