Being a Skinhead/Skingirl

The aim of this work is to analyze the value system of present-day Skinheads and Skingirls in the context of their historical emergence. In the introductory part I address the theories of upheavals and subcultures and the possibility of their application in the case of Skinheads. The second part is devoted to the history of Skinheads around the world - mainly that of the Skinheads in Great Britain, the place, where the subculture first emerged; and to the history of Skinheads in Czech Republic. The historical background is very important for the description of present-day Skinheads, because this subculture had undergone several important changes and differentiations during its development. The beginning of the empirical part of this work introduces the methods used in this paper. For the data collecting the method of snowball sampling was used and the subsequent analysis was carried out using the grounded theory. The next part is devoted generally to values, being main focus of the whole work. In the analysis itself I address particular subjects, which were categorized in the interviews and in lyrical text of Skinhead bands. Dispute over construction of the D3 highway in Central Bohemian region

The thesis tries to analyse dispute over path of the D3 highway through locality of Posázaví. Discussion about this topic was talked over in media space for over twenty-five years. Many actors from public, governmental and political sphare participated in the discussion over the time. Thesis use analysis of local press andother other resources to create complex picture of the dispute including actors a their actions wih primary focus on description of argumetns and topics with their developement. Deeper analysis with use of other literature will be inherent. Secondary purpose of the thesis will be describe conflict from historic perspective and name main actors with their arguments.
Involving Children from Children's Homes in the Life of Public Libraries

This thesis deals with two different institutions - a library and a children's home. The theoretical part describes the activities of the public library and its perception in society. The part related to the children's home briefly summarizes institutional care, the process of preparing children to leave the facility and the possible associated problems. The last part describes the cooperation of these institutions. In the practical part, qualitative research is carried out in the form of semi-structured interviews with respondents from library and children's house. According to analysis of these interviews, a project is proposed to integrate children from a children's home into the daily life of the community. It seeks to explore attributes based on which one can define a certain rap expression as the "real" one. The theoretical part includes the definition of the term subculture, main attributes of hip hop (sub)culture, and the definition of authenticity, the key concept of the dissertation. In dialogue with the findings of the hip hop studies of Western countries, this dissertation looks at the authenticity claims expressed in Czech rap music and the context and situations in which the question of authenticity of Czech rappers becomes important. The empirical part of the dissertation is based on the perspective of the insider research using a combination of qualitative methods: (1) semi structured interviews with twenty rappers (one of them female); (2) qualitative content analysis of selected rap lyrics; and (3) participant observation at different hip hop events. The theme of this bachelor thesis are interactive applications for learning musical instruments. The theoretical part focuses on the use of the Internet (web 2.0, web 3.0, music 3.0), information technologies and interactive applications in the areas of modern music education and also describes the current state of use of these applications, which is based mainly on foreign academic journals, articles or studies related to this topic. The main part of the thesis consists of qualitative research with conservatorists studying at selected Prague conservatories. The research was conducted to determine the conservatorist's user experience with these applications and simultaneously verify the potential and real benefits of such conceived applications.
Live electronics - The Role of the Performer as an Active Creator

The bachelor thesis deals with use of computer technology in live music performance and its possible influences on musician, while producing a live music. The first goal of this thesis is to describe and to evaluate position of musician whitin musical group. The second goal is to describe and to evaluate musician's own part in live music making. First of all the term live electronics is specified. Next is the description of historical development, that was important for the field of live electronics. The way or manner of work with electronical and computer based instruments is also described. The thesis continues with list of means which musician has now available in computer based instruments and different points of view on subject of this thesis are stated. For achieving the goal of this theses qualitative research via semi-structured interview was used. The results are that seven out of eight muscians think that computer based instruments can have influence on their creative music making. There are different ways how said influence is dealt with: First way is that musician thinks critically of his/her computer based instruments. Second way is making use of these tendences. Visual Form of Catalogues in the "Most Beautiful Book of the Year" Award as a Mirror of Contemporary Graphic Design

This bachelor thesis deals with the research of the "Most Beautiful Czech Books of the Year" competition catalogs, that were published in the period of 1990-2016. The research itself is divided into four phases, the first stage of which deals with analyzes of individual catalogs in terms of graphic design and polygraphic processing. The second phase of the research is focused on obtaining authentic testimonies from the authors of graphic editing of the catalogs, which are cited in the text of the thesis. In two final stages of the research, the obtained results are compared and interpreted. The output of document analyzes presents a systematic overview of the ""Most Beautiful Czech Books of the Year" competition catalogs, that were published in the period of 1990-2016. The Motivation For Joining the Active Reserve From a Women Perspective

My diploma thesis focuses on women in the active reserve. Active reserve has become more popular due to new security threats and increasing need of people to be prepared when something goes wrong. In theoretical part I introduce the basic concepts that my work is based on. I focus on the active reserve from their origin till the nowadays. As for the empirical part, I have done ten semi-structured interviews with the women - members of the active reserve. The goal of this thesis is to find out what motivates the women to enter this primarily male-dominated area. Within my thesis I was also wondering what kind of reactions based on participation in active reserve my informants have to deal with and if there are any advantages or disadvantages connected with being the active reservist. 0 Abstract This thesis named "Retrospective Preview of the activities of the Music Department of SVK Ústí nad Labem and the concept of a future merger with the sound library", in the form of a case study describes, in the introductory part, the activities of the North Bohemian research library in General, in other parts it is described and evaluated the historical development of the Music Department and it is also described the transition from special funds to the Music Department, and as well the introduction of automation of library processes into library practice. In the practical part of the thesis is in the form of semi- structured interviews and statements by senior management personnel and other library staff presented the issue of the merger of the music department and a sound library for the blind and visually impaired. The conclusion is dedicated to the evaluation of current activities and the situation of both departments and reflection on the possible operation in the future. New Media in Music Education

The theme of this master thesis is new media in music education. The theoretical part focuses on the description of the current situation - how and in what quantities are modern technology used in music education and what is their potential. In the introduction are defined the basic terms relating to those themes (new media, music 3.0, e-learning etc.) and a review of the literature regarding changes in music education in recent years. This introductory part is based on researches and papers on the subject of changes in today's music world and new possibilities that pupils and students have in the time of ubiquitous internet and freely available new media (application, online courses, educational games, specialized social networks). The theoretical part includes a brief overview of complimentary and free available technologies, which could be implemented into czech music education, including the proposal of integration to the classrooms. The main part of this master thesis consists of qualitative research with music teachers working in czech music schools (at all levels - from elementary art schools to music universities).
