Assisting Charles University Students with Special needs

Annotation The thesis aims at analyzing the service of Assisting Charles University Students with Special Needs from the point of view of all the parties concerned. It exploers both weaknesses and strenghts of the service by means of analyzing interviews with Charles University members of staff, who represent the service in the Office for Students with Special Needs, with users of the service, and particularly with its "providers" or assistants themselves. Proposals to solve possible problems are included. The thesis is based on the results of a questionaire and an analysis of interviews with 33 assistants and 10 users of the service. Respite Services for People with Autism and Mental Retardation - Availability in Regions

This diploma thesis deals with respite service and issues with providing respite services to parents of children and adults with autism and mental retardation. The opening chapters focus on autistic spectrum disorder in combination with mental retardation and potential challenging behaviour. This work describes therapeutic process for persons with autism and mental retardation and it also describes the issues with providing social service to these persons. This thesis focuses mainly on respite services. The empirical part describes the availability of respite services for families with autistic person and mental retardation in the Czech Republic.
Psychosocial situation of the hospitalized child with posttraumatic renal tissue integrity

The goal of my thesis is to summarize findings of a special education pedagogue at the burns medicine clinic in Prague. In the academic part of the thesis the questions of bums are defined, as well as the history of their treatment and approaches to the prevention of such injuries. Further on, the author defines notions such as illness and its psychological impacts on a child, hospitalism, etc. The last part of the academic part deals with education of children in health care institutions; especially operation of an elementary school and a kindergarten in the Královské Vinohrady faculty hospital in Prague, where the research for this thesis had been carried out. The practical part of the thesis is based on the execution and evaluation of a questionnaire and describes 6 case studies of children after the burn shock caused in various ways. Problem of the dyslalia is the main target of this graduation thesis . It's based on the value of dyslalia 1. st. school year. The teoretical part provides knowledges, which deales with this issue. It's especially based on the basic terms: communication, communication disorder, communication with the relationship to RVP PV a RVP ZV. The main part of the teoreticial part pursue of the komplex proccesing dyslalia problem (classification, symptomatology, etiology, diagnosis and therapy), graduation thesis is also pursue of dyslalia problems and it's possible impacts on life (dyslalia and school, children with impaired articulation and teacher, dyslalia's social and psychological consequences). The practical part is prepared on the basis of the survay. For this survay it was used the quantitative research methods. The Survay respondents were student's parents. Determine approximate values of dyslalia occurrence in the first school year was the main target of this practical part.
Penitentiary system of the Czech Republic - presence and future

The diploma thesis deals with the penitentiary system of the Czech Republic. It contains a brief excursion into the past of the Czech penitentiary system, i.e. the history of punishment in our territory. Attention is paid to the present penitentiary system of the Czech Republic, legislative development, problematic legal regulation, its impact on practice, as well as to the view to the future (within the frame of the new Czech penitentiary system conception). The diploma thesis represents the functioning of the Prison Service of the Czech Republic, its tasks and aims. The last chapter of the theoretical part is devoted to the future of the Czech penitentiary system, especially to changes in the external differentiation of prisons. The practical part of the thesis is a qualitative research survey (structured interviews with employees of the Prison Service of the Czech Republic). It maps the attitude of Prison Service employees to the existing penitentiary system and to legislative adjustments effective from October 2017. The aim of this diploma thesis is to analyse the current penitentiary system of the Czech Republic in the context of valid legislative changes. Life with asperger's syndrome at university

This diploma thesis deals with the life of a student with Asperger Syndrome at university. The theoretical part is dedicated to the characteristics of Asperger Syndrome, it explains the history, terms and specific areas of the given disability. Further, the work explores the particular areas in the life of the individual with this disability and familiarizes the readers with the organizations, which help the people with Asperger Syndrome. On the basis of the theoretical part, qualitative research investigation was selected for the practical part of the thesis. In the practical part, there is presented the case study of the individual with Asperger Syndrome, which provides an overall insight into the ways of supporting a student with Asperger Syndrome at university by means of the analysis of the interviews, observations and documents. Attitudes of young people with disabilities to academic education

This thesis deals with issues of level and structure of education of contemporary Czech population with a view to the target group of disabled people. It talks about historical evolution in this field, current trends and available statistical data, which represent it. A prominent theme of the thesis is a lower number of disabled people with university education in comparison with intact population. We will have a short look at supportive measures for students with special needs at Czech universities as well. Then, a part of the thesis is a survey which examines attitudes of young disabled people towards university education.
