Communication between school and family in formative assesment of pupils

This thesis deals with communication between school and family in the formative assessment of pupils. The main goal of this thesis is to map the procedures and conditions of functional communication between school and family regarding the formative assessment of pupils. This goal will be followed by a second goal, which is aimed at finding examples of good practice. The theoretical part deals with the topic of formative assessment, communication between school and family, which describes what role the parent can be in relation to the school and the last chapter deals with the assumptions of student learning at the 1st stage of primary school. The practical part is qualitative research, in which research methods of observation and a questionnaire will be used. This part is carried out at six primary schools in Prague by selected female teachers. These schools are divided into two groups. The first group consists of three schools that gradually introduce formative assessment or use it only by some teachers in the school. Communication and cooperation between the school and parents in the "Step by step" program

The diploma thesis deals with the topic of communication and cooperation between school and family in the first stage in the program Step by step. The theoretical part of the thesis defines the concept of communication and pedagogical communication, their functions and influencing factors. The thesis describes the program Step by step and its basic principles. Based on this, a large part of the work is devoted to comparing the forms of communication and cooperation in the program Start together with a common concept. The practical part examines personal and electronic types of communication and cooperation with the family in practice. Furthermore, the research focuses on the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on communication and cooperation between schools and families. Cooperation between school and family. The research of the work is based on a qualitative method of research in the form of a questionnaire. The author compares the results and concludes her work with a discussion. Activation methods and organisational forms at a primary school

The aim of the diploma thesis is to find out how teachers of the 1st stage of elementary schools use different types of methods, especially activation methods, to support pupils in motivation to learn and how they activate them in their learning performances. The theoretical part in the first chapter focuses on the issue of activation methods and organizational forms in terms of defining the concept, objectives, the main reasons for their implementation and classification of these methods. The second chapter characterizes the pupil at a younger school age, his needs and interests, which the teacher tries to fulfill purposefully through teaching methods. It also discusses the relationship between motivation and performance leading to the fulfillment of learning objectives. The last chapter focuses on the teacher's work with activation methods in the classroom, individual problems that may affect the use of teaching methods in the teaching process and factors that affect the motivation of students during lessons. In the practical part of the diploma thesis, I used qualitative research to find out how the teachers of the 2nd and 3rd grades of a selected Prague primary school use various teaching methods to activate pupils and so motivate them to perform. Strategies for improving the class climate

The diploma thesis is divided into two parts. Practical part and theoretical part. The theoretical part is focused on the characteristics of the younger school age of pupils who are the subject of the practical part of the diploma thesis. Furthermore, the theoretical part deals with the personality of the teacher, who is one of the main co-creators of the class climate. Diagnostic tools are described here that are used to evaluate the climate of a given class. In the practical part, I use action research to verify which methods and forms of work have led to an improvement in the climate of my class. Communication between a family and a school directed to the contemporary elementary schools

The aim of this work is to determine whether communication with incomplete/"uncooperative" family is from the perspective of teachers more difficult. What problems may be in communication with the family of the student, how can they be prevented, where necessary, to deal with. In the second part to find out what kind of impact it has on the mutual communication of the teacher and the legal representative the pupil evaluation in the form of the word guest. The task is to suggest possible strategies for mutual communication with parents of children at 1. level of primary school. In the solution a questionnaire survey and interviews with teachers and parents was used. Carried out research, I discovered that at the aimed school is almost 100% of teachers meets with problem/"non-cooperating" parents. Verbal evaluation of the results of an investigation has the mainly positive influence to the comunication. At the same time, motivates the student to better outcomes. On the basis of the findings of the results, teachers can further improve the relations between family and school, or more involved verbal evaluation, which improves communication between the two parties. The main result is to obtain the symbol "The parents welcome".
Forms of family-school cooperation in primary school

This diploma thesis deals with the forms of cooperation between parents and school in the school programme Step by Step. The theoretical part investigates family and school as an educational institutions and describes its historical evolution and on-going trends in a mutual communication between family and school. The major source of the Diploma Thesis is the Programme Step by Step. The theoretical part is focused on 2 basic standards critical for the quality of cooperation between school and family. Programme documents are compared both. The empiric part presents an action research focused on "Learning Agreements" as a one of the family- school cooperation. It deals with the "Learning Agreement" implementation in a certain school named X. It investigates its contribution for its contribution for children, parents, teachers and mutual cooperation. Relationship of Family and School at the Beginning of School Attendance

This thesis deals with the relationship between family and school at the beginning of primary school. The theoretical part defines the matters of the cooperation between family and school, it explains terms like family, school and the relationship between them. Next it deals with historical roots of the relationship, conditions for the effective cooperation between family and school and specifications in curriculum together with some educational plans and initiatives. The practical parts presents varied research which is focused on the concrete level of the cooperation between family and school at the beginning of primary school and which is marked by the sign Parents are welcome. The evaluative instrument is Survey for parents, results of it create the base for the interview with the head teacher of the school. Complementary research finds the opinions of the teachers in the matter of the cooperation between family and school. The results of the research proved that the quality of the cooperation between the family and school at this grammar school is at high level. Gypsy children in the first grade in primary scholl

Annotation: My master's thesis deals with the gypsy children in schools. The main goal of the thesis was to find out success rate of gypsy pupils in finishing elementary schools and special classes by the elementary school, and to find out how teachers work with gypsy children and what the experience of teachers in working with gypsy kids are. The next part of my research focuses on gypsy pupils in the fifth grade and how they see their future and their prospects. In the end of my research focused on educational counseling I investigated how the educational counselor and teacher can influence education of a gypsy pupil in the school. The whole thesis is divided into four chapters. First three chapters are focused on theory. The first chapter is focused on the history and culture of Gypsies, their origin, traditional family relations and customs, music, language and their relation to the major society. The second chapter describes the younger school age, its maturity, physical, emotional and language development. It also deals with the development of cognitive processes, socialization and failing in school. The dissertation deals with foreign language teaching methods at the Primary School in the Czech, English and German environment. It includes the summary of the present basic knowledge about the foreign language teaching methods generally both in the Czech, English and German environment. Subsequently there has been presented and analysed the real use of foreign language teaching methods at the Czech Primary School at present. In conclusion there has been drawn further suggestion for a possible appropriate future development of the foreign language teaching methods at the Czech Primary School based on the research too.
Textbooks evaluation

This thesis deals with an evaluation of textbooks and their operation at school. The theoretical part clarifies the purport of the term a textbook, functions and a structure of textbooks, and describes a text of textbooks, parameters of its evaluation, and the extratextual components of textbooks. It presents methods of work with a textbook and research into textbooks. The empirical part describes a research that was aimed to learn whether textbooks fit to modern parameters of textbooks. Further, it was aimed to find out the differences between using textbooks in practice and intentions of the authors, and the reasons for making these modifications.
