Czech film advertisin during the first republic
Zima, Tomáš ; Vošahlíková, Pavla (advisor) ; Bednařík, Petr (referee)
The thesis is aimed on film advertising in the period of the Czechoslovak First Republic, which is often a neglected, but extremely interesting chapter in the study of advertising history. The origin of film advertising is examined from the point of view of the advertiser, creators, but also the technical possibilities and available technical background, which was often a limiting factor for the development of film as such. The possible reach of the film advertising at the time is then illustrated by the development of the number of cinemas in Czechoslovakia, their total attendance, as well as the number of these films and the average attendance per show.
Great Britain and Appeasement. Contribution to the History of Foreign Policy of the Island State in the 1930s
Posuzuji vliv poválečných konferencí a spojeneckých dohod. Strach z šíření bolševismu, světové hospodářské krize a revizionistické názory pomohly mimo jiné i Hitlerovi k moci v Německu.
Representations of leftist ideological attitudes in magazine "Doba"
SCHMIDTOVÁ, Lenka
The bachelor thesis deals with the communist-oriented cultural-political magazine Doba, published in 1934-1935. In addition to heuristic and descriptive activities, the work also includes an analysis of left-wing ideological attitudes, especially in authors whose surrealistic interests in literature were developed simultaneously with the ideology of socialist realism in magazine Doba. The analysis of individual cases is examined within the contemporary social and cultural context, while also focusing on comparison with other contemporary periodicals.
Economic Policy in the USA and Germany 1933–1939
Johnson, Zdenka ; Tajovský, Ladislav (advisor) ; Krebs, Vojtěch (referee) ; Slaný, Antonín (referee)
The dissertation provides an analysis, evaluation, and comparison of selected areas of economic policy in the United States of America and Germany from 1933 to 1939 within the context of the 1920s, the Great Depression, and the Second World War. Based on a thorough analysis of the determined objectives, tools, the intended and unintended impacts of their fiscal policies, monetary policies, and foreign-trade policies, the dissertation thesis aims to verify the basic hypothesis that the United States and German economic policies were largely similar as responding to similar issues that both advanced economies had to face. During the verification process, the author relies mainly on the genuine processing and analysis of original statistical sources. In the individual chapters of the dissertation both identical, and also different features in selected types of economic policies are presented. On the basis of a comparison of the main economic-policies trends, despite some differences in the partial characteristics of chosen economic policy types, it can be concluded that economic policies of the central governments of Germany and the United States of America were similar in surprisingly many respects.

Media transformations of Pepina Rejholsova
Škopková, Andrea ; Sekera, Martin (advisor) ; Bednařík, Petr (referee)
The work reflects one of the most popular fictional character of the first half of the 1930s, Pepina Rejholcová. Pepina Rejholcová, whose author Frantisek Voborsky, an important personality of Czech comics, has appeared in the Czech press at the turn of the 1920s and 1930s - first as a side character of humorous drawings or illustrations for popular song lyrics. Soon after, she reappeared on the silver screen, on pages of children's books, or in children's rooms in the form of toys and sweets. The transformations of the originally illustrated archetype caused by the switch among the various media are the center of interest for this work. In this context, the aspects of intermediality and transmediality are examined, both in special and general terms. It is mainly the extent to which the originally cartoon character changes, and whether the content of the message, the narrative patterns and the concept of humor is changing as well. In broader context, the work is a contribution to the theme of media and institutional integration. The work is divided into five parts and a conclusion. The first part outlines the theoretical viewpoints, the second part is devoted to Pepina Rejholcova's character, the third part reflects media representations, the fourth discusses essential characteristics of typical...
