Temporality of perception in Edmund Husserl

The topic of my thesis is temporality of perception in Edmund Husserl. Its aim is to explain accurately and clearly Husserl's conception of temporality of perception. In terms of Husserl's phenomenology by temporality of perception is meant temporal constitution of perception and the perceived. Interpretation is based on set of lectures Ding und Raum (1907) and Vorlesungen zur Phanomenologie des inneren Zeitbewusstseins (1905). Fundamental thematic field can be marked out as follows: springing of the now in absolute flow of consciousness, its retention in time-consciuosness (temporal field as a continuum of past, present and future), within this continuum constituted immanent unities endowed with temporal duration, consciousness of identity constituted in spontaneity of consciousness as the fundamental basis for intentional relation toward an objectivity defined as identity in manifold of appearances. Within the interpretation of Husserl's conception of temporality of perception opens up a possibility of radicalization of motive of springing of the now of absolute flow of consciousness, that carries in itself time continuum, leading to the radical immanence of constitution in the springing of the now.

Agricultural party in the years 1920-1921

Tato rigorózní práce se zabývá dějinami agrární strany v pro ní přelomovém období let 1920 - 1921. K výběru daného tématu mě motivoval zájem o československé dějiny meziválečného období a to především o dobu první poloviny dvacátých let, v níž po do značné míry zlomovém roku 1920 docházelo ke konsolidaci nového státu a dobudovávání charakteru a tvářnosti jeho vnitropolitického života, na jehož scéně se nezřídka zračí motivy ne nepodobné některým aspektům našeho současného dění. A právě v tomto období patří k nejzajímavějším stránkám tehdejší historie problematika agrárního politického hnutí. To totiž představuje zdánlivý paradox a jakousi anomálii meziválečné periody československých dějin, totiž v tom, že v průmyslově vyspělém a sociální aspekty života společnosti dosti silně akcentujícím Československu, hrála roli hegemona vnitřní politiky státu typicky stavovská a na zemědělské výrobce orientovaná agrární strana. K lákavosti tohoto tématu přispěl i zájem o osobnost Antonína Švehly, která je příkladem mimořádného vlivu jedince na formování nejen jedné politické strany, ale i celého vnitropolitického života státu. Práce se pokouší přispět k poznání uvedených dvou let v dějinách agrární strany a k postižení jejich přelomového charakteru. Byl to totiž právě rok 1920, respektive jeho první polovina, v níž...

Searle's theory of institutions

V této třetí části jsem se zaměřila na otázku konstitutivních pravidel a její neviditelnost. Ukázala jsem, že neviditelnost, kterou má Searle na mysli, spočívá v tom, že si během činností v rámci institucionálních faktů často neuvědomujeme jejich realizace v předmětech X, ale zaměstnáváme svou -~~ mysl myšlenkami na smysl činností pojících se s funkcí Y. V této souvislosti jsem poukázala na podobnost s úvahami o základní formě vědomých daností vůbec a ve velmi hrubých rysech jsem načrtla přístupy Husserla a Heideggera. Zmínila jsem některé důvody pro to, abychom uznali dva druhy daností ve vědomí, z nichž jeden by odpovídal Searlovu přiřazení funkce, druhý pak realizaci této funkce. Klíčové přitom je, že danost, která hraje roli realizace nebo splňování funkce, nemusí mít podobu uvědomování si materiálních vlastností předmětu. To bylo také základem pro tvrzení, že kde trváme na neviditelnosti konstitutivního pravidla z důvodu neviditelnosti materiálních vlastností předmětu, nečiníme tak oprávněně - konstitutivní pravidlo může být reprezentováno v jiné podobě. Jistou neviditelnost lze připustit v případě převažujícího zájmu o smysl činností, které se s funkcí pojí, ani tam však podle mého názoru nemůže jít o naprostou neviditelnost trvající po dlouhé časové období, nýbrž jen o momentální zaujatost. Searching for the place of man in the universe in the work of Emanuel Rádl and Milan Machovec

This paper tries to search for the place of a man in the universe. For this purpose, the author decided to compare some of the key works of two major Czech philosophers, namely Emanuel Rádl and Milan Machovec. This paper is intended to offer the int roduction to the work of these two philosophers and/or to two philosophical t rends in the modern Czech philosophy. The fi rst chapter deals with methods of the philosophical work of both authors. It also describes the basic points of their questioning, as wel l as intentions they wished to achieve through this questioning. The second chapter focuses on the place of a man in the universe as perceived by Emanuel Rádl; the thi rd chapter analyses the same theme as presented in the work of Milan Machovec. The purpose of the fourth chapter is to present comparison of the main thoughts of the two preceding chapters, and to come to the intentions of this paper indicated above. This theme inter alia offers not only the insight into the contemporary Czech philosophy, but also the insight into the issues of the present life of a man and the society.

