Traditional and nontraditional farm animals and their importance to human life
Procházka, Jiří ; Hanel, Lubomír (advisor) ; Řezníček, Jan (referee)
The Abstract The main purpose of my thesis is to make summary of conventional and unconventional livestock and their importace to man. My thesis brings in survey of the most significant kinds of breeds and their economic exploitation. A separate section is devoted to Czech breeding of essential kinds of livestock in reference to their conditions and animal production capacity. Out of unconventional groups of livestock, the attention is devoted to birds from out superorder runners. The importace of meat in man's nutrition is widely discussed. As a part of thesis, a public inquiry was compiled and analysed. It was interpreted on samples of students and workers of educational institutions. The inquiry discovers the influence of respondents'demografic field and other circumstances upon meat consummation. As a suplement to the biology education at primary and secondary schools, a CD- ROM is made containing questions to systematic zoology of birds from among superorder runners. Key words: domestication, livestock, runners, meat, inquiry
Child and playground
Buzická, Lada ; Šmíd, Jan (advisor) ; Grendelová, Erika (referee)
Bachelor work deals with a playground and its different roles. The work describes the significance of the playground and concetrates on the forming of the psychomotory aspect of a child personality by concrete game elements. It defines conception of "leisure time" and its signification. The work also deals with the equipment of public playground and its requirements for safety. Analyzes selected playgrounds in Prague 9 - Prosek and makes an inquiry if newly reconstructed playgrounds match the requirements of children and their parents.
Chemistry experiments' potential to develop vocational students' scientific literacy: An analysis of selected materials
Horníková, Marcela ; Rusek, Martin (advisor) ; Vojíř, Karel (referee)
This thesis is focused on analysing chemical experiments and their potential to help increase science literacy among vocational school students. Currently, greater emphasis is placed on the development of scientific and critical thinking at higher cognitive levels and science literacy. These skills and abilities can be achieved through tuition based on experimental scientific activities. For this reason, the main goal of this thesis was to review the quantity and method of processing of individual experiments in terms of quality and compliance with the given requirements. Experiments in the field of organic chemistry were taken from available vocational school literature and were analysed and evaluated. These sources were the following textbooks: Chemie pro střední školy, Chemie pro studijní obory SOŠ a SOU nechemického zaměření and the web page Studium chemie and the video database of chemistry experiments. Each experiment was evaluated whether it met the analysed criteria of transparency, connection with practical life, problem solving and material, technical, time and economic simplicity. Furthermore, the experiments were evaluated in terms of usability during various stages of tuition with regard to the development of students through different levels of inquiry. The last and main evaluation...
Midwifery of Period Called Pobelohorska Infanticide
Surá, Alexandra ; Říhová, Milada (advisor) ; Čechura, Jaroslav (referee) ; Pařízek, Antonín (referee)
I initially explored historic figures of European accoucheur of the 17. and 18. century. Beyond this I focused on a period called "Pobělohorská" in Czech countries. I summarized the health conditions of the population during this period, and described medical professions, midwifery and emergency Christening ceremonies. One chapter discusses partnerships and considers women who hid their pregnancy to avoid the prospect of caring for their children in the future. For this reason I present questions relating to how women hid their pregnancy during the Early Modern period. In the next chapter I discuss aspects of the process of giving birth, the locations where women gave birth and the moments thereafter. I present the circumstances of the death of the baby and the possible causes of death. The process of investigation of the scene, an assessment of the body and the search for the mother of the baby (as a potential murderer) are all considered. The assessment of the body was in the hands of the regional physiciusurgeon and a midwife. In my work I describe how the body was assessed, how they judged the maturity of the newborn baby and if the baby was born dead or alive. Further chapters explain the treatment of the umbilical cord, the inquisition of the witnesses and the suspect, and the next steps of...
Different levels of inquiry in physics experiments
Fürstová, Tereza ; Kácovský, Petr (advisor) ; Koudelková, Věra (referee)
The thesis is focused on four levels of the Inquiry-Based Science Education (IBSE). The first chapter describes IBSE in detail and also highlights the studies focused on the efficiency of IBSE. Pendulum and hydrostatic pressure experiments worksheets were created on the four levels of IBSE. A questionnaire reflecting some aspects of students' personalities were created and students were split into groups according to their answers. Another questionnaire about experiments and understanding of the physical phenomena was created. The central theme of this thesis focuses on the students' activities while they were working on the created worksheets. First year students from high school experimented following the created worksheets and they were recorded on the video during their work. We used codes to describe and differentiate the activities in the videos and we studied their distribution afterwards. From the recordings we then obtained information about the students' activities during experimentation at different levels of IBSE.
