Neurogenic pulmonary edema in rats with spinal cord injury
Šedý, Jiří ; Syková, Eva (advisor) ; Herget, Jan (referee) ; Rokyta, Richard (referee)
N urogenic puhnonary edema (NPE) is an acu te life-threatening complication of the c ntral nervous system (CNS) injury. Anesthetics can either promote or inhibit the NPE development. We examined the role of different concentrations of isoflurane anesthesia (1.5 - 3%) on the developmen t of NPE in rats with balloon compressed spinal cord. The development of NPE was examined in vivo and on histological sections of lung tissue. Neurological recovery in animals anesthetized with 1.5% or 3% isoflurane was monitored using BBB and pian tar tests for 7 weeks post-injury. The grade of the spinal gray and white matter sparing was evaluated using morphornetry. The r le of gradually developed spinal cord lesíon and spínal cord transection in the developmen t of NPE were evaluated also. NPE developed in all animals anesthetized with 1.5-2% isofluran . Almost 42% of animals died due to massive pulmonary bleeding and suffocation; X-ray imaging, pulmonary index and histological sections showed massive NPE. More than 71 % of animals anesthetized with 2.5-3% i oflu rane had no signs of NPE. Blood pressure rose more rapidly in animals from 1.5% group than in 3% group; this hypertensive reaction was caused by the sympathetic hyperactivi ty. Animals from 3% group recovered their motor and sensory func tions more rapidly than...

Further, it was aimed to find out the differences between using textbooks in practice and intentions of the authors, and the reasons for making these modifications.

Application of HILIC method for the determination of stability of ascorbic acid
Pavlovičová, Soňa ; Nováková, Lucie (advisor) ; Šatínský, Dalibor (referee)
Author: Soňa Pavlovičová Title: The application of HILIC method in the stability evaluation of ascorbic acid Language: czech Keywords: ascorbic acid, HILIC, stability, stabilizating agents Ascorbic acid, vitamin C, is a very polar compound, and is therefore difficult to be analysed by RP-HPLC. For these reason HILIC method (Hydrophilic Interaction Liquid Chromatography) was developed and the optimal conditions for the analysis were determined. The analysis occured on the ZIC-HILIC column (150 x 2.1, 3.5 μm), the mobile phase consisted from acetonitrile and 50 mM ammonium acetate buffer pH 6.8. The method used UV detection at 268 nm. Under these conditions the analysis take approximately 4 minutes. Chlorogenic acid was used for quatification. Various stability factors as temperature, concentration, the presence of oxygen and pH of the solution were studied. This work also solved the troubles with stabilizating agents and their influence on stability of ascorbic acid. Optimal conditions were obtained, when the temperature was decreased to 4řC and 10 mM oxalic acid was used for stabilization. Good results were also obtained with 5 % o-phosphoric acid as stabilizating agent. The method was validated and it met pharmacopea requirements.

Image analysis of microparticles prepared by spray drying method
Sedláček, Petr ; Dittrich, Milan (advisor) ; Šnejdrová, Eva (referee)
ABSTRACT-EN In the thesis was demonstrated manitol as the proper model substance for optimization procedure of spray drying in Büchi Mini Spray Dryer B-290. Concentration of model polyol was in the range from 5 % to 15 %, the proper temperature in inlet part of device was 110 řC- 120 řC. The powder with low residual moisture was obtained, diameter of particles was around 5 micrometers. Effective were small concentrations of polydextrose and lecitine as additives in manitol.

Women in Local Politics: The Reflection of Master Suppression Techniques
Adamusová, Marcela ; Havelková, Hana (advisor) ; Uhde, Zuzana (referee)
Women in Local Politics: The Reflection of Master Suppression Techniques The causes of the low political participation of women in the Czech local politics have to be viewed as a complex and interdisciplinary problem. Economic Analysis of Prostitution Market
Dědková, Lucie ; Písař, Pavel (advisor) ; Stočková, Olga (referee)
The bachelor essay concentrates on the economic aspect of prostitution. At the beginning the essay briefly deals with history of one of the oldest professions in the world and its position in society. The essay thinks of the notion of prostitution from the point of view of economics as a possible free choice of behaviour, free decision making of an individual and using his own body as he thinks that it is acceptable. Then the essay tries to study how the market for prostitution, where the adults make a business with sex, operates and which factors can influence particular subjects on this market -- supply and demand for free sex for money. Marginally the essay is interested in description of several segments of prostitution market (private, streetwalking, night clubs, escort) and the role of the third part of business -- mediators. The main point of view concentrates on alternative policy of the government (prohibition, legalization) and analyzing not only the economic and social impact of these policies on the prostitution market but also the other effects which are jointed with prostitution - trade with human beings, violation, spreading of sexually transmitted diseases.

Prologue
Procházka, Jiří ; DAŇHEL, Jan (advisor) ; Brothánek, Adam (referee)
In film, the term “prologue” nowadays denotes almost everything that appears before the opening credits. The meaning of this word is not fixed. This thesis does not define the “prologue” phenomenon and does not wish to describe it in the historical context of art spheres. It deals with the opening scenes at the beginning of a film before the onset of the actual composition of the main story and addresses their functions in the entire dramaturgic structure of the work. To facilitate the apprehension and description of “prologue”, the thesis attempts to generalise the term and classify it into several groups according to defined criteria. It does not set itself the objective of forming a definition but of analysing the dramaturgic structure of a conventionally understood term “prologue” and initiating a discussion on all fronts of the film-making profession about this tool that can do more than just touching up the first few minutes of a film.
