Approaches of Roma parents to the education of their children.

The diploma thesis deals with the approaches of Roma parents living in socially excluded localities in Chomutov to the education of their children. The thesis deals with the issue of social exclusion in the Czech Republic and also in the locality of Chomutov. The thesis also informs about the so-called Strategic Plan for Social Inclusion for the years 2017-2020, which was prepared for the city of Chomutov, in cooperation with the city management and the Agency for Social Inclusion and describes in detail the Local Inclusion Plan, which forms an important part of the Strategic Plan for Social Inclusion . It also deals with the issue of education and education for Roma children, segregation of Roma children in schools, inclusive education. The work also deals with Roma parents, Roma children and their pupil role, their social environment with respect to the fulfillment of the given goal. Furthermore, it informs about the personality of a teacher who works with Roma children at school and his / her competences. As a method of data collection, the method of individual interviews with Roma parents was used to achieve the chosen goal. Inclusion in the proces of education, from the teachers point of view, ZS Lupacova Praha 3

The Diploma Thesis represents teachers' approach to the inclusion, and the inclusive education in a common primary school. The theoretical part provides information about the basic legislation in the field of inclusion, and explains terms such as integration, inclusion, inclusive education. It focuses on the supportive arrangements for pupils with special educational needs, and analyses specifics of inclusive settings in the concrete school. The practical part describes the research. The aim of the research was to point out the teachers' attitude towards the inclusion and to evaluate their experience with the inclusive settings at the concrete school. The research reveals positive as well as negative opinions. It also summarises difficulties regarding the inclusive education. The research points out that there is slightly more of a negative attitude among the teachers towards the inclusion, however more than half of the teachers feel the importance of inclusion regarding pupils with specific educational needs. For further development of inclusion, the teachers would appreciate a reduction of students in their working groups, as well as an increase number of teacher assistants. The specifics of working with children of foreign parents in a regular kindergarten

The diploma thesis is about education and integration of children - foreigners in the field of pre-school education. This thesis specifies the specifics of working with these children in standard kindergarten. The goal of this work is to find forms, methods and ways how to work with children - foreigners before starting compulsory schooling. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part the thesis clarifies the work and basic terminology, which includes a comparison of the terms child - foreigner and child with a different mother tongue. Furthermore, the thesis covers topics as communication, education, integration of children - foreigners into the environment of standard kindergartens and describes forms and methods of working with them. Within the practical part dominates a research focused on finding methods and forms of working with children - foreigners in pre-school facilities. This research was conducted in a selected kindergarten and it is based on research questions which were set. Data collection was conducted in the way of observation of kindergarten classes and interviews with school staff. Gathered data helped to find the answers to the research questions. Possibilities of the development of preschool children in a asylum homes

This Diploma Thesis is designed as a case study based on qualitative research focusing on searching the options of support on pre-school children development in the environment of shelters for mothers or families with children. In the theoretical part starting points are presented regarding the issues of family, shelter, school maturity and readiness as well as an issue of constituent functions, possibilities of their diagnostics and development. The initial part of the empiric part describes methodological processes and a research plan is presented. Followed by research report regarding the study in twelve shelters in Prague. One of the research goals was to design a simple manual of development for children aged 3-6 which might have been used as a support for social workers in those shelters. The research tools included questionnaires and interviews among social workers. The questionnaires helped to map the size of shelters, length of stay and characteristic of their clients, approach of institutions to the development of pre-school and school age children as well as the attitudes of social workers towards such development of pre-school children. The Role of Teaching Assistant at Elementary School

This thesis concerns the cooperation between teacher and teaching assistant (TA) at mainstream elementary school, with the emphasis on perception of TA's presence at the first stage and the second stage of education. It is comprised of two sections. Theoretical part is divided into three chapters. The first chapter focuses on the current concept definition of integrative and inclusive pedagogy, and coherent changes in recent years. The second one outlines the professional approach to TA, with emphasis on their usage at mainstream schools, including their employment abroad. The last chapter targets on mutual relationship of TA and other pedagogical staff, teachers and students themselves. The practical part of the thesis is devoted to mixed research which has two parts. The first one deals with the role of TA at mainstream elementary school focusing on his cooperation with teacher, in terms of a first-stage and second-stage class. For purpose of this part of study was chosen the qualitative research method with the usage of semi-structured in-depth interview. There were selected three respondents with required profiles. Role of the teacher assistant in inclusive education from the perspective of teacher at elementary school

The topic of the thesis is the role of the teacher's assistant in inclusive education from the perspective of a teacher at elementary school. The aim is to find out how teachers perceive the position of teacher's assistant in the education of pupils with special educational needs. The theoretic part deals with basic and inclusive education, including relevant legislation, support measures, defining the position of teacher's assistant, his / her competences, job description and possibilities of cooperation with the class teacher. The empirical part analyzes interviews with class teachers who teach a pupil with special educational needs and thanks to they can cooperate with teacher assistants. Everything is complemented with findings from the observation of the activities of the teacher's assistant in the given class. At the end of the thesis, research questions are answered and some suggestions are defined. The research shows that the teacher's assistant is a necessary support in the classroom especially for pupils with mental disabilities.
