The common goal of the research was to determine how the parents of children attending a children's group view the children's group, to discover their motivation for choosing it over other institutions, and to find what parents believe the purpose of children's groups is. The research showed that parents have a positive attitude towards children's groups and evaluate the service of child care in a children's group as beneficial. They perceive the children's group as a fully satisfactory alternative to kindergartens which can significantly help with the lack of places in kindergartens. The research focuses on the job of child educators in Czech children's day-care centres and on their relationships with other participants in such organisations (parents, colleagues, superiors and children).
