This bachelor thesis focuses on translated words that are used in information technology. It defines translation procedures, methods of translation and types of translation. Furthermore, this thesis explains how to prepare for translation, what must be done, and what should be avoided. The practical part focuses on the words that are frequently used by native Czech speakers.
The Technology of Subtitles in Films and other Media

The purpose of the bachelor’s thesis is to explore subtitling technology. This is analysed from a historical, present, and future perspective. The research also mentions specific ways of using subtitles for certain types of media and it also includes an analysis of the target groups for which the subtitles are intended. In addition to theoretical research of subtitling technology, an experiment is conducted to assess the accuracy of subtitling between machine-generated subtitles, professional work, and amateur work. This is achieved by comparing subtitles from the same film scenes side by side in tables. The result of the research, which is derived from the criteria mentioned in the work, shows that professional subtitles are the most reliable way.
E-learning as a means of teaching at universities

This paper aims to delve into the topic of e-learning and its use at universities. It attempts to describe its history - getting from distance learning, to learning utilizing increasingly more complex computational machines and finally the incorporation of the internet into the learning process. It also makes several predictions on what direction could e-learning head in in the foreseeable future. Aside from these topics, it also tries to describe what factors affect its effectiveness and takes a look at its potentially negative side. Then it deals with results of an e-learning related survey and their analysis.

This bachelor’s thesis deals with the Dark Web and its use. Even though the Dark Web has been part of the Internet almost since its very beginning, it attracted the public attention only a few years ago. The main purpose of this work is to raise awareness about the topic to help the Internet users to protect themselves in the cyberspace.The thesis is a theoretical study based on the literature review of the available sources related to the topic of the Dark Web. It focuses on the levels into which the web is divided and its origins.It also explains how to access the DarkWebusingtheTorbrowser,outlinestheconceptofcryptocurrency bitcoin and the marketplace Silkroad. Finally, it discussescontentthatcanbefoundonthe Dark Web, frames the concept of cybercrime and tries to predict the Dark Web’s future.

This bachelor thesis focuses on problematics of supercapacitors. The first chapter deals with principles of operation of a supercapacitor. The basic principle, used materials and main advantages and disadvantages are described. Furthermore, are described applications of a supercapacitor technology in various branches of industry. The following chapter outlines another type of energy storage also with their advantages and disadvantages, what is more, a brief table comparing main parameters is presented. The last chapter focuses on the theoretical design of supercapacitor module.

The semestral work is focused on the implementation of the method of a Search engine optimization into website. It is summarized what Google is looking for in its ideal page one of search engine result page listing and what should be done to achieve the best rank. It addresses possibilities and required skills needed for success in the world of internet. In a search environment with constantly evolving algorithms, it is important for webmasters to stay current and relevant. Autor describes numbers of goals in optimization on-page elements and off-page elements. All goals should be resolved by the correct implementation. The work deals with all of the basic website´s functions, their parameters and defines the possibility of earnings from advertisement. It emphasizes the responsibility and necessity to observe special rules of effective optimization strategy.
Cryptocurrency – a modern kind of money

Cryptocurrency has become a well-known phenomenon in the worlds of banking and electronic payments, but it is still a mystery to the general public, and not everything is explained so that anybody can trade with it. The focus of this thesis is on cryptocurrency. The study concentrates on the origins of cryptocurrencies, the principles on which their security works, why their transactions are untraceable, and how these transfers are carried out. Subsequently, the thesis deals with where the owner can store his cryptocurrencies, what types of wallets exist, what cryptocurrency mining deals with and what can be obtained through it. Individual cryptocurrencies are discussed in the second chapter of this thesis, including their history, and which wallets are appropriate for each coin. Furthermore, fiat currencies are discussed, including their history and the economic functions they perform. Lastly, these economic functions are applied to cryptocurrency. The purpose of this thesis is to gain a greater understanding of cryptocurrencies, including what they are, how they work, and how to deal with them as well as how they differ from fiat currency.
The influence of computer games on English language knowledge

Despite the fact that computer games continue to gain in popularity, attitude of majority towards computer games is still rather negative. The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is to demonstrate that playing computer games can be beneficial while learning a second language. This bachelor’s thesis consists of three chapters in which is dealt with the current state of the English language, acquisition and learning of a second language, and influence of computer games on the English language knowledge. The empirical part of this bachelor’s thesis is devoted to the analysis of a survey in the form of a questionnaire.
Renewable energy sources: are they always contributive to the environment?

Semestral work deals with renewable energy sources and their use. It seeks to bring to the reader the basic principles of the operation of both renewable and non-renewable resources and the production of electricity related thereto. At the same time, it seeks to highlight the many issues and problems with renewable resources that we are currently experiencing as electricity demand continues to rise and natural non-renewable resources such as oil and coal slowly but surely disappear. It addresses basic problems with renewable resources and highlights the pros and cons of their use in the future.
