The theatre of Ramón María del Valle-Inclán
Gojda, Petr ; Fousek, Michal (advisor) ; Sánchez Fernández, Juan Antonio (referee)
This work, The theatre of Ramón del Valle-Inclán, studies the dramatic literature of an author who creates mostly in the first quarter of the twentieth century, i.e. in the period of the first reform of the theatre. During the first chapters we analyse our concept of drama as a literary piece, see it's characteristics and it's evolution in the modern creation. We end up saying that a modern dramatist leaves behind the clasicist model of his art, where the author's opinions and points of view step aside before those of his lively characters. Nevertheless he conserves and maybe even emphasizes the plurality of perspectives that the dramatic genre offers to him. And so even in Valle-Inclán where the plurality inside his dramas unites to the plurality of different dramatic genres in the totality of his dramatic art. The recreation of the traditional genres from farce to tragedy serves well to express the artistic points of view about the contemporary Spanish situation.

Šimůnková, Renata ; Hajičová, Eva (advisor) ; Dušková, Libuše (referee) ; Huschová, Petra (referee)

The aim of the thesi s is first to describe the structure of the semantic field in each individuallanguage and then compare the acquired data, determine the similarities and differences and discuss the potential causes of the differences and their consequences in connection with the accurate expression of necessity in both languages. The dissertation consists of three main parts: theoretical, empirical and the conclusion. The theoretical part is outlined as a broad general introduction into the problems of modality and then specifically of necessity. Apart form the delimitation and interpretation of the general concept of modality it focuses on the means of expression of necessity used in English and Czech and their comparison. In the empirical part the individua! means of expression found in the fiction are first discussed and compared within each individuallanguage (e.g. the distinctions between must and have to, or mustn 't and can 't are discussed in detail) and then between the two languages. Emblematic reductions of a writer as a literary icon or a "star"
Libichová, Tereza ; Heczková, Libuše (referee) ; Bílek, Petr (advisor)
Since the dawn of the western literary tradition the meaning and connotations of the terms and concepts of "author" and "authorship" have been changed and discussed many times. Nevertheless, the word "author" still marks someone who is responsible for the creation of a text (or, in a wider meaning, it denotes a creator of any work of art in general), even though nowadays the author is not considered in the romantic meaning of the word, with its connotations focused on biography and life of a historical individual. In current literary theory, the "author" is seen more as three different entities: a psycho-corporeal existence of the author (the "biographical" author), a subject within the text, and eventually an author-character in his own text, whose existence has become the topic of it. Such an allocation of the auctorial subject makes it possible to explore different points of intersection. However, the irrelevance of interpretation from the biographical point of view is emphasized. Therefore, one more auctorial subject is defined: a point of intersection of the "unidentifiable subject behind the text" and the "auctorial subject within the text". Such a perception of the term offers the possibility to analyze certain literary texts with an emphasis on the so-called "emblematic reductions".
