Accessibility of Web Technologies and Standards

This thesis deals with accessibility and web standards. It explains the importance of creating accessible web pages due to disabled users. Individual disabilities are briefly described in a separate chapter. The thesis presents a summary of Web accessibility standards in Europe, America, Australia and Asia. This analysis is completed by comparing the individual countries. The second part focuses on the formalization of different ways, where three methods are applied to three different guidelines.

Kvalita vládnutí a výdaje na obranu

The thesis examines two phenomena, namely defence spending and the quality of governance. The selected countries in which these two phenomena are examined in this thesis are selected countries of different world organizations or geograph-ical regions. To fully understand the issue, a section of the thesis is devoted to the description of the selected regions and their evolution. Subsequently, the phenom-ena of governance quality are described, and their determinants are examined. Both phenomena and their development are studied separately and then their in-terdependence and connection is examined. The conclusion is devoted to an as-sessment of the connection between the two issues.

The Process of Admitting Vietnam to the ASEAN

1 Abstract In this bachelor thesis, the topic of Vietnam's admission to ASEAN in 1995 is explored. The decision to accept Vietnam into the organization was peculiar given Vietnam's history and the reasons for the organization's creation. The essay aims to answer the question of why the ASEAN members decided to admit Vietnam. Possible reasons for the decision include mutual economic benefit, common security risks, and social or cultural issues. The thesis uses selected theories in international relations to analyze the topic through a chronological-descriptive analysis of various sources, including book sources, articles in periodicals, legislative documents of the organization, and internet sources. The introductory part of the thesis discusses the origin, reasons for formation, and organizational structure of ASEAN. Additionally, three selected theories of international relations are briefly described to examine the possible reasons for and against the admission of Vietnam into the organization. The thesis determines whether these theories are appropriate for this case. Traveler Čeněk Paclt (1813-1887) - the first Czech that has ever been to all five continents in respect to historical anthropology

This dissertation analyzes the life of Czech traveler Čeněk Paclt (1813 - 1887), who was born in the town of Turnov. Čeněk Paclt belongs to the most famous Czech travelers. He is also the first Czech, who has provably traveled through all five inhabited continents and has left written evidence about his journeys. Fundamental part of this thesis is focusing on his life and describes his adventures, which he had come across on the five continents. The thesis is written in historical, and employs historical anthropology, which focuses on a single individual in the course of human events, as one of the main methodological approaches. Secondarily, this thesis elaborates Paclt's personality and his view on aboriginal cultures, which he encountered during his travels, and Paclt's relationship towards his hometown is also mentioned. Furthermore, the dissertation touches upon traveling background in Czech nation during 19th century.

Re-established partnership: Analysis of the American-Philippine security cooperation during Bush and Obama administrations

This bachelor thesis analyzes the security cooperation between the United States and the Philippine Republic during the period between 2001 and 2016 during which the security cooperation went through major changes. The U.S.-Philippine alliance became one of the cornerstones for the stabilization of the turbulent region of Southeast Asia. The main goal of this thesis is to analyze the areas of mutual cooperation, what are the arguments for the improvement of the partnership and what role was played by the People's Republic China in forming this relationship. The first chapter is explaining the historical context of the cooperation which is necessary to deepen the understanding of the topic. The second part analyses the security threats which influenced the building of the security cooperation between Washington and Manila. The third chapter focuses on the evolution of the U.S.-Philippine security relations during George W. Bush's administration. Bush's declaration of War on terror had a significant impact on improvement of the U.S.-Philippine security relations. The last chapter analyzes president Obama's Pivot to Asia and examines how Chinese military activities are reflected in Washington's relations with Manila. Russian international arms trade: Opportunism or strategy?

This master's thesis focuses on Russian international trade of conventional weapons. Arms trade had played an important role during the Cold War as a tool to gain influence. Currently, Russia is using it to regain the influence it had lost after the dissolution of the Soviet Union in various regions around the world. At the same time, Russia is the second largest arms exporter after the United States. The thesis briefly addresses past Russian arms trade, but the main focus is on the decade between 2010 and 2020. It answers the question whether Russia currently uses its arms trade opportunistically to only maximalise its economic profit or whether it serves as a part of a larger strategy to balance the influence of the United States. The work focuses on Asia, the MENA region, and Latin America. It analyses circumstances surrounding arms deliveries from Russia into the countries in these regions. The thesis consists of several case studies, which illustrate the evolution of Russian approach towards arms trade. It reaches the conclusion that, for Russia, international arms trade is an important tool to help reach its foreign policy goals. Problematika pracovních podmínek v oděvním průmyslu ve vybraných asijských zemích

This bachelor thesis is focused on the working conditions in the clothing industry in selected Asian countries, namely in Bangladesh, Cambodia and India. The first part of the thesis deals with the characteristics and the definitions of working conditions, clothing industry and the working environment together with the wage. The largest part of the theoretical aspect is focused on the legal definition of individual countries, which was taken from the official legal documents. The second part focuses directly on the individual problems which are in the contrary to the legal definition. On the grounds of this situation there are remedial measures proposed, as well as the global and Czech campaigns dealing with the given issues.

Economic development of South Asian countries

Aim of this thesis is to empirically verify the validity of Rostows Stages of economic growth model and Solow-Swan model of economic growth realized by using statistical data South Asian countries reported. Theoretical part is devoted to characteristics of the growth models, explaining the assumptions theories work with and defining their origins and possible limitations. Practical part is focused on the analysis of statistical outputs newly industrialized Asian countries (Asian Tigers). The choice of selected data for analysis is justified. The data are further evaluated against expectations out of the Rostows and Solows theory of economic growth. The appropriateness of the growth models with regard to the territories is also evaluated.
