Methods of elastic bandage application in nursing practice
KAŇKOVÁ, Jana
The bachelor thesis deals with methods of elastic bandage application in nursing practice. The theoretical part deals with the anatomy or venous and lymphatic system. It also focuses on examinations of venous and lymphatic system in which elastic bandage application is an integral part of the procedure. The thesis refers to roles of a nurse in elastic bandage application and to roles of bandage in nursing practice. Three objectives were set for the thesis. The first objective was to identify methods used by nurses in elastic bandage application. The second objective was to find out what information about elastic bandage application is available to the nurses. The third objective was to propose input documents for development of a manual for practical application of elastic bandage. All the objectives set for the thesis have been met. The thesis establishes four hypotheses. The hypothesis No. 1 ``Nurses prefer ear-shaped turns in application of elastic bandage`` has been confirmed. The hypothesis No. 2 ``Nurses are able to explain the difference between short-stretch and long-stretch bandages`` has not been confirmed. The hypothesis No. 3 ``Nurses understand the potential complications from incorrect application of elastic bandage`` has been confirmed. The survey used a questionnaire containing 26 questions. The questionnaire contained closed, half-closed and open questions. The data were collected in March 2009 in the hospital in České Budějovice. 110 questionnaires were distributed in total and 98 questionnaires were returned. 5 questionnaires were eliminated due to incompleteness. The total number of evaluated questionnaires was 93, which means the success rate 89.1 %. To meet one of the objectives of this thesis a manual has been developed for application of elastic bandage, which should improve the quality of knowledge among the nurses. The manual should also help the nurses to improve their skills in elastic bandage application.

A comparison of copyright protection of authors and performing artists
Martinka, Marek ; Křesťanová, Veronika (advisor) ; Holcová, Irena (referee)
A comparison of copyright protection of authors and performing artists The aim of this thesis is to compare the legal regulation of the authors' rights in their works and the performing artists' rights in their performances as it arises from the Czech Copyright Act. I have chosen this topic because it requires profound study of the Copyright Act, good understanding of most of its provisions and their analysis. In my opinion, this kind of research could be very useful in my upcoming profession. Besides it seems to be quiet an actual theme, as for example the term of protection of these rights is largely discussed of late. The structure of this paper is following. The first three chapters are introducing the main characteristics of the authors' and performing artists' rights, their development and the main sources. Other chapters are dealing with the comparison of the protection itself. I examine the aspects I consider to be crucial. It is the subject of the rights, the object, moral and economic rights, the criterions of the protection, the contractual and non-contractual obligations and the term of protection. Two final chapters are focused on the collective management and the infringement of copyright. It can be concluded that the protection of the performing artists' rights is a bit weaker. It is...

Thinking of beginning and end of metaphysics. On Heidegger's title beginning (der Anfang)
Pětová, Marie ; Benyovszky, Ladislav (advisor) ; Chvatík, Ivan (referee) ; Blecha, Ivan (referee)
The aim of this study is to help to clarify Heidegger's conception of metaphysics as "history of esse" (Geschichte des Seins), namely on the basis of one of his "leading" words (Leitworte), that is through the title "der Anfang" - beginning. The work tries to understand it using what the author terms as "anfängliches Denken", by following the initial grasp of esse.

Bahník, Štěpán ; Sirůček, Pavel (advisor) ; Džbánková, Zuzana (referee)
This work summarizes the basics of the heuristics and biases approach. It is a psychological approach to the study of decision-making and judgment stemming from works of Daniel Kahneman and Amos Tversky. Not only did it contribute to understanding of numerous cognitive processes, which people use for deciding and making judgments, but it has many applications in various fields including economics as well. There are mentioned examples of application besides theory in this work. In particular, the covered fields are negotiation, investment decision making and marketing. Critics of depicted approach and its implications are briefly described at the end of the work.

Human biomonitoring - opportunities and limitations
Weissová, Iveta ; Černá, Milena (advisor)
Human biomonitoring is a term for colleting and evaluating data concerning the pollution of environment and its influence on human body. In the CR it is being conducted since 1994 and its main aim is to protect people's health. The most commonly observed pollutants are heavy metals, PCBs, dioxins, chlorinated pesticides and many others. These pollutants find their way to the environment mainly due to people's industrial and agricultural activities. Smoking is still a current issue that needs to be addressed and it is an activity (voluntarily or in case of passive smoking involuntarily practiced) that causes health damage. Due to human biomonitoring, or more precisely due to principles which are now its foundation, many shortcomings of former industrial activities were discovered. Among others, it leads to understanding "Itai-itai" disease and discovering the cause of events in Japanese bay "Minamata". Today, the industrial (but also other) activities worldwide are at a high level of development. Many chemicals are being used and the environment is still being threatened. Based on those facts it is necessary to continually monitor the presence of toxic (or potentially toxic) substances in the environment and to put forth an extra effort to prevent exposure to these substances. Human biomonitoring is also...

The role of foreign political relations in the transformation of a regime in Georgia
Malátová, Lenka ; Dvořáková, Vladimíra (advisor) ; Prorok, Vladimír (referee)
In my bachelor thesis I decided to deal with foreign political influences on the political development in Georgia due to the fact that many changes have occurred in this territory over the past few years, which affected the political and economic situation in the whole Caucasus region. To better understand the situation it is necessary to know the historical facts about the relationship between Georgia and Russia. In the second part of the text I deal with the internal conflict of Georgia, because it was not clear from the beginning whether the Georgian foreign policy should be oriented to the west (USA and EU) or to the east (Russia). After the election of Mikheil Saakashvili into the presidency the foreign policy orientation has definitely turned towards the west . Finally, I analyze the conflict between Georgia and Russia in August 2008. Its causes, course and impact on the overall situation in Georgia. I also analyze what would be the possible political development in Georgia if Mikheil Saakashvili were to leave the position of head of state. The aim of this work is to clarify the impact of foreign political factors on the foreign policy and internal events in Georgia and which consequences have brought the cooperation with foreign countries to Georgia.

The thesis has got two parts. The theoretical part summarizes knowledge referring to the status of university teachers and their evaluation, the empirical part contains the description of the research methodologies, inroduces the valorization of the data obtained in several evaluations that had taken place, and summarizes the information obtained by the depths interviews. The most important conclusion of the thesis is that students and teachers consider student evaluation useful...

At the closure of the work, there are described several concrete cases of people who went through the experience of suffering in their lives. Human suffering, the suffering of women, the suffering of men, Father Pio, Mother Theresa, Communion and Stewardship.
