Transformations of contemporary Ukrainian immigration. Identity role and forms in the context of Ukrainian migration to Czechia

Ukrainians represent the most numerous foreign group coming to the Czech Republic. Ukrainian migration is usually described as circular and temporary. The aim of this diploma thesis is to scrutinize some of the recent changes in the Ukrainian immigration to Czech Republic, and their impact on the identity of newly establishing local Ukrainian community. Therefore the first part is focused on the questions of ethnical identity and on the transnational theory, which I based my final analysis on. The second part examines historical and social context: the development of Ukrainian nation in the twentieth century and different approaches towards minorities and foreigners in Czechia during the same period. It is also focused on transformations of migration in the Czech Republic and Ukraine after the fall of the communist regime as well as on approach towards new migration communities. Especially two Ukrainian-Czech waves of migration are being concentrated on, namely interwar political migration and a new economic migration, and their status in the Czech Republic. Travel 2.0 - new forms of tourism in the age of evolving web 2.0 technologies

Tématem diplomové práce je fenomén web 2.0, respektive jeho aplikace a služby zaměřené na oblast turismu a cestovního ruchu - tzv. travel 2.0. Cílem práce je vymezit pojem travel 2.0, upozornit na jeho přínosy uživatelům a prozkoumat, jakým způsobem travel 2.0 ovlivňuje turismus a cestovní ruch a jaký je jeho další potenciál v této oblasti (jaký vliv má např. na ekonomické, sociologické či environmentální aspekty turismu). První část práce je věnována teoretickým aspektům a principům webu 2.0, ale také technologickému pozadí této problematiky. Pojednány jsou jednotlivé charakteristiky webu 2.0 včetně kritiky celého konceptu. Další část práce se zabývá lidovou tvořivostí na internetu a možnostmi tvorby sdíleného obsahu v kontextu problematiky travel 2.0 se zaměřením na blog a mashup. Ve třetí části je zkoumán vliv travel 2.0 služeb na ekonomické aspekty turismu a dopady na spotřebitelské chování uživatelů těchto služeb. Pojednán je také vztah globalizace a turismu. Čtvrtá část je věnována alternativním formám turismu a významnému působení travel 2.0 na tuto podoblast cestovního ruchu. Poslední část se pak zabývá možnostmi travel 2.0 na poli trvale udržitelného rozvoje turismu a jeho využitím pro šetrné a zodpovědné cestování vzhledem k environmentálním a dalším otázkám.

Syntax of the legal texts in diachronic point of view

The thesis deals with the language of legal documents and i t provides i ts readers wi th a description of i ts syntactic ::levelopment since 1918 up to now. On the background of the nethod by M . Těšitelová et al. Three text form three periods ~re analysed (about the years 1920, 1960 and 2000); their total range being 27000 word. The research results in the finding that the style of legal texts had its specific features at the beginning of the examined period allready. The sentences as a unit of predication gets longer. Further, the 1umber of nominal construction grows as one of the basic :haracteristics of the legal language. In the texts dated 2000 3. wider scale of analytic predicates is used. The vocabulary )f nonverbal clauses is impowerished. On the other hand, the 1umber of uses of postponed adj ecti ves grows considerabely, Lnfluencing the length of nominal groups. The thesis also )ffers a surwey of means of expressing intrinsic modality.

Proposal of assertiveness training for adolescents

Práce se zabývá asertivitou jako jednou z oblastí komunikace a jejím využitím v pedagogickém prostředí. Cílem práce bylo nastínit základní teoretická východiska a principy asertivity a navrhnout komplexní tréninkový program pro výcvik asertivních dovedností na střední škole. V současné době ubývá přirozených situacích stimulujících rozvoj sociálních dovedností. Zůstává stále méně času pro společné kontakty v rodině, ve škole, mezi vrstevníky, na pracovišti. Zároveň je i více možností, jak se stáhnou do soukromí a vyhnout se přímým a nezprostředkovaným sociálním kontaktů. Současně se však kladou nové požadavky na sociální kompetence a jejich úroveň. Stejně jako se mluví o nutnosti minimální počítačové gramotnosti, dochází postupně k potřebě základní sociálně-psychologické gramotnosti, jejíž součástí budou základní sociálněpsychologické dovednosti. S ohledem na tuto situaci může výcvik asertivních dovedností do určité míry kompenzovat tyto nedostatky. Může přispívat k rozvoji reflexe sebe sama i druhých lidí, komunikačních dovedností, kultivovat vyjadřování i přijímání emocí, upozornit jedince na jeho silné stránky a rezervy v jednání s lidmi.