World of natural sciences and life world in Husserl's late work

The subject of this work is to map the relation between natural sciences and lifeworld on the ground of intentional-historical approach of late Husserl. The description of the problem of Galileo Galilei's foundation of science, its preconditions und consequences follows after an assignment of the main definitions and demonstrating of both arguments which Husserl uses to disprove objectivism. The idea of the mathematical nature establishing the modern physics indicates the necessity of brief clarification of the origin of geometry and philosophy as two motivating sense formations and the importance of the notion of "life-world apriori". In the following part I examine the notion of history which is a precondition of performed analyzes and the role of language in the process of sedimentation of sense. Critical discussion shows the ambiguous notion of the teleology of reason and the danger of confusion of an abstract understood life-world apriori with an overall interpretation of world. The main features of the life-world, the notion of science in the discussion between instrumentalism and science realism and Husserl's new scientism which should accomplish the idea of rational determination of mankind are summed up at the end of the work.

Psychological aspects of sales skills development

The topic of the diploma thesis is the case study of the business conversation with the client for persona! bankers and its psychological aspects. There is described the training programme, which has to develop the sales skills of the persona! bankers. The first part of the training is divided into six steps of business conversation with client and includes also the development centre. lt means there was also evaluation of the sales skills level of the participants. Then the second part of the training should take place - the advanced sales training - systematic six modules training, designed to eliminate the identified sales skills deficits. But only the first part of the training programme was realized, because the different training priorities were identified for the next year. Only part of the persona! bankers took part in this training. The theoretical part of the diploma thesis describes the communication theory and the training preparation problems. The empirical part of the diploma thesis describes the persona! banker position and then concerns on the first part of the training programme. There is also the methodology of the evaluation of the sales skills Ieve I.

Investigation of basic deformation mechanisms of magnesium alloys by means of advanced in-situ methods and theoretical modeling

The work is focused on developing testing methods for investigating of the deformation mechanisms of magnesium alloys. The work involves the measurement of in-situ acoustic emission and neutron diffraction and comparison to the theoretical models. Mg + 1wt.% Zr alloy was selected for investigation of the compression - tension asymmetry. Advanced analysis of acoustic emission and neutron diffraction data revealed activation of different slip systems during deformation. Moreover, the different evolution of twinning was explained. The same methods were used to investigate the aluminum influence on deformation mechanisms. The hardening of basal slip and twinning and increasing importance of prismatic slip was observed.

Peter Singer's ethics as a challenge to traditional morality

This essay chietly discusses the most controversial consequences of Peter Singer's preference utilitarianism in these three areas: 1) Singer's critique of human attitude towards animals and his demand of vegetarianism; 2) Singer' s rejection of sanctity of life ethics and his advocacy of abortion, infanticide and eutanasia; 3) Singer's conviction that we have a moral obligation to help financially poor people in third world countries to such an extent that giving more would cause us comparable amount of suffering as that we are trying to reduce. I also attempt to summarize main arguments of Singer' s critics. In my own criticism I tend to be quite generous to Singer and attack his opinions from within in most cases. I do my best to share not only my own arguments and examples, but also my personal experience and emotions, because this topic deserves nothing less in my opinion.

Fundation of meaning between Husserl and Merleau-Ponty

Původní inspirací této eseje byla prostá otázka po přetrvávání smyslu jedinečného, modelově pak uměleckého díla, napříč časem a pro různé bytosti. Snaha sledovat tuto otázku v rámci fenomenologické tradice snad má své opodstatnění, neboť je to koneckonců právě fenomenologie, která si vytyčila jako jeden ze svých cílů "návrat k věcem samým", zároveň se jedná o myšlenkový směr, jehož setrvalým tématem je smysl, jeho geneze, dění a (přinejmenším od Husserlovy Krize evropských věd) také jeho ztráta. Přesto se zdá, že otázka po přetrvávání jedinečného má v rámci fenomenologického východiska vnitřně rozporný charakter. Nakolik totiž každá fenomenologie začíná redukcí, obrací se k jevům resp. ke zjevování samotnému, a může se tak zabývat trváním jedinečného jen v jeho trvání pro nás, tedy pro nějaké vědomí (třeba i vědomí vtělené), resp. se pohroužit do fenomenálního pole, kde se však jednotlivé vytrácí. Jediné fenomény, které se pak vskutku zjevují trvale, jsou ty, k nimž není možné upínat pozornost pokaždé jinak, tj. fenomény, které se dávají v konečném počtu nástinů - tedy ideality či obecniny. Tento moment klade výchozí otázce eseje jistou překážku (pro samé trvání se totiž ztrácí jedinečné fenomény, a tváří v tvář jevům je zase třeba zapomenout na jejich vlastní přetrvávání). Přesto však: nejsou kupř. právě...
