The thesis also seeks to explain why the standing agreements had to be replaced and what problems arose from their respective negotiations. Last but not least, the thesis describes the present state of trade relations between the EU and the ACP States and presents the current free trade agreements and the specifics.

Effect of intravenously applicated lactoferine on early faze; of myocardial ischemia II. Biochemical examinations
Písaříková, Veronika ; Semecký, Vladimír (advisor) ; Mladěnka, Přemysl (referee)
Lactoferrin (Lf) is an 80-kDa iron-binding glykoprotein. Lf is present physiologically in exocrine secretions, eg. tears, saliva, milk, sinovial fluid, seminal fluid and in the secondary granules of neutophils. The precise function of Lf in organism is considered to be very complex and it is still a hot subject of scientific disputation. Lf was documented to act as antimicrobial, antiinflamatory and antitumoral agent. Another of its properties is ability to inhibit hydroxyl radical formation via Fenton reaction. Afinity of Lf to iron is about 260times higher than that of transferrin. Isoproterenol (ISO) has been used as a model compound to induce infarct-like lesions in the rat and various other animal species. Administration of necrotic dose of ISO caused ischaemia followed by damage of the myocardium. Ischaemia alters iron homeostasis and redox-active free iron, which catalyses ROS-generation. The only possibility for myocardial tissue recovery in acute moycardial infarction represents the reperfusion of ischemic myocardium. But the whole process is associated with damage of myocardium due to burst of hydroxyl radical catalyzed by free iron (Fenton reaction). In our experiment we studied the effects of Lf in a catecholamine model of myocardial injury. We had four experimental groups divided according to...

Šindelová, Věra ; Dolista, Josef (referee) ; Kučera, Zdeněk (advisor)
If we say "feminist theology", there raise unambiguously depreciating or ridiculous feelings in some people and enthusiasm for something new what represents an alternative for traditional conceptions in others. However, the feminist theology is not anything what you could grasp in a determined form. It is more like a term covering a wide range of ways, opinions, and approaches to theology which have in common only the fact that some of them take into account a "woman" theme.

However and therefore - their occurrence and use in official documents of the EU
Dóža, Boris ; Šaldová, Pavlína (advisor) ; Malá, Markéta (referee)
This thesis aims at discussing two connectives however and therefore. It focuses on their occurrence use in legal and official materials. The main reason why this topic was chosen is the frequent occurrence of these connectives in the language of law and political diplomacy and the fact that the use of these connectives does not always facilitate the reception of the texts and may be confusing at times. The materials used for the following analysis are taken from documents that the Council of the European Union has made available on its websites. These materials include treaties, agreements, legislation in force, preparatory acts, or case law. Treaties and agreement may include annexes and protocols, legislation in force may include acts of law as well as their amendments and addenda, and case law may include judgements, opinions, official speeches, statements, and so on. All these materials have to do with law, business, economy, and all represent a formal or very formal style. The aim of this thesis is to survey the occurrence and use of however and therefore in the particular register. In order to do so, the items under discussion are examined in respect of their formal characteristics and classifications, structure and syntactic description, position in the clause, punctuation, semantics; and functions....

Uptake and Distribution of Chlorphenols in Barley
Jíšová, Tereza ; Forczek, Sándor ; Tesařová, E.
Chlorinated phenols represent one of the most common groups of toxic industrial compounds.\nThey are resistant to biodegradation in the environment and persist for a long time. Food crops\nsuch as spring barley, are susceptible to contamination by various pesticides and organic waste,\nand these substances can then get into the plants. Uptake and distribution of 2-chlorophenol were\ninvestigated in axenic spring barley. After absorption of 14C-labelled 2-chlorophenol, the plants\nwere harvested and extracts were analyzed for 2-CP derived radioactivity. The uptake of 2-CP to\nroots and transport to leaves were confirmed. Radioactive balance was calculated for individual\nplants.