The history, present and future of school libraries in the United States of America

Diplomová práce se zabývá historií školních knihoven v USA, nejdůležitějšími aspekty jejich současného fungování a naznačením trendů, které budou v budoucnosti pro jejich postavení a rozvoj určující. V práci jsou analyzovány základní statistické údaje, které se vážou k problematice školních knihoven v USA. Těžištěm práce je rozbor všech základních oblastí školního knihovnictví. Jde o financování, programy školních knihoven, jejich personální zajištění, architekturu a prostorové vybavení, nové technologie a jejich dopad na činnost školních knihoven, jejich akviziční politiku. V jednotlivých kapitolách porovnávám statistické ukazatele s "ideálním" stavem, který je pro činnost školních knihoven doporučován příslušnými institucemi, které mají tuto problematiku ve své gesci. Závěr práce je věnován výhledu do budoucnosti, základním problémům, trendům a výzvám, se kterými budou školní knihovny v USA konfrontovány.

Chelating polymers for the therapy of Wilson's disease

Wilson's disease is a hereditary disorder of copper metabolism, which causes copper accumulation in organism, especially in the liver, kidneys and brain. Current treatment is based on using low-molecular weight copper chelators and high doses of zinc salts. Unfortunately, they can induce some severe side effects due to systemic action. The aim of this thesis is to improve the treatment of Wilson's disease by using of polymeric drug delivery systems. The size of polymer particles in tens of microns should provide non-resorbability of the drug after oral administration. Synthetic microparticles of poly(glycidyl methacrylate-co- ethylene dimethacrylate), natural microcrystalline cellulose and cross-linked chitosan were used as polymer matrices. N,N-di(2-pyridylmethyl)amine, triethylenetetraamine and 8-hydroxyquinoline were selected as specific copper chelators, which can complex copper cations with high efficiency. The principle of the proposed treatment is that the polymeric carrier-bound chelator complex copper directly from the food in digestive tract of the organism. Because of non-resorbability, the entire complex should be eliminated from the body together with stools. This virtually eliminates systemic side effects. Stability measures of optimal solution of LP problems with regards to the target function

Real-world systems usually contain some degree of natural uncertainty, their parameters are more or less variable. When seeking optimal solution, optimization models often disregard this variability and consider parameters of the model to be constant. This thesis focuses on methods of post-optimization analysis. Thorough post-optimization analysis should be a part of every optimization process of systems with variable parameters. Post-optimization analysis can identify parameters whose variability poses the greatest threat to the systems performance. This thesis describes some of the basic post-optimization methods and then a new method based on interval arithmetics is formulated.

Analysis of telecommunication industry

Tato diplomová práce detailně analyzuje český trh elektronických komunikací. Podrobně jsou zde popsáni všichni hlavní hráči trhu, jejich vývoj a vzájemné vazby. Práce dále analyzuje současné tržní rozdělení na dílčích telekomunikačních segmentech (data, hlas, mobilní produkty), procentuelní zastoupení jednotlivých operátorů, poskytované služby a hlavní zdroje příjmů. Na těchto statistikách jsou potom vystavěny predikce dalšího vývoje trhu a popis hlavních trendů v následujících letech. Samostatná část je věnována problematice podnikání v oboru elektronických komunikací. Ta popisuje pravidla a požadavky vstupu na trh, vymezení nejperspektivnějších oblastí a definice omezujících faktorů. Rozebrány jsou jak finanční, tak také legislativní aspekty. V modelovém příkladu je poskytnuta orientační představa o možných nákladech na stavbu telekomunikačních sítí, značný prostor je věnován také hlavním právním normám, které tuto oblast upravují.

Nuclear arms control, regulation and nuclear disarmament

The dissertation concludes with the main points of the research and analyses in the above mentioned four pillars and also assesses the status of the efforts for nuclear arms control and nuclear disarmament in its whole history. However, the overall picture is a mixture of successes and failures and suggests that the only way to reach nuclear disarmament in a long way through step-by-step process that would also lead to reaching higher level of world peace and stability. However, even the idea of the world without nuclear weapons has its drawbacks as the dissertation tries to show. Especially with respect to change in the US administration in the early 2009 and its approach to nuclear disarmament, there also still remain many unanswered questions that are left for further research.
