Specifics of alternative family care institutions The Keywords: Substitute Family Care Adoption Foster care Constitutional Education Children's Home Chances for the Future Abstract: The purpose of this thesis is to describe the specifics of individual foster care institutions. The thesis consists of two parts. The theoretical part illustrates the history adoption and foster care. Moreover various forms of alternative family care will be described adoption, foster care, guardianship, institutional care or facilities for children requiring immediate assistance. The practical part deals with the children's homes. It describes Children's Home in Horšovský Týn. Racial prejudice at the secondary school students in Prague

(in English) The thesis main focus is to research racial prejudice of the secondary school students in Prague. Firstly, the theoretical part analyses adolescence as a specific developmental period. Secondly, it describes the profile of secondary school student based on an analysis of Framework Education Programme for Secondary General Education (Grammar Schools) in relation to the formation and consolidation of a set of beliefs, attitudes and value orientation of the students. Finally, it examines the area of prejudices and prejudicial thinking. The practical part is devoted to the research of prejudicial thinking of students from two secondary schools in Prague, the methodology of the research and the results evaluation.
The issue of lifelong education of general nurses

Lifelong education of general nurses has been permanently a very current and topical issue, especially in connection with the necessity to introduce new standards of education of non- medical health professionals following the Czech Republic's accession to the European Union, in connection with implementation of the Act No. 96/2004 Coll., on conditions of acquiring and recognizing professional qualifications to perform non-medical health care professions, in connection with amendments of this legislation which brought about not only changes into the way of lifelong education but also increased the competences of nurses, but also in connection with preparation of a new legislation which shall replace the Act No. 96/2004 Coll. on non-medical health professions, and shall, due to dissatisfaction with the existing system, completely alter the concept of both professional and lifelong education. The aim of the Diploma Thesis about the Integration of an adopted child into a family is to analyse a process of integrating of an adopted child into a new family and identify areas with problems with adaptation on a new educational background. The main emphasis is put on an area of family relationship and educational problems. This Thesis is divided into the theoretical and the practical part. The theoretical part contains three chapters and the practical part includes a methodology of a research and a research report. The first chapter of the theoretical part is dedicated to a family as a basic supportive surround. A family is defined there, various conceptions of family workings and family functions are described there. The next subheads deal with family malfunction, psychical needs of children and parents and a psychic deprivation arising from unfilled needs. The second chapter explains basic terms of an alternative care. PhDr. Jaroslav Koťa Year of submission of dissertation: 2012 Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague, Department of Education The dissertation has a theoretically-empirical character and deals with the solution to the problem of comparing the pubescents' achievement in leisure activities and in school. The aim of the work was to map out the theoretical solutions of the problem and their authentication via the research survey. In the theoretical part of the work, first of all, the achievement in education processes is analyzed from the point of view of sociological theories and researches. Subsequently the analysis of the causes of school pubescents' achievement and underachievement follows. On the basis of the analysis the assumptions are deduced for pubescents' achievement in organized leisure time activities. Value Orientation and Life Plans of Children and Youth with Behaviour Disorders

This thesis deals with the value orientation and life plans of children and adolescents who are placed into young offenders' institutions because of their behavioural disorders. The theoretical part elucidates basic conceptions related to values and value orientations. It applies to individual development, family issues and education, behavioural disorders and refers to the difficulty of education and re-education in school facilities for the practice of institutional and protective education. The empirical part is a combination of a quantitative and a qualitative research. The questionnaire survey was used to determine the value orientation, life goals, preferred leisure activities, some attitudes and information about clients from the young offenders' institutions. The questionnaires were handed over to respondents from the six children's homes with school and young offenders' institutions. The established values hierarchy and life goals were compared with the results of a similar research. The unstructured interviews with children ending the compulsory education were mainly focused on the choice of study and career orientation. Possibilities and difficulties of a school primary prevention consultant work in primary schools

This thesis has been divided into two parts. The first - the theoretical part sta- tes the concept and methodology of school competence of a primary prevention worker at elementary school. The paper presents three reference frames of his wor- king - the legal framework, the framework of professional and social framework. These frameworks define specific competencies, potentials and risks in the per- formance of specialized activities in practice. General picture of the specialized activities SMPP is further elaborated in the following areas: methodology positi- ons in the school environment, the methodology and relationship with the school management , working among the pedagogical staff, the proportion of co-creation methodology for school climate and his possible influencing the climate. The text also discusses the ethics of educational and socio-educational work. Problems, Limits a nd Possibilities of Attendance Assistant

The bachelor's thesis is focused on the issue of assistance service in the Czech Republic. The emphasis is put on the function of assistant pedagogue. This function represents one of the two forms of assistance service. Some of the chapters are concerned with legislative determination of assistance service, educational options for assistant pedagogue; and specific difficulties of this function as well. With regards to this function, part of the thesis is deals with the issue of integration of students with special educational needs. Stress is laying on the integration of scholars with Asperger's syndrome. The thesis focuses on its definition, history, diagnostic criteria and the consequential aspects of pedagogic work. The bachelor's thesis also includes a case study of scholar with Asperger's syndrome.
Logotherapy as a Path to Solving the Existential Problems

(in English) This thesis is an attempt to outline the key principles of logotherapy as a way to resolve emotional states of emptiness or lack of life's meaning. It familiarizes the reader with elementary terminology such as existential vacuum or existential neuroses, with the methodology, and last but not least, with the creator of this psycho-therapeutical movement as well as with his successors. This work emphasizes the principal tenets of logotherapy based on the book called "A Přesto Říci Životu Ano". The reader is elaborately introduced to the techniques of logotherapy and discovers the crucial attributes of working with clients. The text also potentially aspires to being a guideline for seeking the meaning in one's life.
Using Experiential learning in work with drug addicted youth

This dissertation deals with the use of experiential learning in the work with drug-addicted youth. Theoretical part of my dissertation defines concept of experience, experiential learning and therapeutic community. In the practical part I firstly map organizations in the Czech Republic, which are working with drug-addicted youth, using experiential learning. Then, secondly, in two already mentioned organizations I am undertaking interviews with therapists and clients, recognizing the benefits they find in the experiential programs.
