The antimissile system base in the Czech Republic in the public
Adámek, Stanislav ; Tuček, Milan (advisor) ; Kuchař, Pavel (referee)
The aim of thesis "The antimissile base in the Czech Republic" is to introduce the decision making process concerning a radar base, which would be located in Brdy, Czech Republic. Interpretation of this process was based on media monitoring and collected data from public opinion surveys through theoretical concept of risk society by Ulrich Beck. The whole discussion about the military base is emotional and therefore confusing. The base should serve as a protection from the risk of a rocket aggression, nevertheless, on the other hand it is viewed as a source for another threats eg. public are defining base like possible target from unknown potential enemy i.a. like source of harmful X-rate too etc. Because this manufactured risks are product o f human activity, there is a huge potential to assess the level of risk that is being produced, or that is about to be produced. As it is the destiny of the Risk society to multiply threats. Under these circumstances the merit of the discussion has blured definitely. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

There are described factors influencing criminality rate such as family, school, society, or media Literature, police statistics and school statistics show us basic information concerning criminality not only in the Czech Republic but in the region of Uherské Hradiště as well. It was found out that in the Czech Republic child criminality rate has diminishing tendency, but in the region of Uherské Hradiště this situation is not observable (it has nothing to do with number of thefts). By means of the questionnaire it was found out that thefts do not appear frequently at primary schools. Only sometimes schools deal with small offences in the form of not expensive things. These small offences do not occur nowadays more often than in the past and also it is not possible to say whether they are more frequent at town schools or schools in villages. Thefts concerning expensive products are minimal at primary schools. However, thefts committed by teenagers and adolescents have an increasing rate, in accordance with police in Uherské Hradiště. This thesis is aimed at a better orientation in the child, teenager, and adolescent criminality development in the Czech Republic and in the region of Uherské Hradiště in order to avoid small thefts or other offences among children.

The concept of "upaja" in early medieval Japan. Utilisation of choosing the skillful means (upaya) during the dramatic changes of the so-called new Kamakura buddhist schools
Vrba, Petr ; Heřman, Robin (referee) ; Švarcová, Zdeňka (advisor)
There is a general opinion that during the Kamakura period (1185-1333) the scene of Japanese Buddhism has radically changed. But this change was possible only due to synchronisation of several factors that enabled the era or the society to be fit for that change. It's a fact that it was during these 150 years that the charismatic personages (Hnen, Shinran, Dgen, Nichiren) of founders of the most numerous Japanese Buddhist streams appeared. Nevertheless, various scholars have plausibly demonstrated that a striking majority of the so-called new elements had appeared many decades, even centuries before the Kamakura period. Similarly the delimitating of the so-called new movements against the traditional schools (as well as their proclaimed decline) proves dubious gaps. An important role in their relation to other schools was played by the usage of the traditional Buddhist concept of choosing the skilful means (sa. upya, jap. hben). Another remarkable common feature is that all these founders had claimed that salvation could be achieved by doing "only" one technique (one chosen by them). But this has never happened in Japan before or after the Kamakura period. In this paper I am primarily trying to answer one cardinal question: "What factors allowed for this exceptional situation?" I will proceed from the...

Democratization in Guatemala 1985-1999
Beňová, Monika ; Novák, Miroslav (advisor) ; Mlejnek, Josef (referee)
Guatemala, the most populous and potencially the richest country in Central America happened from geopolitical reasons to be the center stage for the cold war battles in the region. After a brief ten years of democracy after the World War II, long era of military regimes followed. From the 1960, leftist guerrila movement operated in the country with the purpose of throwing over the incumbent governments. Given the length of the contest, officially called the internal armed confrontation, that had spread accross decades, both military governments and insurgents were forced to adapt to changing international situation. At the beginning of the 1980s, the Army decided the war cannot be won unless the major cause of the gerilla fight is not eliminated. This cause being one of the most extremely unequal societies in the hemisphere, the reformist part of the brass challenged guatemalan traditional landed oligarchy as to make them give up a small fraction of their hefty income to finance development in the rest of the society. The oligarchy refused, causing this part of the Army to act on their own. Headed during the first phase by Gen. Rios Montt, young officers got rid of the existing old type of oligarchy-friendly cliqué and seized the power and government. With the prelude of very bloody contrainsurgent...

G. Lipovetsky: The Painless Ethics
Pavelcová, Tereza ; Jirsa, Jakub (advisor) ; Čapek, Jakub (referee)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to follow and to critically interpret the proposition about the development of ethics and morality in the work of Gilles Lipovetsky both on specific examples from the history of ethics and its contemporary reflections. The thesis should clarify in what cases is his philosophical and sociological diagnosis, analysis and prediction justified and where it is on the contrary problematic and why. Lipovetsky's proposition in his book The Twilight of Duty is that contemporary moral "boom" is actually a shock and not only a comeback or a revitalization of the traditional morality. It would be no exaggeration to say that contemporary morality is definitely leaving the traditional one behind. The ambition of the thesis is also to give a formulation of the character and typical manifestation of Lipovetsky's "postmoral ethics of the third type" with neither religious nor lay basis in form of duty. The thesis is aware of the tension between the ethical ardor and decadence, the incitements to individualism and the demands of society, in short the tension between responsible and irresponsible ethics. The aim is also to try to justify the applied ethics of responsibility formulated by Lipovetsky, which is to be set in the period of "the twilight of duty", when we no longer have a...

Aesthetic and Body Movement Education in the Waldorf Pedagogy.
Šimková, Marie ; Mazáčová, Nataša (advisor) ; Váňová, Miroslava (referee)
Over the last few decades there has been a detectable increase in public awareness of the complexity of human being. While in the former years cognitive faculty (measured by IQ tests) was the main matter of psychological interest, nowadays experts are focusing more on the other components of mental activity: emotional, social and creative intelligence. It is beyond dispute that school should foster the development of all these qualities; however, a question rises over the educational procedures and methods which should be employed to reach this high idea. One of the possible ways is represented by waldorf pedagogy whose main aim is to nourish and develop children's minds, hearts and souls and guide them on their way towards becoming valuable members of human society.
