DISERTAČNÍ PRÁCE V ANGLICKÉM JAZYCE Mediation in the Czech Republic A doctoral thesis represents an evaluation of the fulfillment of the legislator's predicted objectives and expectations placed into the adopted legislation of mediation after ten years of its effectiveness in the legal system of the Czech Republic. The text is divided into thirteen chapters, which gradually address the main topics related to the new civil law regulation of mediation. The first chapter briefly describes the development and existing mediation regulation in the Czech Republic. Next, there are identified the main points of research interest, which are elaborated in more detail in the following chapters. The attention is successively paid to the topics of (i) the duplex legal regulation of mediation, (ii) the performance of mediation outside the framework of the Mediation Act, (iii) the presumed benefits and guarantees associated with mediation under the Mediation Act, (iv) confidentiality of the subjects involved in mediation, (v) the remuneration and reimbursement of the mediator's expenses, (vi) prerequisites for the registered mediator profession, (vii) special legislation for mediator-attorneys, (ix) regulation of the first ordered meeting with a registered mediator, (x) the statute of limitations, (xi) direct...

COVID-19 and political preferences through stages of the pandemic: the case of the Czech Republic

We track the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on political preferences through ‘high’ and ‘low’ phases of the pandemic. We ask about the effects of the health and the economic costs of the pandemic measured at both personal and municipality levels. Consistent with the literature, we estimate effects suggestive of political accountability of leaders during ‘high’ pandemic phases. However, we also find that the pandemic political accountability effects are mostly short-lived, and do not extend to the first post-pandemic elections.

Fate of micropollutants during vermicomposting

Vermicomposting is recently becoming a rather popular environmentally friendly technique for stabilizing biowaste, including sewage sludge. There is an effort to utilize the sewage sludge as fertilizer on agricultural land. But apart from nutrients, the sludge also contains harmful pollutants, which subsequently after its deposition on fields can be taken up by plants and organisms contaminating the food chains. Micropollutants, the substances that can be found throughout the environment in trace concentrations, are one of the pollutants occurring in sludge. It is for example pharmaceuticals and personal care products, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, or pesticides. Their negative effects are known - they can be for instance endocrine disruption, antibiotic resistance, or the development of cancer. Although the deposition of sewage sludge on fields as a fertilizer is one of the main introduction routes of micropollutants to the environment, the content of micropollutants before deposition is not monitored nor regulated. New Areas of the Ultrasonic Application in Microelectronics Technology

Doctoral thesis deals with the deposition of special thixotropic materials for microelectronic technology. The aim of the work is the development of the new method optimizing the dosing process in order to achieve a print resolution of better than 100 microns. The work includes the development of a special dispensing head (UZD) using the influence of ultrasonic energy. These results demonstrate the possibility of a newly developed method that is able to print thixotropic materials with a resolution of 65 microns. Compared to other methods achieves these results with the commonly used materials for thick film technology with particle size up to 5 microns.

Dependence price of rent on common flat price

Main objective of this thesis is to determine the process for rent calculation of flats in line with presumptions influencing dependence of rent on common flat price. Proposed methodology is based on presumption of investing in property and possible yields or risks of this investment. The work studied the effects of correlation rentals and flat price.

The bachelor thesis focuses on the methods used for cost management through their detailed breakdown and selection of the calculation method. To compare the theoretical knowledge with reality a manufacturing company is being used for which a new calculation system is designed.

Marketing Strategy of Hotel Bítov

My diploma thesis deals with the analysis of the current situation, and subsequently, the appropriate marketing strategy for Hotel Bítov in the vicinity of Vranov dam. The theoretical parts deals with the isme of using marketing tools in the field of hotel services. The practical parts consists of the inner and outer analysis of the hotel surroundings. The results are summed up in the scope of a SWOT analysis from which the final marketing strategy follows.

Value Estimation of a Company

The master thesis deals with the determination of the value of the company Pekárna XYZ s.r.o. by using the income-based method. The thesis is divided into three main parts. The first part defines the theoretical background of the thesis. The second part firstly introduces the company, followed by strategic and financial analysis, including its evaluation. In the third part, the most appropriate valuation method is selected, and subsequently the value of the selected company is determined, as of January 1st, 2017.
