Measuring electrical brain activity during stimulation of trigger zones from concept of Vojta principle
Martínek, Milan ; Pánek, David (advisor) ; Pavlů, Dagmar (referee)
Title: Measuring electrical brain activity during stimulation of trigger zones from concept of Vojta principle Objectives: The aim of this study is to clarify whether there is a change in the electrical brain activity evaluated by the sLORETA program during the stimulation of trigger zones according to the Vojta concept. The source activity during stimulation of trigger zones was scanned from the scalp EEG and compared with the sLORETA program with the source activity measured at rest, before and after the stimulation of the trigger zones. Methods: The research was conducted on 11 healthy adult subjects. The entire research group is consisted of women aged in range 19-32. The data was obtained from the scalp EEG before, during and after stimulation of trigger zones according to Vojta concept. For each proband the measurement of resting EEG with both open and closed eyes (2 x 10 minutes) was first performed, then the measurements were taken during the stimulation of trigger zones with open and closed eyes (2 x 15 minutes). Finally, a resting EEG was measured, alternating open and closed eyes after five minutes (4 x 5 minutes). There was a pause of at least 15 minutes between each stimulation of trigger zones. The order of open and closed eyes during resting EEG and during stimulation of trigger...
Education for parents of extremely premature infants in the use of stimulation techniques for the support of psychomotor development
Mirovská, Dagmar ; Hájková, Vanda (advisor) ; Šumníková, Pavlína (referee)
Annotation: The thesis is focused on educating parents of children with perinatal risks. The work focuses on justifying the need of special educator within the multidisciplinary team of therapists and his role in the work with children with perinatal stress. Based on the questionnaire results it shows how parents are informed about the therapy options, leisure activities and other source of information. The work highlights how essential is to coordinate all offers of variety organizations and the need for long-term and systematic educational work. In the theoretical part of the thesis is the child examination and the importance of early detection of children with threats followed by clearly elaborated complex of the child psychomotor development. Further characteristics describe children with perinatal risks to define their basic diagnosis and the consequences of individual systems damages and the relevance of further development. The work shows the possibility of intervention using the latest trends in work with children at risk and the importance of early initiation and the need to combine the therapies.
Influence of Vojta therapy on the development of a child with physical handicap
Průšová, Anna ; Sotáková, Hana (advisor) ; Špačková, Klára (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the influence of physiotherapy on the development of a child with a physical disability. It focuses on Vojta's method, its origin and characteristics, description of exercises and assumptions that lead to a successful course of therapy. Moreover a chapter on the motor development of a child up to one year will be added. We also introduce Prof. MUDr. Václav Vojta himself, his study and work. The aim of the work is to find out what effect physiotherapy has on a child not only on physical but also mental development. What is the family's approach to rehabilitation routine. All this will be answered through qualitative research. In our research we use questionnaire and interview method. The work is therefore focused on two perspectives, one of which is perspective of families with a child undergoing Vojta's method and the other is perspective of rehabilitation specialist who is daily in direct confrontation with the demanding exercises and difficulties that are part of Vojta's method. Vojta's therapy and its effectiveness in treatment of children from birth to adolescence from the perspective of a special educator
Štěpánová, Anna ; Zulić, Marija (advisor) ; Volemanová, Marja Annemiek (referee)
The bachelor's thesis deals with Vojta's method, the reflex locomotion method, and its effectiveness in treatment children from birth to adolescence from the perspective of a special educator. Specifically it's not specified for a particular disability but observes the application of the reflex locomotion method for all kinds of disabilities. The theoretical part describes the introduction to Vojta's method - its history, definition, indication, course of therapy, therapeutic system, developmental ontogenesis. The practical part focuses exclusively on the effectiveness and success of reflex locomotion treatment in already announced age group of children. The main goal of qualitative research which is carried out by the method of questioning is to find out whether in the end the application of Vojta's method was effective and successful or not. The total number of respondent is 15 and they are both those who went through the method themselves and people who trained with individuals. KEYWORDS Vojta's therapy, the reflex locomotion method, reflexology, child evolution, disability
Possibilities of monitoring and evaluation of accompanying non-locomotor manifestacions during reflex locomotion according to Vojta
Procházková, Marie ; Nováková, Tereza (advisor) ; Stupková, Michaela (referee)
Title: Possibilities of monitoring and evaluation of accompanying non-locomotor manifestacions during reflex locomotion according to Vojta Objectives: The aim of study is to determine suitable conditions for measuring and evaluating non-locomotor manifestations. Furthermore, to clarify whether there are changes in the accompanying non-locomotor manifestations during the stimulation of trigger zones from the concept of Vojta's principle. Accompanying non-locomotor manifestations are mainly manifestations of the autonomic nervous system. Measurement of respiratory rate, heart rate and swallowing rate was chosen to evaluate these parameters. Methods: The research was conducted on 7 adult subject for measuring respiratory and heart rate and 12 adult subject for measuring swallowing frequency. These were healthy women aged 18-30. Data were obtained from a CamNtech Actiheard compact ECG sensor and from a video recording. Each proband was first measured for a resting ECG and then measured during activaton of the thoracic trigger zone from the Vojta concept, twice in a row for fifteen minutes. One measurement was performed with the eyes open, the other with the eyes closed, the order was randomized. The obtained data were processed into a video recording and evaluated for each proband separately. It was...
Evaluation of the short-term effect of physiotherapeutic techniques on spasticity in patients with spinal cord injury
Špačková, Anežka ; Hlinková, Zuzana (advisor) ; Kříž, Jiří (referee)
The subject of this thesis is spasticity in individuals with spinal lesions. The aim is to evaluate and compare a short-term effect of selected physio-therapeutic methods on spasticity of lower limbs in spinal patients. Two methods of comparison were chosen - passive stretching and the Vojta's reflex therapy. The work consists of two parts. The theoretical part describes the problems of spinal lesions, central motoneuron syndrome and spasticity, including its pathophysiology and investigation and therapeutic approaches. The practical part contains an attempt to verify and subsequently compare the immediate antispastic effect of the chosen methods, which is an important prerequisite for the following active exercises as an inseparable part of a physiotherapeutic exercise unit. Clinical evaluation scales are used to evaluate spasticity, namely Modified Ashworth Scale (MAS) and Muscle Excitability Scale (MES). The results are then compared with other studies and literature. Kotrbatá, Eliška ; Hájková, Vanda (advisor) ; Marádová, Eva (referee)
Diploma Thesis - Stimulation of person with physical and multiple disabilities through Vojta's therapeutic concept - is about aplication of Vojta's reflex locomotion method at newborns and infants. The theoretical assessment is describing the development, basic principles and the use of this method. Vojta's special diagnosing will be also addressed. The next major chapter will be the description of muscular dystrophy and consisting of basic division, description of diagnosing principals and treatment. One chapter is dedicated to Girdle Muscular Dystrophy and its manifestation and difficulties with the diagnosis. Empirical data is being collected through a questionnaire which was given to parents with newborns and infants and will provide a complex vision analysis on Vojta's method and its application to newborn and infants born with physical and multiple disabilities.
