Design and implementation of Agile testing methodology
Kemr, Jakub ; Buchalcevová, Alena (advisor) ; Doležel, Michal (referee)
The thesis focuses on the area of testing within Agile software development. The goal of the thesis is to design and implement a methodology for Agile testing in a specific project using the Eclipse Process Framework Composer tool based on an analysis of the testing process and related procedures in a specific, Agile development team. The thesis is divided into three parts. Theoretical part deals with the principal definitions and introduction to the topic and differences between Waterfall and Agile project management. The conclusion of the theoretical part is focused on the actual status of Agile development and growing importance of testing in Agile teams. The second part of the thesis is devoted on the characteristics of methodologies that the thesis is based on. These methodologies are compared to the requirements of extended methodology for Agile testing. The next part is an analysis of the processes and procedures in the Agile development team based on division of the development process into individual parts. Based on the analysis, and another three surveys there are identified problems in the software testing area. The third part is devoted to designing extension of methodology for Agile testing, its characteristics and implementation using the EPFC tool. Based on the extended and implemented methodology MMSP-AV, the main contribution of the thesis is the elimination of the identified problems and the overall improvement of the testing process. The default methodology MMSP is extended by Agile testing, User Experience testing and wide variety of key elements of the Agile software development. Final part summarizes all the lessons learned and opportunities for further expansion of the thesis and published methodology.
Analysis of selected e-shop from the point of view of User Experience and User Interface
Trachtová, Monika ; Přibil, Jiří (advisor) ; Novák, Michal (referee)
The main goal of this master thesis is to choose a more user-friendly e-shop option. This finding is achieved through several testing methods. As this is a user experience and user interface topic, the concepts of this topic are more closely approximated for better understanding of subsequent testing. Another approach is the testing methods used to ensure the goal of the thesis. The key part of the thesis is a practical one, which deals with the above-mentioned testing of two variants of e-shops. E-shops are tested using five-second test methods, eye-tracking measurements that become the most important test of this thesis, oral questionnaire and complementary emotional cards. Using eye-tracking measurements, visual maps are obtained that plot the visual field of each respondent. All results are processed, analyzed and subsequently interpreted to the final result.
Redesign of user interface of a web application based on UX design principles
Fröhlichová, Karin ; Šedivá, Zuzana (advisor) ; Pour, Jan (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the redesign of the web application user interface based on the principles of UX design. The theoretical part is focused on defining the concept of user experience (UX), as well as the sub-disciplines involved in the creation of user interface (UI), which together creates the resulting user experience. The aim of the theoretical part is to describe the individual steps of the selected procedure of the UX design process based on the principles of user-centered design. The main aim of the practical part is to design a web application that corresponds with the principles of UX design, requirements and goals of users and business. Partial goals are to perform the analysis and research of the target group and the company, and further testing to verify that the designs are in accordance with usability and accessibility principles and also to verify the suitability of the UX design process chosen.
User Interface of Learning Management Systems Design and Validation of Functional Criteria as Basis for a Partial Evaluation
Ovesleová, Hana ; Štogrová Jedličková, Petra (advisor) ; Slussareff, Michaela (referee) ; Šušol, Jaroslav (referee)
Main topic of this thesis is evaluation of user interfaces of learning management systems (LMS). It is the users and their interaction with the system who are the focus of user interface design within the field of Human Computer Interaction (HCI), and that is why user experience was taken into account for interface evaluation. The aim of the thesis was proposition of function criteria field that reflect users' requirements on the system and that can therefore serve as a basis for partial LMS evaluation. Within the scope of HCI interdisciplinarity, we focused on technical-psychological view (computer - human), complemented by the field that reflects the very purpose of LMS - pedagogical process. We believe that combination of general function criteria, which can be applied to any system, and learning content criteria is crucial for LMS evaluation, together with criteria concerning distribution forms and work methods. Based on defined areas, LMS Unifor courses from 2012- 2014 period of time and LMS Moodle courses from 2015-2017 period of time were evaluated using qualitative and quantitative research methods. The output of the research is a set of function criteria, which we regard to be elementary and suggest to be taken into account when considering a LMS.
Implementing Machine Translation in an SME
Hermanová, Barbora ; Svoboda, Tomáš (advisor) ; Špirk, Jaroslav (referee)
The thesis deals with the topic of implementation of machine translation (MT) in an SME with an emphasis on legal translation. The theoretical part brings together the existing research relevant for this topic, focusing in particular on the specifics of MT between Czech and English, the task of post-editing (PEMT), including the skills and competences required from post-editors, recommendations for, and experience with, MT implementation, MT evaluation, PEMT productivity and translator attitudes towards MT. In its empirical part, the thesis draws on a case study of MT implementation in a Czech language service provider (LSP), with a focus on selecting a suitable MT tool and incorporating it in the workflow. Furthermore, an experiment is performed with professional translators, aimed at measuring productivity of translation and post-editing in terms of the time spent in the respective tasks and analysing and comparing selected aspects of the output produced by the translators and post-editors participating in the experiment. The analytical model employed is an error-based human evaluation model. Lastly, a questionnaire is used to ascertain the experience of translators/post-editors with MT and their attitudes towards this technology. The thesis ultimately provides a set of findings that can be used...
The role of animation in user interface of mobile devices
Čanda, František ; Šisler, Vít (advisor) ; Minařík, Karel (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the use of animations in the user interface (UI) of mobile devices. The thesis is divided into five parts. The first part presents the theoretical basics of designing user interfaces for mobile devices, the second part is dedicated to the definition of animation, its usage, functions and the perception of animation in user interface. The third part summarizes existing research dedicated to the related field and research methods used in this thesis. The fourth part is focused on the research which was conducted as comparative study based on prototype user testing examining the different types of animation and their impact on the users. The last, fifth section, presents main research findings and answers the research questions. The results reflect the impact of animation on the UI and shows what are the advantages and limits of the use of animation.
