Criteria for the selection of songs in relation to the development of of musical skills

The aim is to find the songs that match the child's age and at the same time developing its musical skills. We need to evaluate the difficulty of the song intonation, rhythmic peculiarities of the songs and key, in which it sings the song. Finally, we consider the optimal and versatile selection from both the folk and the artificial music.
Conceptualization of Life in the Czech Popular Lyrics (Contribution to the Study of the Linguistic Picture of the World)

This thesis examines the conceptualization of life in the lyrics of Czech popular songs of 1960s. The thesis derives theoretically and methodologically from cognitively and culturally-based approaches to language, especially from the theory of conceptual metaphor and metonymy (e. g. Lakoff and Johnson) and the concept of language as a picture of the world (school of Lublin). At first the thesis analyses the semantics of lexeme life. The analysis is based on the data from dictionaries and it reaches the basics of the linguistic picture of life as it is anchored in common language. Simultaneously the thesis works with the picture of life (in contrast with death) how it is served in the literature about Czech folk culture. The main part of this study consists of almost a hundred interpretations of lyrics from the examined period, which depict human life in its various stages and forms (through oppositions of life - death, youth - old age, etc.). The analysis follows relevant semantic elements which participate on its conceptualization. The thesis describes systematically and in detail particularly metaphors (structural, ontological and orientational), metonymy, and also the image schemes which are associated with life (scheme of JOURNEY, CYCLE). Women as a Contemporary Lyrics Authors

The main aim of this thesis is to provide the reader with the overview of the work of female authors of lyrics and show the topics they are mainly interested in. The partial aim is to find out if some specific female topics and specific female expression and language exist. The core of the work is commented antology of texts. There are included texts of authors who are authors of music and interprets concurrently, who have been working in ten last years and released at least one CD. I come to the conclusion that women are writing mostly about partner relationships, love as a special kind of emotion, family and maternity and also their own position in world, faith and sexuality. Typical of female authors is that they view at the things as if men could not understand the same topics. Specific is also language of female authors and motives they use as the means of expression: they are particulary delicate and tender images and metaphores, intuitive and playful puns. In some texts women try to oppose the stereotype of women putting the text into typicaly mens ambience and using "mens" dictionary.

The bachelor thesis deals with Michna's songbook Czech Marian Music from 1647. The main goal of the thesis is to describe Michna's life and work in the context of the creation of his first songbook. The insight into the musical structure of Czech Marian music will be completed with literary and language part. The literary analysis should not be overlooked, considering the fact that Adam Václav Michna z Otradovic was not only a musician but above all an excellent poet.

Title of the thesis: Developing pronunciation through musical activities in French lessons Keywords: communicative approach, phonetics, phonology, pronunciation, prosody, activity, music, rhythm, rhythmisation, melody, tempo, intonation, accent, song, rap, facial expressions Abstract: This thesis deals with the teaching of French phonetics, considers the status of phonetics in communicatively oriented teaching, and comes to the fact that the teaching of phonetics and phonology is not a priority in the communicative approach. The work demonstrates the importance of such teaching, and therefore explores how the teaching of pronunciation or some of its components could be made more attractive. Based on the proven relationship of music and language, both as auditory phenomena, this thesis approaches the interwoven elements of these two areas. The aim is to explore how the musical elements, such as: rhythm, melody, tempo, phrasing, etc., could be used in the teaching of French pronunciation - especially at the suprasegmental level. The work offers a basic inventory of exercises which benefit from this characteristic and which has been verified in practice, and in the final analysis summarises their effectiveness in foreign language teaching.
Contemporary Trends of Protestant Liturgical Music in the Czech Republic

anglicky The diploma thesis Contemporary Trends of Protestant Liturgical Music in the Czech Republic deals mainly with both - musical and unmusical - element of contemporary praise and worship songs used at protestant Sunday services. The aim of praise and worship music in a Sunday service, is to give praise to God, as well as it was in biblical times. Therefore the first chapter of the thesis presents observations about music in the Bible and examines its connections to non-musical ways of praising God, which throws light upon the situation today. The part of the thesis which makes the reader familiar with current situation of protestant liturgical music in the Czech Republic, points out weaknesses in present-day song writing and shows a need of musical education for Christians, who take part in performing music at Church, compose songs and translate them from other languages. There is also a notable trend of adapting hymnbook songs, which therefore become friendlier to younger generation who prefers livelier music. Although there is not any board for protestant liturgical music, there are several influential personalities, whose view on various components of music liturgy and relationship to God's praise are presented in the third chapter. Spiritual folk song

This thesis is focused on the spiritual folk songs in the Czech environment, especially from a theological point of view. The first chapter puts the topic in historical, geographical and spiritual context and generally attempts to describe what a spiritual folk song is and from which sources and in which contexts it has been created. The second chapter reflects several theological themes or areas that generally apply to the genre of spiritual folk songs. A separate sub-chapter also reflects biblical songs. The lectures are supplemented by specific examples of songs. The third and largest chapter attempts to map out which areas and situations of human life is spiritual folk song concerned. The chapter is subdivided into three time cycles: day, year, life. This chapter contains numerous examples of songs related to the discussed areas. The last chapter aims to interpret and use the songs in the context of today. It examines how the genre of folk songs generally enters into contemporary culture and deals with the possibilities of practical implementation of this genre in the church hymnology practice. The Relationship of Music and Word in the 15th Century Songs

The polyphonic songs from the 15th-century Czech manuscript Codex Speciálník were studied allready in 1980s and 1990s by Dagmar Vanišová and Jitka Petrusová. In the context of actual research, the former interpretation of songs with Latin sacred texts (understood as cantiones) needs a revision. In my study, I am discussing problems concerning the relationship of music and words within individual compositions and in the context of the period musical culture.

TO THESIS "THE ORGAN ACCOMPANIMENT OF MASSLITURGY AND NEW LITURGICAL SONGS" Vít Náměstek PedF UK This thesis is going to pursue a task of the right modes of organ accompaniment of massliturgy. It describes the desirable style and character of accompaniment component parts of ceremony to make the organ play not to be for itself only, but to let it become the thing, that it schould be: The organ play has to create an organic complex with the liturgy. The work makes the direction of the play concrete and accent the sensitivity not only for pure substance of the holy mass, but also depending on liturgical day and season. It is focus on the main prelude and main postlude, on perticular preludes, postludes and interludes during the ceremony, and on accompaniments of the responses, acclamations and also solo celebrant's singing - that means on the parts, which aren't mostly mentioned in publications of organ accompaniment. The creative part of the work includes 3 new songs for worship: their tunes and lyrics , harmonization and music-theological analysis.
Song as a methodological tool

My work is dealing with the topic concerning the use of the song in the class. In the theoretical section, the author considers the teaching methods, types of exercises, connection of the song in the class with suggestopedia and the use of the song in the class where French language is taught. Then in the practical section she suggests the possibilities of the work with different songs in the class.
